At xmas when he buys his xmas tree he finds out his grandfather always delivered a tree to an old persons home and this is where the grandson finds the name in the diary that of the lady that killed his parents and all these years his grandfather had forgiven her and looked after her in the home. I do not know of the actors names but the grandmother was played by a prominent american actor.

Result: Just Before Dawn (1981) with George Kennedy, Gregg Henry, Chris Lemmon, and Jamie Rose. I recently watched this on Youtube. Thanx Predator, goblyn, Alli, RomanyX. Nov 19, 2007

I saw this movie in the early to mid 1980s (1983/84/85) on 'The Movie Channel' about a pair of deformed mountain men who go on a killing rampage of teenage/early 20s campers. They use a large ridged knife and wear plaid shirts, down vests, etc. They are rather large and creepy. I thought the title had something like "darkest before dawn" in it, but I can't seem to find it. No real big names or actors who stand out. I remember the begining where a guy goes into an abandoned hunting shack where he is murdered. His friend is waiting outside for him. When the deformed creature comes out, he is wearing his friend's clothes (hat, vest, etc). When the guy realizes it isn't his friend, he turns to run, only to get murdered by the killer's deformed twin brother. Wierd. The one scene that really stands out in my mind is when one of the cratures takes a whistle off a murder victim and approaches a campfire where one of the remaining female characters sits, shivering. The creature approaches, squats down beside her and blows the whistle. SUPER creepy. This was a very LOW BUDGET horror flick, but no less scary than anything else that came out at that time.

I keep remembering scenes from a horror film I saw somewhere between 1990 and 1993, though I can't remember how old the film was. I had a black and white TV then, so I can't tell whether it was a color movie or not. What I can remember: something about a crew sent to some planet to do I don't know what. The bad guys were aliens in the shapes of rocks from what I recall, and when they approached unaware victims, the camera was their POV. I think they had one eye or something, or one hole anyway, through which they could see, because their POV was a diffuse dircle in the middle of the screen, through which you could see the victims being watched. One other thing I remember is that after the victims were killed (they wore astronaut suits), their body deflated and there was nothing left in the suit, maybe just skin.Lastly, I remember that in order to protect themselves from the aliens, the crew drew some kind of perimeter surrounding the base, with electricity or something, that prevented the rocks from entering.

In the scene, a vintage 50's-style car begins to very slowly float up into the air. There's at least one person in the car - a guy - and although you are not shown what is happening to him, he is screaming bloody murder. It was one of the creepiest scenes I had ever seen. I'm pretty sure the car wasn't being "tractor-beamed" by a UFO, or anything... it just seemed to float up in the air for no other purpose than to make the scene extra-creepy and weird. Why the guy was screaming is also a mystery... there wasn't a monster in the car with him, or anything... there was just some inexplicable horror at work. Perhaps the movie was set in an alternate version of Earth's reality, or something?? I can't remember if the movie itself was from the fifties, if it took place in the fifties, or if it was just a fifties car... I can't even remember if it was in black-and-white or not. I am 36 years old now, and I couldn't have been any older than twelve or thirteen, so I'm thinking the movie is at LEAST 20 years old, perhaps even 40 or 50. If anyone knows what this film is, I will have a heart-attack.

And in the last part of the movie, the mother and her baby were saved by an entrusted person of the old century guy. it is a colored movie and is around the year 1970-1980?

Im trying to recall a film i saw in the 90's. A religious family (i beleive there are 4 girls and maybe a boy as the children) and the grandparents move into a house and the mum is doing laundry one day when she hears her own mother calling her then sees a black image dancing on the walls. The family understands they are haunted and try to leave the house but the spirits follow them wherever. Scenes i can remember from the film include the mother and daughters singing amazing grace in the kitchen before the youngests communion, the father being "raped" by a female ghost, the family going camping and returning to the neighbours complaining the house had been nosiy all weekend and the fact that the house is haunted by at least 4 spirits.

