Result: Johnny Got His Gun Based on the 1939 book of the same name by Dalton Trumbo. Trivia: Clips from the movie feature in the video clip for the Metallic song 'One'. Thanx Bianca.

This film played on A&E in the early part of the 80's. It was set in an English Army Hospital or long tern care facility during World War I or World War II. There was this dark haired nurse taking care of this patient who was wrapped in bandages and could not move or speak. She was very attached to him. There was also a young army man who I believe was in love with her. It ends with planes flying over head dropping bombs and her running to save the immobile patient. It is implied she is killed trying to save this man.

Result: Twins Of Destiny Jules & Julie. Animated TV series. Thanx Marko.

A cartoon/animation series that showed about 10 years back (In de 90's) which had these twins, one girl and one boy, brother and sister, with special powers that activated when they joined hands. Had a jester/like character that helped them throughout as they were hounded through either Europe or Asia. Occasional violent bits and adult themes. I believe they were still kids, I think they were Asian. Some bad guy wanted them for some sort of reason, and other people tried to help them out so they wouldn't get caught. PS. NOT THE WONDER TWINS FROM THE SUPERFRIENDS!

Result: On Borrowed Time (1939) Lionel Barrymore. Thanx snazayjazzay.

A B&W movie. Maybe 40's when glamour was in--Katherine Hepburnish styling. I saw it as a child. I saw the film probably on Saturday night TV in the late 70s early 80s. I remember it as a madcap comedy; something about a tree outside of a window comes to mind...the adults in the film needed to use this tree to hide/get out of the house to avoid someone. I remember a lot of running back and forth at the end...

Result: Leave Her To Heaven (1945) gene tierney, cornell wilde (oscar nomination for gene tierney for best actress) Thanx Rob.

I saw this movie in a film class in college. It was about a man who married this woman who was a terrible manipulator. She constantly did horrible things in order to get all of the attention to focus on her. When she was pregnant, she purposely fell down a flight of stairs. In the end, she poisoned herself and made it look as though her husband did it. He goes on trial for murder. The film begins and ends with the husband taking off in a small rowboat in a lake.

Result: The Dark Secret Of Harvest Home (1978) (TV) bette davis, rosanna arquette as the couples daughter. based on the book Harvest Home by Thomas Tryon. Thanx Rob, RunninRabbit.

This is an ABC Movie of the Week in which a couple moves to a small New England farming community. Their neighbors welcome and invite them to participate in the harvest celebration. The wife is selected to be the harvest queen and a young man (not her husband) the king. The husband becomes suspicious of his neighbors and begins snooping. He discovers all his neighbors belong to a cult and his wife is becoming "indoctrinated" to their ways. The cult members discover the husband's intrusions and gouge out his eyes. The finale has the queen and king making love in a "canine" fashion (not graphically filmed). At the point of sexual climax the young man is be- headed. The final scenes show the wife serenely tending the room in which her blind husband sits quietly.

Result: Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark (again) (1973). Thanx anon, RomanyX, Rob, Ravingwolf, Janet the Film Goddess, Marphisa, TomT.

I saw this movie as a child in the 1970s. I'm 33 now and can still remember scenes but I am going crazy trying to find the name of the movie! This is what I remember: a woman is living in a large house. Every time the lights go out these little creatures come out of doors and begin trying to harm her. One scene I remember has the woman taking a shower- and the lights go out. The little creatures come out of a closet and try to get her. In the end of the movie they get her and drag her to the basement. One the way to the basement the woman is able to grab a camera and snaps a picture of the little creatures. The light from the flash temporarily saves her. If I remember correctly the movie ends with the sound of the woman whispering saying she is going to escape somehow. Sorry if I have some details mixed up- it's been a LONG time since seeing this movie. I've never forgotten it. By the way- it's not "Trilogy of Terror" as a few people have offered. I read the plot to that and it doesn't match this particular movie.

Result: Against A Crooked Sky Thanx VSWM.

I am looking for a movie seen on TV in the late 70's or early 80's. Possibly a family classics movie. The movie starts with a family being raided by indians. A young girl and boy are hiding as the family is killed. The little girl tries to run and is captured by the indians. The movie continues with both kids older and the boy searches for the girl, possibly his sister. When he finally finds the tribe he must complete a series of quests/task in a certain amount of time or the girl will be shot with an arrow. Just as the boy/young man reaches the top of the cliff to rescue the girl she is shot and falls over the edge to die. The girl doesn't actually die as an indian girl took her place being shot as the girl is pregnant by an indian. The movie ends with the white girl going back home with the baby.

