Result: Fun (1994) starring Alicia Witt. Based on a true story. Thanx goryampage, Alli. Jul 25, 2007

My friend is looking for a film he saw the last 30 minutes off. It involved two young girls in a very close relationship (non-sexual) daring each other to do things eventually leading to them killing an old woman (a stranger) in her home. Both end up arrested and are put in to a mental hospital. One escapes from the ward and they meet in the hospital then she is sent away to another hospital. Then she commits suicide. He bought Heavenly Creatures after being told it was that but it isn't!Film is set around 1990ish time and seems to be in America, possibly Canada.

Result: The Sitter (1991) (TV) starring Kim Myers and Brett Cullen. It's based on a novel by Charlotte Armstrong, and is a recycling of the 1952 Marilyn Monroe vehicle "Don't Bother to Knock". Thanx Midnight Creeper. Aug 6, 2007

I saw the movie in the late 90's but the clothes and makeup kinda reminded me of the 80's. It was about a babysitter or au pair who goes to work for a family. They have a small girl. I'm not sure but i think the parents are staying at a hotel and the babysitter watches over the girl while the parents go out. The babysitter and the girl roam around and meet a young man who thinks the babysitter is the girl's mother. I think there were few young men in the movie. I also remember the babysitter killed someone earlier in the film. I just remember one man goes back to the hotel room and the babysitter tells the man to get down on his knee. He starts making sexual advances and she gets upset b/c she is delusional and thought that he was going to propose to her. He tells her she's crazy and leaves and goes to the hotel bar. I guess he learns that the girl isn't her daughter and that she's some crazy psychopath that killed someone. So he says "OMG she still has the kid with her" so he rushes to find her and the child. The last scene of the movie has the delusional babysitter walking on the roof with the kid. The kid was given a marble by someone in the movie and the babysitter says there are more marbles like it on the moon but they have to jump to get there. Someone grabs teh little girl off the edge of the roof but she drops the marlble so the babysitter goes to catch it and instead jumps off the roof. as she lays dying on the sidewalk she still is talking about her delusions of the girl really being her daughter and that man marrying her. i originally thought jennifer blanc played the babysitter b/c the actress reminded me of her, but it's not her.

Probably the late 60's, possibly early 70's I saw a movie on TV. It was black and white (but I think our TV was B/W so that might not be useful. It was about a Mexican boy and his Chihuahua dog. They were going somewhere alone...running from somewhere? Running to somewhere? I remember it being sad. It was hot, they were tired, hungry. At some point hopped a ride in the back of a covered truck.

I saw this movie on TV back in 97'. Its an american film and its in color. I can't remember much of the plot, or movie just the creatures. They had these spikes on them that paralzed people. I think they can retract the spikes but I'm not positive. I remember a scene where they were attacking a family and the mom or daughter [some female] was stuck by them and fell on the couch and the rest of the family tried to fight them off.

This was a made for TV mini-series about a Airforce pilot that promised to marry a young lady he had an affair with. She bought a wedding dress and waited for him, but he never came back for her. She used her good looks to meet the right people. She married a rich man and he was looking for a pilot to fly his plane. The pilot that showed up was the the man that promised to marry her. They had an affair, despite the fact they were both married. She wanted him to kill his wife, but he wanted no part of it. HIs wife overheard them talking about getting rid of her, so she went to the womans husband for help. He hid her out and and when she didnt come home, her husband reported her missing. The police found out about the affair and accused the two of killing her. Her husband convinced her to plead guilty and she would get less time in prison. They both pleaded guilty and got the firing squad. The husband knew the girl wasnt dead, but he wanted to get even with both of them. He was a very powerful man.

Result: La Turbulence Des Fluides (2002) aka Chaos and Desire French Canadian film Thanx Midnight Creeper. Dec 28, 2007

I'm searching for a French language film produced most likely within the past eight or so years. The story concerns a woman who, through her work as a some sort of scientist, is forced to return to her hometown. (Small seaside or lakeside town; was probably in Quebec). Something out-of the ordinary is occurring at the town's beaches, and the woman is recruited to investigate. She soon discovers, however, that strange things are occurring throughout the entire town. Places she visits throughout the film include a convent (in the basement of which I believe was a large, antiquated seismology machine) and a diner, which she visits only late at night. She discovers that the phenomena occurring throughout the town are connected to the drowning death of the wife of Mr. Love-Interest, which occurred some months before the film. Her body, having lain at the bottom of a river, was sucked up by a fire-fighting aircraft (plane? helicopter?) and deposited inland.