No one of any note was in it, except for scream queen Debbie Rochon in a small role. Thanx Midnight Creeper. Dec 3, 2007

I saw this movie on cable in the 8o's. I think its a Italian movie. Its about a little girl in an apartment building. Her mother is mean and abusive. The mother makes her go outside and play after threatening her with a hot iron. Then when she plays jump rope with the other girls, they try to strangle her with it. The abusive mother eventually kills the father and the mother goes after the little girl. Then thay have a "prensent" type of setting (in the eighties), shes all grown up now. She still has some issues from her past. Her brother is now a priest but wants nothing to do with her and blames her for their fathers death. Later in the film she meets a man, a photographer. He later in the film takes her to a party at the apartment she grew up in. Weird things start going on at the party till finally shes cornered on the roof of the apartment building and they all expalin to her that she was supposed to die in that buliding. She fell off the roof. The end of the movie shows the same photographer meeting a new girl, that hes probably going to do the same thing to. It was in the mid 80's, and probably foreign beacuse of the fasions and the scenery. Im guessiing Italian.

I saw a horror movie twice in the 70's on TV. At the time I was a young kid. It was on when they used to have Friday or Saturday night horror movies every weekend. The only thing that sticks in my mind is that a woman's husband had died and was buried in a crypt. It was sort of like a cave with tunnels and there were coffins lying around. I remember the wife is frantically searching for her husbands coffin to remove a ring from his hand. The ring will give the dead husband the power to rise from the dead. I remember a man is helping her search, maybe a new boyfriend? Anyway, while she is trying to remove the ring he opens his eyes. He knows that he has been betrayed and tries to kill her. I remember them barely making it out of the crypt and they jump in a 60's model car to escape. I think the dead husband even rips the door off the car. Now that I'm an adult and love horror movies, I'd like to locate this movie or at least know the name of it so I can set my Ti-VO to catch it if it is ever on.

the film showed on TV 2 or TV 3 here in New Zealand about 2-4 months ago (at the beginning of 2007) It aired lat at night on a Saturday. The film starts with some kids (teens) coming out of a classic american yellow school bus, and they arrive at this camp, where there is a lake and there are people already there playing games and such. This guy is all alone and this girl comes up to him says hi and leaves... (I think)The camp leader is very strict, and goes a bit crazy at the end of the film. The kids at the camp end up taking over the camp and there is a small storm, where everyone is forced to go inside a hall, and they sort of dance (I guess..)oh and at the end this guy and girl full in love and kiss in the forrest (which is all around the camp) and some of the other kids saw that so they chuck water or them... then there is a water fight, and i think that is then end.

I saw this movie in the early 90's when I was a kid and it's forever etched in my head. There's a teen girl who gets raped by her uncle I believe. He normally tucks her in at night but one night decided to rape her. There was another scene where she is frantically washing her sheets in the bath tub and her mom walks in on her and assumes she got her period I believe, but the teen is irrate and yells at the mom to leave. The teen then commits suicide by hanging herself from a tree I believe in their backyard. I remember there was also a scene where she has a friend who I think is homeless and lives out of a broken down car? And he tries to kiss her at one point and that sends her over the edge. Any thoughts? I believe they are a Hipanic family? But i'm not sure.

I have a childhood memory of sneaking in the room and watching a movie that my parents were watching on TV - aired in the 70's - black and white film seemed like it was late filed in say 50's - 60's era. Police were trying to track down a murderer. I think it ended up to be this handsome young man seemingly good guy - not the one expected. But anyway, it involved a french policeman and a scary final chase scene in the woods. I belive the crime was young women were being raped, strangled... by this guy. It was very scary to me as a kid, but the scenes are so vivid. The policeman was French but the film may have been British. The build up in the end was this rush to try to catch this guy - The Police running thorugh the woods on foot, to catch this guy before he killed a woman. He lured young women by seeming to be this handsome, romatic young man.. women would go with him - in his car, and then he drove into the woods to be alone with them for seemingly romantic notions, but he then he killed them... so the last scene is the final chase down to catch him before he kills this young woman ...