Result: The Hugga Bunch Movie (1985) (TV) starring Gennie James. Thanx Marphisa.

I think that i saw this movie in the 1980's, on tv, color, in the united states, basic tv (not on a movie channel or anything). It is a children or family movie about a girl and her brother who go through the mirror to find these magic berries that will make her grandmother/grandfather not pass away. "youthful berries" or something. I don't remember much except that they go to this strange "land", beat the witch with the help of their fairytale friends, and get the berries. Tragically as the girl is stepping back through the mirror she trips and spills the berries and they are gone forever. My friend and I seem to be the only ones who have ever heard of this movie so please help us if you can.

Result: Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark Thanx anon, RomanyX, Marphisa, TomT.

I saw this film when I was very young (70's-80's), on tv, probably on a saturday afternoon creature feature. I think it was a pretty old movie, maybe even fifties. i'm thinking it was black and white, but can't be sure. I think also it was a B movie, or maybe even a twilite zone episode or something. all i rember is these little white creatures bonk a house wife over the head, and then drag her through a little door in the side of a house? wall?? made of brick. i think they killed her dog before that... and dragged him away too. very hazy memory, but it scared me pretty bad.

In the beginning of the movie, an older (1950's) city bus goes out of control and kills a little boys parent(s). The rest of the movie takes place with the little boy now grown up. If I recall correctly, the old bus now has the duty of picking up people when their time has come. The little boy (now grown up) learns to love... I think I saw this movie in the mid 1980's or early 1990's.

Result: The Phantom Tollbooth (1970) . Thanx Janet the Film Goddess, Marphisa.

I'm looking for the name of a film I saw on TV in about 1978. It started with small boy talking on the phone to one of his friends when there is a loud noise from his bedroom. When he goes to look he finds a box, I can't remember whether he presses a button or something, but the box opens out and there's a car he gets into and then the film becomes cartoon. He goes on all sorts of adventures and when he returns it becomes film again and he goes back to the phone and his friend asks him where he's been for the last 5 minutes (he's been gone ages it seems) and then the friend on the other end of the phone says he has to go as something has just landed in his bedroom.

Result: Burnt Offerings with Karen Black. Thanx Alli.

I saw a movie on regular television in the mid 80's. It seemed to be a horror movie that was made in the mid 70's. It revolved around a house and a family who moves to the house and I think it was a relatives house and the relative is supposedly alive but at the very end of the film it turns out the relative is dead and the rocking chair that she was supposed to be in has one of the main characters in it pretending to be the dead relative. It was a weird movie

Result: Trapped (2002) with Kevin Bacon, Charlize Theron, and Courtney Love. Thanx Alli, Mini Me, CCL, Sngbrd9173, Marphisa.

I saw a movie within the last five years. It's about a rich family who is kidnapped by a couple. The father is a doctor and he ends up being held captive by the wife. The mother is held by the man. The children are left with someone who is mentally slow. He is supposed to kill the child if he doesn't get a phone call every hour. The reason the couple is doing is this is because the dad in the movie is a doctor. He was delivering the baby of the female kidnapper or something and the baby dies. She ends up not being able to ever give child birth. The male kidnapper knew or worked at the same hospital as the doctor.

Around the years 1950-1960's a saw an old black and white film shown around Christmas time called The Little Match Girl. (1937) I would love to get a copy of this old classic. It was about a young homeless girl who stood outside in the cold and snow selling matches. She would light one every now and then to try and keep herself warm. I'm sorry, I was so young that I cannot remember the young actress' name.I have been searching to no avail for many years. I hope you are able to assist me. I am now a teacher and would like to use the message and show the movie to my students.

Result: Sounder (1972) (TV). Thanx Will.

I remember watching a show or short movie on PBS in South Carolina probably during late 70's or early 80's about a family of runaway slaves. I think it opened with the family; mother and father and either 1 or 2 children (not sure of their sex) running through woods being chased by hounds that you hear in the distance, tracking them. Then I remember a cabin in the woods. That's about all I recall. At the time I had watched "Roots", and this reminded me of it, but it is not roots, although some of the actors could have been in "Roots". I seem to remember recognizing someone from that movie. I had thought that John Amos was the slave father, but nothing like this appears in his filmology at IMDb.

Result: Tom's Midnight Garden there is lots of versions of it, especially here in the U.K. Its based on a book by Philippa Pearce. It's very good. Thanx Saffron.