Result: Walkabout (1971) Nicolas Roeg film starring Jenny Agutter. It's set in Australia, and the two white children are guided by an Aborigine. It might have been on the "new" shelf in the late Nineties because that's when the DVD was released. Thanx Midnight Creeper, fishrockcarving, RomanyX. Jul 24, 2007

It is about a young/teen white boy and girl (English/American?) traveling through lands (I can't remember if it's a desert or not, but it's not Disney). I think it's foreign, or at least a drama, and it was in Blockbuster around 1997-1998 on the new shelves. The boy and girl had a black (African?) guide, and I remember the girl and them get naked and go swimming in a river or something. Then at the end, the girl is in her later life. It does not show her face, only her making dinner, smoking a cigarette, and then remembering/flashing back to that time they were swimming.

I remember a movie from the very early nineties which was about a boy who was forced to go to africa with his father ( i think ) and he met a girl who also lived there. Her dad was in charge of setting off explosives (possibly landmines). From what I remember, they got lost and had to survive and eventually an attraction began between the two of them. I know this is very vague, but it is all I can muster from my early nineties brain ;-)

Result: Lang Man Feng Bao aka Somebody Up There Likes Me and stars Aaron Kwok. It turns out one of my Chinese friends had happpened to see it. Also, the English title is a somewhat homage to the Paul Newman movie of the same name where I think he plays Rocky Graziano. Thanx poster. Aug 9, 2007

This is a Chinese kickboxing movie, probably coming from Hong Kong as I seem to recall the characters speaking Cantonese. I recall watching it in the late 90's. The story revolves around a Chinese kickboxer and his girlfriend, whose brother is also a kickboxer. He is very good, but is sick (always coughs out blood) so he shouldn't be competing but does anyway. Anyway, the kickboxer eventually has to fight his girl's brother in the ring. They duke it out, and the main character eventually wins when he either uppercuts or knees the guy in the chin so hard he flies up and the back of his head hits the ring post. He then goes to the hospital where the girlfriend has found out that her brother is dead. She grabs something that's glass and smashes it on the hero's head. The story continues on, and the hero eventually gets a fight with the Japanese kickboxing champion. The fight is won, when the hero is struck so hard in the gut, that he coughs out blood onto the Japanese champ's face, blinding him. After the bell, the Japanese requests a rematch, and the hero tells him anytime. He's hoisted onto his cornermen's shoulders, where, after about a second, he feints/goes unconscious. The final scene shows him in something like a coma where the girlfriend is by his side crying softly, holding his hand, and telling him what a wonderful life they're going to have. As she's talking, the hero flatlines. Pretty good story for a fight flick.

Result: The Horror Show (1989) Thanx RomanyX. Jul 26, 2007

This was a horror movie in the very late 80s or very early 90s. It takes place in the suburbs and there's a father who I think maybe going crazy. I thought it was maybe Lance Henriksen, but I checked his IMDB record already. The most I can remember is there's an axe involved and the father's teenage son gets killed with it. I'm not sure by who. The father ends up very sweaty (maybe from being around a basement furnace??) and bloody throughout the movie. Then the son miraculously ends up alive at the end outside by the car, in what might be a dream sequence or not. It's not one of the The Stepfather movies, it was a stand-alone movie.

Result: Lady In White (1988) starring Lukas Haas. It is Lukas Haas as the little boy that sees the girl ghost and is trapped in the classroom coat closet where he sees the ghost girl, and she does hum a tune that the killer sang. Thanx Laura, Alli, goblyn. Jul 16, 2007

I'm looking for a movie that was made in the mid to late 80's. It was about a little girl and she keeps seeing a vision of another little girl (Ghost Girl) in this closet. It turns out this little alive girl keeps seeing the ghost girl in this closet that she is always playing in. The ghost girl keeps coming to this closet because of a necklace or ring that is in a grate in the floor that fell from her when she was killed. This ghost girl always hums or whistles a certain song when in this closet and this tune is what leads the alive girl to find out that this guy who is the janitor and maybe an uncle to the alive girl, killed this ghost girl because he whistles the same tune. This guy also apparently killed the mom of either the alive girl or ghost girl by throwing her over a cliff. The mom becomes a ghost as well.