The best I remember this was an early 80's movie, I know it was color. I only really remember a boy being chased and runs into a wall, and he starts feeling around and finds a door handle, and opens it up, when he closes it, he is inside of a trailer being pulled by a pick up. I remember he takes off his hat and is actually a girl. Another part is toward the end, man is in a building, and he looks through a window and sees two men in suits with an air supply hooked up to them. He finds where the air going into the suit is, and swaps the hoses and a liquid fills the suits up that the men have on. And the last thing I can remember is at the very end a man in an oversized mask, possibly a baby face on mask, but it was very large, and he took it off. Strange sounding movie, but I would love to know what it is.

I saw this movie when I was a kid and I think it was black and white and would have been 1960's-1970's. From what I can remember it was about two rocking horses which get separated. One rocking horse is in a little girls bedroom (I think that the family had just moved into the house) and it is possessed (the rocking horse). I remember seeing this movie around 1980. I think it was on HBO or Cinemax around Halloween, late at night, when they ran horror/suspense films back to back. It looked to be set in the present (late 70's early 80's) based on the station wagon with the "wood" siding on it I seem to recall. I remember a station wagon swerving to avoid hitting a young boy, that turns out to be a ghost. I also remember a large house, 2-3 stories tall. One of the roofs had a peak with either a weather vane or a cross on top. One of the characters from the movie is out on the upper roof, either escaping something evil by climbing out the window, or they were trying to help someone else trapped on the roof. The person slips, and is impaled by the spike sticking up from the weather vane. I think it sticks through the neck or head/eye socket. That's the only gory image I really remember.

B&W movie, probably 50's - College campus I think. 2 students in a car, stop when they see/hear a "meteor" crash to earth. Go and investigate, find a pod, pod opens and out jumps something. They end up being large, slimy creatures that look like huge bloodsuckers that take humans over by jumping into their mouths and attaching themselves to the spine. Only way to get rid of them is with heat. Only way to "fry" the alliens without killing the host is in a very hot room. I think final sequence is in a basement with a furnace that gets turned up really high.

I am looking for a movie I recall seeing when I was really young. It has stayed with me and would love to see it again and see just what was so scary about it! I believe the year was in the 1990's. I do not know an exact year but definitely between 1990 to 1997. It is in color and it had an anthropological theme. The guy who played Colombo may have been one of the characters but I am not sure. Basically it is a mystery thriller and end the very end the children they have been looking for end up as part of the cave paintings being investigated. The cave painting actually comes to life and moves and you can see it is dragging something. I also remember there being an older woman like 50 to 60 years old who is helping with the investigation.

Not much to go on, what made the biggest impression on me was the horror of her screams for help, I had nightmares about it.

I saw this movie numerous times on TV right around 1980, give or take five years (sorry for the inaccuracy), but tend to think it is more likely in the 80's than the 70's. Definitely inspired by the 'Deliverance' theme. Not sure if this was a made-for-TV or cable movie. It was a color movie. Here are the vague impressions that I remember. Two or three city-slicker guys go on some kind of road trip together and wind up having a pit stop in some backwoods honky tonk where they piss off some of the locals (or find out something they shouldn't have??). Don't know if they are killed or abducted or ?? but something bad happens to them at the hands of the locals. Then, either their wives/girlfriends start to think something bad has happened to them or maybe they were supposed to meet up with the guys later on, but for whatever reason, the girls come out after the guys. The 'lead' actress is definitely a brunette, kind of a young Susan Lucci look. The gals stumble upon the same backwoods clan in the search for their guys. I'm not sure if this clan was a criminal group (like moonshiners or sex traffikers) or just a bunch of inbred hillbillies, but they lived as a small family/community in the woods/mountains. In any event, they kidnap the city gals and hold them tied up in their backwoods huts for the implied purpose of sex and domestic slavery (maybe eventual sale into sex slavery?) and further abuse...The girls are 'befriended' or 'warned' by one of the clan women already there and somehow trick her or use her help to escape (or maybe one of the husbands finds them??). In any event, the kidnapped girls turn on the clan members and start to kill them for revenge (or to escape)...I'm pretty certain one uses a bow and arrow (or maybe dynamite?), although I might be confusing that detail with another movie (maybe "Mother's Day")...that's all I remember, but I know I saw the movie more than once, and can find neither hide nor hair of this movie when searching the web using all kinds of keywords.