I watched a movie not too long ago within in the last 5 years. It was in color and about a boy who went to stay with relatives because his brother was sick and ends up travelling back in time after finding a secret compartment in a closet. He becomes friends with the girl he meets. He is staying in her house in the future which has been turned into apartments. When he comes back home no time has gone by, but when he goes back in time months and years have passed and the girl ages and then gets married. It ends that a old woman living in the house is the girl he was friends with.

Result: Hand In Hand Thanx RomanyX, Marphisa.

I saw this movie in the late 1960s or early 1970s. It was live action, not cartoon. It was in black and white. The only details I recall are as follows: it was about a friendship between a boy and a girl -- early love. They were really young -- between 10 and 14 years old maybe. The adults in the movie (the kids' family, older friends, the families' pastor and priest) were conflicted about the kids' relationship. There was quite a bit of resistance on the part of the adults. They didn't want the kids' to become more serious in their relationship. (It may have had something to do with the families' different religious backgrounds). I seem to remember one family being Catholic and the other being Jewish -- but I'm not sure. Eventually, the boy and the girl decide to run away. As part of running away, they get on a small boat and go down a river or stream. The boat capsizes. The girl is hurt. She is found, taken to a hospital. The movie ends with the boy alive and one of the priests talking to the parents. In the end, I can't recall if the girl survives or no (I was only about 8 years old at the time). But I remember being really disappointed that the two young kids didn't end up together by the end of the movie. Perhaps we were to assume that everything was going to be ok in the end, the girl recovering, and the two of them continuing their friendship. But being as young as I was, I was not able to make that assumption then.

#567

Result: Little Dog Lost Disney Tv film. Thanx Saundrah.

I saw this movie between 1968 and 1972. It was live action, not cartoon. It was in color, so it must have been produced in the 1950s or 1960s. It was one of those movies about an animal, like Benji, but it was different. It was about this little dog who was being abused by the family it lived with. I distinctly remember a scene in which the dog was being punished by its owner -- the owner used a broom against the dog, not really hitting it, but surely scaring it with the broom. The little dog was terrified of it. Also, if I remember correctly, the dog used to be locked in a closet in the kitchen (I'm not sure about that though. Maybe it was the broom that was kept in the closet), but whenever the dog would see that broom, it would get really scared and try to fight it or run away from it. Eventually, the dog runs away from home and begins an adventure in the wilderness. That's all I remember. I thought it might be a Disney movie. But I have researched the Disney archives and have found nothing like that.

Result: Ponette (1997) French. Thanx Amy.

Hi, i saw this french movie circa 1999 (I was in Romania), the movie was probably made in the late 90's. THe movie is about a little girl (about 6-7 years old) whose mother just died, and she can't quite understand it. Her dad moves her to the countryside (or she lived there before, not sure), but he's mostly on the road, so she has to deal with this herself. Her friend tells her that if she prays hard enough she will get to see her mother, so we see her night after night asking God to bring back her mommy. The great thing is that in the end, her mom does come and visit her, and assures her that she will never be alone. Needless to say, that i cried my eyes out the entire movie, and since i have not seen a movie as sensible as that one. I think the movie was just the little girl's name, but i'm not sure.

It was a horror film that centered around a man, whom I believe was named michael who was comatose ina hospital bed through the whole movie. hed have occasional brain waves on the monitoring screen, and went about killing people in and out of the hospital with his mental abilities. In the end of the movie he had a spasm and fleew out the hospital window to his death.

Result: The Search (1948) . Thanx Mini Me.

In late May 2004 we watched part of a movie, I think on Turner Classic Movies, on a Sunday. It was black and white, I think, and was an old movie about a little European boy (Polish?) at the end of WW2. He was released from a camp by Americans. Since he could not understand their language, he thought they were just taking him to another camp. He escapes, with his friend. His friend drowns, and he is thought to be drowned, as well. Two American soldiers find him and take him in. All the while, his mother is looking for him. A line I remember is when the American tells him he is returning to the US. He tells the soldier, "You are NOT my friend!"

A pretty old black and white film where the daughter discovers she has powers and behaves horribly until her mother tells the dad and brother to leave the house so she can take care of it. When the daughter thinks her mother cant do anything her mother asks her where she thought she got the powers from and they end up having this amazing battle in the kitchen.

Result: Picture Mommy Dead (1966) Thanx runninrabbit, Tollan.