Thanx Alli. Jul 16, 2007

It's an older movie maybe 70's or 80's and it's about a few people staying in the woods either camping or in an abandoned house and someone kills them and eats them. Another seen from this movie has a cop talking with the killer and reaching in a cooler or something like that full of ice and body parts. The cop reaches in the ice and eats some of it but doesn't notice the body parts.

I'm looking for the name of the T.V. movie also from the 70's or so, that was about a Werewolf family, some regular man had fallen in love with the werewolf lady; she didn't tell him about herself, but one of his friends figured it out, and warned him. The way to tell her from a human was he had to see her first finger, if it was longer than the rest, it meant she was a werewolf. She always warned him to be inside before dusk however, so she obviously didn't want to have her family rip him apart.

Result: House Of The Seven Corpses (1974) starring John Carradine and Faith Domergue. Thanx Stareater. Jul 21, 2007

Color horror movie aired on TV in mid to late 1970's but not necessarily a made for TV movie. It was about accidents and "murders" occurring during the filming of some horror movie on an old estate with a black and white checkered tile floor in the mansion.Yes-I think it was a horror movie about the filming of a horror movie...if that is what it was.Actors and production crew dying off? One scene I remember is a bald Caucasian heavyset "actor" of the production crew dressed in a black tux (with a white scarf?) being shot to death by a neurotic woman (main character?)from the top of a majestic marble staircase. He bleeds to death on that black and white tile floor. It may have been a mistaken killing on the woman's part as the real killer is someone else.I think a dog or some pet was mutilated and there may have been a graveyard burial scene in the "movie" in this movie...Maybe a supernatural element involved.

Result: Where Have All The People Gone? (TV) with Kathleen Quinlan and Peter Graves. Also a similar film called Night of the Comet (1984) that deals with a comet and people turning to red dust and piles of clothes. This one also has a zombie element to it. Thanx Midnight Creeper, Alli, Stareater. Jul 16, 2007

I remember watching this movie when I was a kid, probably about 10-12 years old (1977-1978). It was one of those movies that is based on the end of the world either by meteor comet, or somethign else from space. People couldnt be outdoors at a certain time during the day or else they would just turn to dust and leave a pile of their clothing behind. Everywhere, in shopping malls, schools, parks, inside cars, there were piles of clothing where the people were at when it happened. THere was a band of survivors who were trying to find other survivors and knew not to get caught out doors at certain times or that would happen to them. I saw it at home on the tv and I am thinking it was in color.

Result: Tales From The Hood (1995) segment with Corbin Bernsen. Thanx Alli, Stareater, goblyn. Jul 16, 2007

I remember seeing the movie when I was about 5 years old, which had to be around '94-'95. The movie was about this bad man (I'm sorry I don't remember why he was bad) who moved into a house where this old black woman used to live and made these little dolls that were about half the height of a Barbie doll. Well, I think she puts her spirit in the dolls or something because when the man has been living in the house for awhile, they come to life and begin causing mischief. In the end of the movie, I very vividly remember the scene where all the dolls come together and eat the man alive. Now, keep in mind, I was a little kid when I saw this, so of course I thought it was scary, so it may not really be considered a scary movie to most. Also, I have a feeling that it was in a series of other short movies all on one VHS tape OR it may have been in a TV series like the Twilight Zone.

Result: Trilogy Of Terror starring Karen Black. One of the three storie lines is about a tiki-type warrior doll. It has a chain on it. When the chain falls off the warrior doll comes to life. Karen Black throws it in the oven to kill it. Before she kills it, it stabs her or bites her and then she becomes "evil". Thanx Julie, Hendu, Alli, Malcam. Jul 17, 2007

Since I have been young I have been looking for an episode I think from night gallery (in color) that has a doll like figure that comes to life with water. This little figure tries to kill a woman but I think she bakes it in a oven. It has a knife or dagger of some sort. I was very young at the time so I hope I have all the facts. This doll like figure looked tribal. Hopefully it was from night gallery but all the research has turned up nothing. If you know of this episode or if it is from something else could you clue me in? I am starting to think that this is in my head.