I remember this film from when i was a young kid. I guess it was late 70's early 80's. It involved a number of people trapped in a house (can't remember why they were there). One by one they all get killed in various gory ways. I remember something to do with a microwave (possibly a head in a microwave), someone being stuck in a chair and some kind of power tool attacking them. Towards the end of the film, the shutters on the windows open and they think they can get out, but one tries and gets trapped. I think the very end of the film ends up in the basement of the house and something to do with hell! I remember at the time i thought it was brilliant, but i was young.

This movie isn't really scary film, but it is a family halloween movie. I use to see it on tv when i was younger, im guessing it was made in the late 80s or early 90s. It is about a bunch of girls (i think they are witches) in a boarding school or witch training school. The girls are divided into teams for a game of who can scare the other team the most. The points are counted by the screams of the girls and I remember they had certain rules for the game, like they weren't allowed to use masks. There was one girl, the bully of the movie who would always cheat though and never get caught.

I saw this black & white (made in the 50's ?) american movie probably in the late 70' early 80's (on television). It's a story of this very sick young woman who happens to live in an apartment and has a drunken artistic old gentleman as a neighbor (both Caucasian) whom she shares her fear of dyeing with. She seems fixated on every leaf as they fall off a tree that is located outside her window, every time a leaf falls off she thinks she's one step closer to death. As winter rolls around, one leaf is left hanging on the tree, as it's about to fall off she is staring at it intently, as she holds her breath, and as the last leaf begins to fall to the ground she is surprised by an identical image of the "last leaf" behind it painted on the wall by her drunken artistic neighbor, in order that she will not fear her immediate death. As she runs out of her apartment, happy to be alive & to share the news with her artistic drunken neighbor, but is only devastated to see him laying on the staircase-dead. I think he made a pack-His life for hers.

It was a musical film; love story (with dancing and singing) I think some of it was in black and white and some of it was in colour. There was a woman/ maiden in it with red hair, it was set in a castle, i think the castle was meant to be in Ireland, as there may have been reference to a rainbow. There are two travelers who come accross the maiden, I thought one of them was Bing Crosby but i can't find anything on his site. The traveler could be dreaming the whole thing. There is a sword fight in it. And it isn't Brigadoone!

They pretend they don't remember her and make her seem like she's crazy. In the end the husband isn't dead. He wanted to get rid of his wife. When I was a kid (late '70's/ early '80's) I once saw a movie on TV (it may have been made-for-tv) that left a lasting impression & I'd love to see again. I've asked alot of movie buffs, but no one seems to remember such a film so, here goes: To the best of my memory, it was B&W. The leading man was possibly a cop or a detective. I distinctly remember that the female lead (possibly his partner or girlfriend) had a wristwatch that played a tune when it's alarm sounded. For some reason they visited or were investigating a dark, creepy old house. I dont remember why they initially went there but, by the end of the film, the partner/ girlfriend was missing and the man went there searching for her. The person(s) living there denied having seen the missing woman and I remember it being quite suspenseful. I just KNEW she was in that house and if the man had didnt find her quickly she would die or, worse, was already dead. Unable to find her, the man had no choice but to leave. He was almost out the door when he heard a faint noise - It was the woman's watch alarm, sounding from somewhere inside the house. He frantically followed the sound until he found her - She'd been bricked up inside a wall! Pretty creepy stuff for a 10 year old kid up WAY past her bedtime!

I saw this movie on T.V. somtime in the 70's. I believe it was at least 20 or 30 years older than that and I think it was in black and white. The story was of a wealthy man whose wife had died and leaving him with their daughter. Latter it turns out that the wife was not the girls real mother as the father had had an affair and that woman had bee the real mother. This woman had died after giving birth to the girl at the house. The girl grew up believing that the wrong woman was her mother. It could be that the man took the child away and they were now coming back to the house after years of absence. I can remember a scene where the father is ill in bed and the ghost of his dead wife is forming behind the daughter as she kneels down talking to him. He can see the evil spirit forming behind his daughter but is too weak to warn her.