I am looking for the name of a movie from around 1968 all I can remember is that it had the Hearse song in it. If you could help me I would be so thank full I was only around 6 years old and would like very much to see it again.

THE HEARSE SONG
Don't you ever laugh as the hearse goes by,
For you may be the next to die.
They wrap you up in a big white sheet
From your head down to your feet.
They put you in a big black box
And cover you up with dirt and rocks.
All goes well for about a week,
Then your coffin begins to leak.
The worms crawl in, the worms crawl out,
The worms play pinochle on your snout.
They eat your eyes, they eat your nose,
They eat the jelly between your toes.
A big green worm with rolling eyes
Crawls in your stomach and out your eyes.
Your stomach turns a slimy green,
And pus pours out like whipping cream.
You spread it on a slice of bread,
And that's what you eat when you are dead.

Result: The Devil's Ball was actually a sequence taken from the middle of The Mascot, a 26 minute silent film from the 1930's. (a short subject that was often seen during the '80s on USA network's "Night Flight" show.) Thanx RomanyX.

I am trying to find an animated movie made in the early 1980's. I remember its main character is a wind-up toy dog and other toys that leave a toystore for some journey. I clearly remember the toy dog falling into water and slowing down and a train-sequence at the end with the toys fighting someboy. It is not All Dogs Go To Heaven.

Result: Maybe I'll Come Home In The Spring with Sally Field & David Carradine. Thanx RomanyX.

A movie I saw in the 70's. A girl runs away with a guy, think he has a van. She finally comes back home only to have her little sister run away. Ending...girl is vaccuuming and then credits run. TV movie. Drugs involved I think.

#557

Result: Rabid (1977) starring Marilyn Chambers. Thanx Victoria.

Hello, I saw this movie when I was four or five (which would then be 1974/75) on TV in colour. Possibly Canadian as that's where I am. Movie was a horror/suspense type, I think. There was a girl/young woman who had something wrong with her, but I can't remember. In one scene a doctor was letting her look through a microscope (maybe her blood sample?) and all you could see was spiders or creepy crawlies. The other had her walking down the street and the scene would flash to organic rings or amoebae floating in a red/orange background and then back to her; this was repeated. The girl was wearing a light coloured coat and maybe a hat. For some reason I seem to recall this had something to do with what was inside her arm.

#555

Result: Highway 61 (1991) a Canadian indie film starring Don McKellar and a cameo with The Dead Kennedy's, Jello Biafra. Thanx Alli (poster).

I watched this movie during the mid-90's. I think it was a British or similar film. There was a tall, dark-haired man and a girl on a road trip to bring back a dead body of one of their relatives. They have to bring the body back in a car and strange things happen along the way, I think. I thought the British actor, David Thewlis, was the man in the film, but it isn't him. It may have been a dark, black comedy-drama.

#554

Result: Cold Comfort (1989) . Thanx Alli.

I saw this movie on chanel 4 here in the uk in about 93' when I was 11. It was late at night and this movie really disturbed me... A young salesmans car cashes/breaksdown in the middle of nowhere in a blizzard I think. A middle-aged guy takes him home and soon enough holds him prisoner. He violently abuses him making him some sort of 'pet' to amuse his also mentally ill daughter. The daughter helps him escape and the ending is just as sad. Kind of a depressing film all the way through but it left an impression. I think this movie was made in the 70's. The young guy was fairly good looking with black , maybe curly hair from what i remember.

#553

Result: The Prisoner Thanx me.

This film was shown in the 70s and I have a vague recollection of watching it from a doorway, since I wasn't allowed to view it (I'm assuming because it was an R or PG-13 movie and I was only 7 years old. It wasn't a cartoon, but was a color movie. I have a vivid recollection of a giant bubble (perhaps white) chasing a white man, who was running desperately away from it--I believe because it would kill him if it caught up with him. That's really all I remember as I was so very young. The vision of the bubble chasing me comes up when I'm having nightmares now.

Result: My Side Of The Mountain (1969) Thanx Runninrabbit, Marphisa.

I am looking for a film from the late 50's or early 60's. It is about an orphaned boy who ends up living in the woods with the other animals and lives in a tree. I know it sounds rediculous-but I think I saw it on WTBS Superstation USA back in 1987-88. It was a color film. The little boy was blonde and about 3-4 years old to start.
No-I don't think it was a Tarzan film. The little boy lived inside an old tree and the scenery depicted makes me think it was filmed in the midwest. Almost like Grizzly Adams Baby.I believe it was narrated. It could possibly be a Disney film. The boy did not speak the entire movie.