A movie made in probably the late 80's to mid 90's about two little boys who run away from their mother to live with their real father(?) across the country. They travel by bus, and meet a young woman which the younger boy is convinced to be the "sun-maid" girl (or some similar type name) because of her hat and clothes. At one point, the younger boy hurts his head, and so the older boy fastens a maxi-pad to him in lieu of a bandage. I had thought the young woman was Patricia Arquette, but I've had no luck in her credits.

Result: The Wizard with Fred Savage. Thanx Sarah. Jul 19, 2007

I watched this movie around the early 90's, when I was about 4-6 years old. I believe it began with a little girl being tucked into bed, and her birthday was going to be the next day. That night, after her parents left the room, one of her toy bears (or horses?) got really big and became lifelike, and at first she was scared, but then they became friends. Her brother could hear in the next room, and then they were both taken away to a different land that was very quiet at first, but then a band came marching through. I don't remember a lot of the plot, but i do remember very vividly when it began to rain the little girl went into a nearby cave with all of her party guests (she was wearing a red party dress) and sang "rain rain go away" and it soon went away. At the end she, her brother and the bear do a dance that's like "123 Anycity USA, Anycity USA" and they finally end up back in their house at night again.

Ok...I've asked everyone I know...including my parents with whom I saw the movie with and noone can help me. This was mid to late 80's....saw it on either HBO or Showtime...definately a movie (not made for tv), in color. What I remember is a girl who lives by the beach with her uncle (or grandpa) and she has dark hair and glasses, kind of nerdy. She comes home to find her uncle is not there, and for some reason goes into the basement when she hears a noise and finds a hole in the wall leading to a underground world. A man who looks like a buff miner takes her into the underground world to help her find her uncle, I think the man knows her uncle and that her uncle is an explorer or archeaologist of some sort.

Not to be confused with "The Pagemaster", which also features a kid toppling into a book-world that features pirates. Thanx Midnight Creeper. Jul 16, 2007

I saw this movie (in color) in the early 90's on the Disney channel probably. It was about a young boy who ends up inside the book that he was reading and is being (I think) chased by pirates on an island. The one scene that sticks out the most to me is when he finds a tree (possibly with pizza in it if my friend is correct) that is growing out of a patch of quicksand that is inhabited by a monster of some sort.

#3466

Result: 84 Charing Cross Road starring Anne Bancroft along with Anthony Hopkins, Judi Dench, and Mercedes Ruehl. It is this movie which matches the storyline remembered by the poster. I think the poster may be conflating two movies with virtually the same title (but not the same plot). John Mills was in 1935's "Charing Cross Road". Thanx Midnight Creeper, The Film Goddess. Jul 16, 2007

I saw this film when I was a child and i think it is black and white but it may be early colour. It is based in a book shop in London before during and after the war. It follows the life of one of the men in the shop who strikes up a 'pen pal' relationship with an american woman. She loves books and orders them from the shop. During the war she sends him food parcels. At the end of the war she finally makes it to London but he has died. Everything in the shop is familiar to her becuase it is all described in his letters. I thought it might be John Mills and Anna Brancroft but I am not sure. I think the title is either the name of the shop or the street that it is on?

A 'waiting-in-the-wings' admirer stepped in and supported her during her 'right-to-life' crisis, only to be totally dissed once she had an abortion. I'm looking for a film that I saw in the 90's on the Lifetime network. It features a woman who is bedridden and ill, and hires a nanny (who I think is foreign or something) and then it turns out that the nanny and the woman's husband are sleeping together. She finds this out when she walks in on them having sex at night, but since the woman is in a medicine-induced sleepwalking stupor, she thinks she was dreaming. I think the wife was rich, because it turns out the husband and the nanny are trying to kill her for her money, and the husband keeps giving her pills that are making her sick. I never saw the end.