I saw portions of this film on cable a few years ago: A man is injured in the wilderness, with a badly broken leg. I think it's set in Canada or the northeastern colonial America, sometime in the mid or late 18th century. He is a crew member or officer from a ship, which for some reason is being pulled across dry land - I can't remember if the crew are pulling it, or a team of horses. The man struggles to survive against native American attacks, wild animals, winter weather, and starvation. He follows the ship, but for some reason cannot let himself be discovered by the captain or crew. In fact, there is some kind of beef between himself and the (sadistic? insane?) captain, and I think the man set set on revenge. Meanwhile, the ship continues to be trundled across the wilderness - very bizarre.I have never seen either the beginning or the end, but I would love to see the whole surreal thing from beginning to end. I thought the name of the movie was "The Ship" but I can't find anything like a movie with this plot synopsis on IMDB, Blockbuster, or any other site. I think the film was made sometime around 10 years ago, and may or may not have be released in theaters.

This may be an odd request, my husband is trying hard to recall a film he saw about 5 yrs ago. He thinks a comedian from Mtv named Breuer was in it. Not sure if this is able to be found, but if so...it would settle tons of arguments around my home.

I saw this movie in the mid- to late-1980's; I believe it must have been on TV because I was much to young to have seen it at the theatre at that time, but the movie could have been either made-for-TV or a network airing of a theatre-released film. It was definetely in color and I have the feeling that it wasn't that old when I saw it...but I could be wrong. The only parts I distinctly remember are these two children (I think a girl and a boy, possibly brother and sister) have a playhouse. They take people they don't like into the playhouse and by repeating the phrase "I Hate You" over and over, the playhouse wall opens up and absorbs the unfortunate victim. If I remember correctly (and my memory is quite fuzzy due to passing years and my age at the time), the playhouse's downfall was when it decided it wanted the children's parents...either that or it tried to split the children up and make the sister hate the brother...something along those lines. In the end, I believe the children couldn't go through with it and started to say "I Love You," and everyone that the house had eaten miraculously returned. The only other detail I seem to remember (although I suppose this could be my memory embellishing over the years or a result of a very over-active imagination at the time of viewing) is that, with each new victim, the playhouse would get bigger, or better, or offer some sort of coveted reward to the children who were bringing in the victims as an incentive. At the end, after all the victims had been returned, the playhouse returned to its humble beginnings, losing all the size and influence it had gained. Perhaps the playhouse is burned down or collapses or has some sort of final end...I don't recall.

Color movie seen twice on primetime network television (probably ABC) in the mid to late 1980s. I was only about 6, so my memory and understanding may be fuzzy. Here is what I am certain of: Men and women were on a boat together. There was tension and violence. One of the men killed another man by causing him to be chopped up by the boat prop. The water filled with blood. If it doesn't have this scene, it isn't the right movie. What I'm not certain of, but think: There were at least two couples and some singles. There was a rivalry for the attentions of one woman. One of the women may have had red hair. I believe they had found a shipwreck or something else valuable under the water, and greed over that is what led to the violence. I don't know how many lived or died, but I think they had to be rescued. It could have been made and set anywhere from 1970-1990, but I think I saw it between 1985-88. It's definitely not newer than 1990, and I doubt it's that recent.

Result: Alfred Hitchcock Hour (1965) Where the Woodbine Twineth episode of the TV series. Thanx Midnight Creeper. Nov 1, 2007

tv show, probably something like a twilight zone or outer limits episode or something along those lines. The story line is about a young girl who gets a life size doll for christmas. Both the girl and the doll wear dresses and their hair is in ringlets. The girl takes the doll outsde to play. Outside is a large yard with a wrought iron bench around a tree and bushes nearby. When the doll is taken out of the box it comes to life and the girl and the doll play together happily. I think this happens several time but once the doll refuses to get back in the box and instead manages to get the girl in the box, where she turns into a doll.

I am looking for a movie that would have likely have been produced in the 70's and was probably a made for tv movie. The basic plot is that there is a heatwave around the world being caused by some sort of cosmic event or object. The only hope for the world is to be able to redirect or break up the object or band of objects causing the problem. They determine that the only way that the correct trajectory can be obtained is from a submarine. It then becomes a race against time.