#551

Result: Mr. Sycamore (1975) starring Jason Robards. Thanx Marphisa.

In the late 70's or early 80's I saw a TV movie in which a man (I think he was a postal carrier) wanted desperately to become a tree. Throughout the movie, he tried various things such as planting his feet and legs in the ground in his front yard and staying there for several days. In the end, he is running from someone or some group of people out in a grassy / hilly area of a park, and finally becomes a tree standing near a pool. The man had a wife and at least one child.

Result: Sleepwalkers (1992) Stephen King. Thanx Runninrabbit, Alli.

A movie that I saw about mid 80's on TV. I am unable to remember much about the movie. I know that there was a house full of cats that were attacking the people that would go near the house. There were a group of teen kids and one of them had a 60's camaro or a car of the like. I thought that it was a Stephen King movie but have not found anything that matches.

Result: Pi Thanx Ben, Alli.

This movie is probley mid 90's. It came on the sundance channel or somthing, I think. I know it was an independant film. It was in black and white, but not old. I remmeber it was about a guy figuring out a code in the stock market or somthing. And I remember he consulted with an old man. And I remember he always talked about his mom used to tell him never to look directly at the son, so when he was young, he did, and it blinded him for some time.

#545

Result: Island City (1994) (TV). A failed pilot. Thanx Marphisa.

I saw this color movie in the 90's on television in the US. It takes place sometime in the future where a drug was created that can stop the aging process. The problem is that it only worked for certain humans. Other humans were mutated by the drug and forced to live in the barren wastelands outside of the city. Something memorable of note is that before starting a relationship, each person must check wether a jewel, located on their hands I believe, matches in color to the other person's jewel. This is to prevent further mutants from being born. One of the main characters was a half mutant whose jewel color is black which is unique. Another of the main characters has a husband who did not take the drug for fear of becoming a mutant and is now an old man. The plot involves a group of forever young people going outside of the city to look for non-mutants. They find a woman who ends up being the long lost sister of someone in the city and bring her back.

#544

Result: Wizard Of Mars Thanx RomanyX.

Help me find the title of a late 50's or early 60's B&W Sci-Fi film. The players include 2 to 3 men and 1 woman, whom are astronauts that land on Mars. They plod around on the Martian planet and discover the ruins of a civilization. The clock-like apparatus they encounter later releases the ghostly faces of the habitats of this civilization. The faces stream out towards the screen with a haunting, breathing-like sound. The movie soon ends, with little monster-horror payoff. Admittedly, the movie was boring to me as a child, but impressionable enough for me to make this plea because I've talked to others who have seen this film.

#543

Result: Seven Chances I don't know what the collection is (Soupy Sales used to do something like that), but the silent film with the brides is "Seven Chances" starring Buster Keaton. Thanx Marphisa.

I saw this black and white movie on tv in New Jersey approximately 1985...I think it was a collection of short silent films one of which was about a man who has to get married so he puts out an ad for any woman wanting to marry to meet him at a church where he will be waiting. He waits in the front pew and falls asleep. When he wakes up, the church is full of would be wives, who upon seeing their "husband", begin a hillarious chase. The movie ends with a man sharpening an axe on a grinding wheel which shoots sparks back at the man. The movie is narrated by someone who is very tongue in cheek funny...calling someones head their bean to which they stick their toupee with muselage

Result: Back From Eternity (1956) a remake of Five Came Back (1939). Thanx Marphisa.

I saw this movie on television. I'm guessing in the 60's. the movie takes place in the 40's or 50's. A plane ( a DC-3) encounters turbulance. Oxgen bottles knock a hole in the plane sucking out the stewdardess. Plane makes an emergency landing in the jungle. The passengers and crew attempt to fix the plane. In the meantime it's discovered that there are man-eating natives coming. The plane is fixed, but can only handle so much weight, thus some of the passengers must remain behind to meet their end. I remember an elderly couple remain behind.

Result: Mr. Boogedy (1986) (TV). You can get it on e-bay. Disney never released it. Thanx Marphisa, Kathy D.

I think it was a disney movie... I remember it from when I was little and it was always shown around halloween. Probably mid 80s. It was set in a little town and I think it was a family who lived in a big house next to a cemetery. The father (I think) gets the spirit of the boogey man in him. He starts floating up to the ceiling in their dining room saying "boogedy boogedy boo... just kidding!" and laughing. It was a pretty funny movie which is why I think it was Disney. There was a part where the boy went into the graveyard and the boogeyman appears... I think in just a big flash of light. I have a friend who remembers this movie also but can't remember the title. kimbabe@yahoo.com

Result: Where Have All The People Gone? (1974) (TV) starring Peter Graves. Thanx Marphisa.