I'm looking for a bizarre little short film that I saw on TV when I was a kid around the late eighties. I think it was on HBO Short Take, or one of the other movie channels that showed short films in between movies. But it was about two rival groups of witches in New York city who had long, sharp fingernails and wore leather aviator caps. All I remember is that one of the rival witches stole this funky looking idol that the other witches were worshiping and sped off on this really fast, motorized broom. This led to a high-speed chase through the streets of New York on revved up speeder brooms, as the witches tried to get their idol back. I also remember, at one point, they even sped by this Clark Kent-looking fella as he was minding his own business, reading a newspaper, and they accidentally tore his shirt open as they sped by, revealing his Superman 'S'. I know it sounds like some crazy crack-addled dream, but I really got a kick out of that film when I was a kid and I'd like to know where I could find it.

The one scary movie/TV episode that I've never figured out or found on-line was something I saw in the 1970s, in the U.S., on TV. It was probably in color. I think it was a TV film, but it could have been a TV episode. Unfortunately I only remember the final scenes. I believe it was a family setting that involved at least a couple of sisters. Two of the sisters were given matching little toy horses that also rolled: they were like little carts, and the horses were small versions of your classical merry-go-round horse figures. At some point much later in the family history, when the sisters are mostly grown, one of the toy horses comes to life and starts haunting/stalking the family. (This is where my memory gets sketchy.) The movie's/TV show's final scene is an outsider and/or older man helping the family deal with the haunted toy which, of course, moves of its own accord and has actually started threatening their safety. The man helps the family trick the horse into believing it has found its missing mate by using a mirror and the surviving toy horse goes peacefully back into its box/inanimate existence. When the girls were growing up, the missing toy horse was somehow destroyed/discarded; there's simply no way of getting it back; and the surviving toy horse comes to life to find/avenge its mate.

This film, i watched it on TV in about 1996, though because of the quality it seems like it was made in the 1980s. Set in, what i think, the middle of USA, around small villages and in a desert. The movie featured aliens(or some other wierd unkown creatures) they could only see by thermal image and attacked things that was warm. The "heros" was to stop them from getting to villages, which failed(ithink) and got the help of people from the village with guns to help kill them. The "heros" at some point in the movie, had got them cornered in a large building, outside of any towns. One "hero" covered themself in a cool foam or something similar. and sneaked inside to place a bomb. Everyone runs away from the building and it blows up covering the ground around them with blood n guts and bits of building.

I've been wondering about this movie for years and I'm beginning to wonder if I imagined it. It must've been around the mid-late 80's, possibly even 90 or 91, but I tend to doubt it was that late. It's a horror film my parents rented, and I wasn't allowed to watch it, so I'd assume it was rated R. It was American and in color, to get that out of the way. Anyway, I fell asleep on the couch and woke up to them watching this movie, so I don't know much about it. All I remember is a group of teenagers going to this old house or mansion, I believe, and there was a man/demon/monster in a black hooded cloak/robe, with glowing eyes (i think glowing red or green). I vaguely remember him being out on a balcony when one or two of the teenagers run out there, but I could be confused about that. It definitely took place at night, and the teenagers might have even been spending the night there.

A rather short-film set in perhaps the late 1980s which features a backpacker, perhaps from Australia...There isn't much dialogue, just pure action and he is going through the forest until his foot lands in the quicksand...It is a very sad thing because each day he is slowly getting dragged into the quicksand...I'll never forget it! A boy uses his remote control flying aeroplane and it hits the man on the head...It's very painful, but he is still getting dragged deeper into the quicksand, until finally his whole body does...very sad horrific ending..

I'm not sure if this is accurate or not but it had to be in the late 70's or early 80's. It was also i think a made for Tv movie, possibly CBS but not sure. All i know is a group of either abandoned or orphaned kids are left to fend for themselves and the older sister does so until the are seperated by the state. They don't see each other until the very end when they are reunited by a family that adopts them. The only scene i remember is that the older sister, when she enters the house, possibly on Christmas, she hears her younger brother playing his harmonica as he often did throughout the film. That's all i can recall at the time

This particular film was in black and white, and maybe 1940 or 1950 film. I am not absolutely positive but possibly Audrey Hepburn or the actress definitely resembles her. The female had very short hair and her male co-star was very tall and thin with large eyes. He was extremely shy and used a puppet as his voice. The female star, I believe, is running away from something. She confides in the puppet and eventually falls in love with the puppeteer. Of course, he reluctantly reveals himself toward the end of the movie.