I remember it being in color, but could be wrong about that. Played several times on TV in the early to mid 70's, about people disintigrating. Entire sets of clothes would be found, in the vague shape of a person, however, all that is left inside the close has been turned to dust. People walking around in a quest to find out what is going on. Widespread, like maybe it is happening all over the world.

Result: Suckers (1999) starring Daniel Benzali. Thanx Marphisa.

I have searched and searched for the title to a comedy movie I watched approximately four years ago on late late night pay channel (I think it was one of the Cinemax channels). The movie setting was 70s to early 80s set in sunny California at a large car dealership. The main character was a young man trying to learn the ropes as a car salesman. The dealership was very shady, they would rip people off and they taped customers having private discussion ...etc There was a really funny part where the dealership manager gave the entire sales staff a speech on how to sell (rip off) cars to people. The movie is NOT "Cadillac Man" and it is not "Used Cars".

Result: The Earthling (also #200) (1980) starring William Holden and Ricky Schroder. Thanx Marphisa, Alli.

I saw this in the early 1980's. It started out with a husband, wife and their young son go camping in a big RV somewhere in the mountains. The boy is out in the woods playing and somehow the dad and mom in the RV get killed when the RV tumbles off the side of cliff. The little boy begins a journey back to his home. I really remember him following some train tracks.

I saw this color movie on TV in the early 80's. I think it might have been part of a made-for-TV anthology. In the middle of the night, the boy's toy soldiers come alive for vengence and attack his father.

I'm looking for the name of a movie I saw in 1976-79. It was a takeoff on the movie Grizzly. It was in theaters and in color. There was a scene "maybe a flashback in movie" of an indian woman and 2 babies getting attacked by a killer bear. "they probably weren't real indians".

Result: A Stranger Is Watching (1982) No sequel or remake. Thanx Marphisa.

Ok, this movie was probably the late 70's ('78/'79) I personally don't think it's 'When a Stranger Calls' but that is all I find. A woman and a girl get kidnapped. The girl, 12ish or so, gets thrown in a sack. When they reach the basement or whatever the kidnapper puts them in, she says, "I threw up" to the lady. The lady is either a babysitter or a family friend. There was a remake or sequel later on. I can't remember much else...I know they show them talking about wanting a burger because they are hungry. The beginning has the lady on the phone at one point in the kitchen.

Result: John Carpenter's Body Bags Thanx RomanyX.

I saw this movie on VHS sometime in the late 80's - early 90's, though it could have been made as early as the late 70's. It was a horror story about a young girl who starts her first night working at a secluded gas station. She is working the graveyard shift, all alone, locked in a little glass booth. The door is always locked, and I think there is a scene where she almost (or does) get locked out of the booth. Anyway, she gets scary calls on the phone, and they are coming from a automotive garage that is on the same property. The lights go on-and-off in the garage, and the door opens up, etc. At one point, a man comes to get gas, in a Porsche. He leaves, but eventually comes back to the station, because he mistakenly leaves his wallet behind. When he comes back, he saves the girl from the mysterious killer. Details are sketchy, but I think that's how it went. I think this might have been a short film, together with a couple other, seperate stories on the same tape (in the "Creepshow" style).

Result: Sentimental Journey (1946) and its remake The Gift of Love (1958) with Lauren Bacall and Robert Stack. Thanx Ellie.

I am looking for the name of a movie I saw on TV in the 60s. It was about a woman who had a bad heart (I think). Anyway she knew she was not going to live long and wanted someone to b there for her husband. He did not know she was sick. She met an orphan girl and an orphanage and tried to get the girl and the husband to be friends. One day the girl went to the husband's study (he was a professor or genius), he had a chalk board with a lot of figures on it. She erased it, she did not know the figures were so important to the man. He got very mad and she ran away. They found her on the beach. I think the little girl had a toy horse with her.

Result: The Bermuda Depths (1978) (TV) produced by rankin-Bass. starring Leigh McCloskey, Carl weathers, Connie Seleca. Thanx Marphisa, 5x5.

I saw a movie in the early 80's I believe. It was about a girl that was a love interest to this guy. I think she encouraged him about not hunting marine life like turtles or whales, (I'm not sure what creature). One day he shot an arrow at a large sea turtle(?) or a whale9?) and hit it in the fin, and the girl later turned up with a wound on her leg, suggesting she was that creature in the water. I was really young and didn't see it all only a small portion. I remember my elder siblings and Mom really enjoying the movie but they didn't have any memory of it at all when I asked. I remember there was a sad element to it. Maybe the girl dies.

Result: My Mother Was Never A Kid (1981) (TV). Thanx Marphisa.

I'm looking for a title of a movie that might have been an after school special from the 80's. It was about a rebellious teenager with a very strict mom and one day the teenager (girl) is getting on a bus but falls somehow and hits her head and goes back in time to when her mom was a teenager and actually befriends her. By hanging around her "teen" mother she finds out her mom wasn't so proper, and I don't know what happens later.

Result: Mio In The Land Of Faraway (1987) . Thanx Mysty(submitter).

I am looking for a children's fantasy movie title that may have come out in the 80s or earlier. It's in color, live-action, and it's about a boy (possibly an orphan) who is trapped in some sort of child labor based setup where hair is used to make paintbrushes or something. Then somehow he is transported to an alternate dimension where he receives a magic sword from a magic blacksmith as well as a cloak of invisibility. he then travels to a castle where some evil person throws him in a tower where the floor is slowly coming apart (I think) to reveal a horrible deathtrap below. Needless to say, he escapes (and there may be another character with him at this point)...and he is able to defeat the evil person by turning them to stone or something.

It was a cool movie because of how awesome that dobby was.

It was a movie about a family who gets taken hostage in their own home it was 4 or 5 guys, with guns and i know they had a one story house, their son was either hiding from the bad men or trying to rescue his family. I remember quite vividly the part where one of the younger more cutier guys took the oldest daughter into a room and had his way with her. i think the bad guys were after something of value to the family and the i think the dad wasnt home. it was in color and i saw it on cable tv. i hope you could help even if you get a short list i wouldnt mind watching them all until i find it.

Result: The House Where Evil Dwells (1982) . Thanx Marphisa.

I saw this film in the late seventies or early eighties when I was child. It involved an Asian haunted house. At the beginning the asian wife cheated on her husband, and I think he killed her with a sword then himself. Flashforward to now, an American family move in the house and begin to have problems. Towards the end, their little girl climbs a tree to escape scorpions and the husband and wife repeat the killing sword cycle.

Result: Solarbabies (1986) . Thanx Marphisa.

Okay, one other movie I'd like to figure out was a live-action film probably from the 80s. It had a group of children (in a "Mad Maxish" type of world) that were enslaved or captured or something but they had a glowing whitish orb with them. Also the bad guys, in their hide-out had a table sort of device that created illusions of torture that seemed real. Such as: making an enemy think they had ants crawling all over their body, or threatening someone by holding their hand over the table to make it seem that their skin was peeling off. That table and those illusions freaked me out as a kid and I imaginatively thought that that table could be disguised as everyday platforms like my bed or the bottom of the tub, so I was naturally really afraid of my bed and taking baths for a while.

Result: Reunion (1994) (TV) starring Marlo Thomas. Thanx Marphisa.

Possibly tv movie, late 80's or early 90's, color. Key actress reminds me of Sally Fields but it isn't her. The movie was about a family with two fraternal twins about 3 - 5 years old. The son goes to sleep and wakes up strangled by the strings on his wooden horse. Very sad. However, his spirit comes back to visit his mom and everyone thinks she's crazy. The son doesn't really know he's dead or he doesn't want to go yet. The mom misses him so much, she was going to kill herself and her daughter just to be with him. Her daughter doesn't know and she asks her mom if her mom would be with her when she gets married. Mom realizes she's selfish then she goes out to talk one last time with her already dead son and asks him to go on and she will meet him again.

Result: Let's Scare Jessica To Death (1971) . Thanx Marphisa.

I believe I saw this t.v. movie in the 70's or very early 80's. I believe a couple lived or was staying in the house on a lake (or pond) and another female (maybe a stranger/visitor) that was staying with them was a ghost unbeknowst to them at the time. I think they tried to kick her out or asked her to leave at one point, she may have been getting to cozy. There was a scary scene when one of the occupants of the house went swimming in the lake and the ghost lady was underwater in white (with her eyes opened, I think). It had the pace of an Amityville.

Result: The Christmas Tree aka When wolves cry starring William Holden. Thanx Kesubar.

I saw a color film in the 70s/80s (cant remember exactly when/where) and cannot for the life of me remember its name... Its all about a young boy who is dying of something (cancer maybe) and his dad decides to 'grant' his dying wishes. The main wish I rememebr is the lad wants some wolves, so he gets some and forms a bond with them. The other wish I remember is that right at the end, he is dying, and wants to go on a fairground ride, so his dad (and dads wife/girlfriend) get a fairground (amusement park or something like that) to open up even though its late. The three of them go on a ride, and the boy dies whilst on the ride. At the moment he dies, the wolves back at his house start howling. A real tearjerker (for me anyway!)

I saw this movie in the 1980's (early to mid 80's). This is what I remember: I teenage boy and a teenage girl go out walking and somehow he pushed her or she stumbled and hit her head on a rock and died. To hide from possible blame I believe another teenage girl(?) takes him home where he lives with his mother. He hides for a long time in the walls of the home and can see out into the house through small peek holes in the walls. Eventually his mother dies and a new family lives in the house. He stays there for some time undetected by the new family and he spies on them through the peek holes.

I am trying to remember the name of a movie (I believe it was foreign--French?) that followed a journalist who travels with a group to N. Africa--I don't remember why. I saw it on video between 1995-1998. All I really remember about the film is that someone is driving recklessly in the desert and kills a member of a local tribe. (Either the tribe members are blue or wear blue clothing.) In retribution, the tribe kills a member of the group. (I believe the journalists were going to go for help, but wanted the tribe to know they were not just running away, so they left a female behind to show they were coming back. BUT the tribe thought it was "payment" for the death and attacked the girl.)

Result: Addicted To Love (1997) Matthew Broderick uses a camera obscura to spy on his ex-girlfriend. Thanx Marphisa, Mini Me, 5x5.

I'm trying to find the name of a movie I saw in the theater about 12~14 years ago (1991-1993?). I can only remember it involved a guy who (detective?) is watching over (or being a voyeur?) a woman across the street in another apartment complex from his, through her window. He doesn't want to stand in his window and be obvious that he's watching her, so he rigs up this really cool optical projection device using what looked like a bunch of old spherical lenses and mechanical arms to hold them in position. The "projector" allowed him to zoom in on her apartment window like a telescope, and project the live image of her in her apartment on his livingroom wall, where he watched from his couch. It worked at night, and in the daytime. It was a really cool device. I've tried to describe this device to several friends, but the movie would be much easier to show them!

Result: Unico In The Island Of Magic (1983) Thanx Amy.

I have a memory of this cartoon that I am pretty sure I saw on one of those weekend morning shows like Weekend Special on ABC or something like that. Now, it's been a long time since I saw it, like 15 years, and my memory is probably off on a lot of details so here goes: There was a little girl and her older brother (I remember them being blonde I think) and there was this bad guy who I don't remember what he looked like (for some reason I superimposed count Chocula in his place) but the guy was wearing red robes I think, but I DO remember him floating around in a sheer pink bubble. And there were two scenes in particular that stand out in my mind. In one scene, the girl and her brother were walking down a long hallway with the bad guy floating in his bubble and he had turned all of the townspeople and the boy and girl's parents into some sort of building blocks for this castle or hallway they were in, but the people still looked like themselves, but just they linked together like flat puzzle pieces almost. Eventually, the girl's brother was changed into one as well, but for some reason, she never was. The other scene I remember was at the end: the little girl was standing on the sandy shore of a beach or something and as the waves were ! hitting the shore, this wooden doll was being pushed about by the lapping waves on the sand. She picked it up and was holding it in her arms and acting almost sad and I remember being angry at her because it was really the bad guy but his true form was the doll. But for some reason, he was the harmless doll at this point and was no longer a threat but I was still mad that she could feel sorry for the thing that caused her the heartache to begin with. PLEASE, if anyone knows what this cartoon was or if it sounds familiar, please let me know. Email me any info and put "Find that Film" in the subject. shortychan85@hotmail.com

Result: Clean Slate (1994) . Thanx Mini Me.

I guarantee my description of the movie will sound vague as it is actually for a friend of mine who described it to me but she saw this movie around 2000, in color. It involved a man who suffered from memory loss and for some reason was paired up with a dog name Baby. She mentioned there was a plot to kill someone or the man himself was being chased and the dog would always wind up getting hurt and was somehow the link to the man's memory. Every morning (a la 50 First Dates) he would forget what happened the day before and the dog (Baby) would still be there. I suppose the movie involved him trying to piece parts of his memories together.