I remember a made for tv Lifetime movie. (USA, I think it was made in the mid to late 1980's, possible the early 1990's, in color.) I cannot remember the names of any of the actors. It is about a mom who has locked away her daughter in her bedroom all the way up to adulthood and the daughter has the learning capacity of a child. Somehow it is learned this is happening and the daughter is taken to institution where she comes out of her shell with the help of a woman who works there. (The institution has these stone seps leading up to the building that has a column on either side of the porch area in front of the main doors.) The woman is taught to type and learns the basic skills to be able to take care of herself in a white building across the courtyard from the main building. She meets a man while she is learning these skills and the man is is allowed to leave the the premises of the facility. He was once a patient.

There were at least two related (series ?) movies on Cinemax in the 1990's (mid): A very muscular white female human in cammos and a tank top with blonde dreadlocks was fighting predator type aliens who were using humans as slaves or food. The films were set on what looked like old industrial sites (abandoned factories). I don't remember whether the action was taking place on post invasion Earth or another planet. Cheap budget, very little dialogue but I believe the movies were made in North America (maybe Canadian). I believe the female lead's real first name was Sue. She looked like a bodybuilder and was actually attractive. I believe her character wore some type of medal or amulet that signified she was chosen to defeat the aliens.

I believe it was something like the girl was dating one guy, but another guy who had known her for a long time got jealous. All that sticks in my mind is some quote about how close the guy and girl had been...something to the effect of "we used to take baths togther."

I saw this film on a video somewhere around 1991-1992. It had a very eighies fantasy look to it--you know everybody in perms and leather, dressed straight out of Beyond Thunderdome. In it, there is this young woman, a curly brunette who has a father who is an anthropologist or archaeologist and has gone missing somewhere far away from home on a dig. The girl is very fearful: afraid of flying, afraid to go to the beach in a swimsuit. She decides when her father goes missing to find him and gets on a plane. She discovers at the site a very deep, deep hole. Her father had evidently found and disrupted a civilization of people (normal looking except for the punk-ish way they dress)who live deep below-ground. The young woman meets this guy with blonde hair and a cowboy perm and he helps her find her father. I remember a scene in a restaraunt in the hole civilization. They had a rune-based language and the guy picked up and turned a menu that looked like a rolling pin covered in symbols. I don't remember much else except the end where the woman is standing on a beach in a swimsuit letting her towel blow in the breeze much to the amazement of her friends who are used to seeing her as a whiny wuss.

i'm trying to find the title of a film about an older man, (in his fifties/sixties maybe) who (possibly raped?!) but definitely murdered a young girl and buried her in this forest/woods. the film was visually very dark and dreary. i saw it sometime in the 90s on a movie channel, but it looked like the story took place in an earlier time? (1930s, 40s, 50s?) the man was dressed in a black coat, black hat. i remember many scenes in the woods and a train station (?!) there was an investigation and that's how they recovered the body, but i don't remember if it was just that girl or if there were others and they found them all buried in the woods?!

Some really great imagery in this film. Creepy effects and bizzare scenarios, I remember a sureal scene where the karate guy is seduced by a woman who is luring him from in front of church. Through the mist and confusion she begins to shed her dusty cloths. Black and white horror movies that I watched on television during 1964 to 1966. One, this young woman lived in a mansion and got burned in a fire. She was a pianist and her father and mother kidnapped young women, killing them and cut off parts of their bodies to attach the skin to the burned woman, so she could play the piano again. Towards the end of the movie, her replacement hands fall off and take scissors and stab a man in the back. I think the burned woman's mother was a witch and would use candles and put spells on people. I think the people spoke Spanish or Italian, but the English was dubbed over.

Anyways, here is all my dad and I can recall. We remember a mother pushing an evil baby in a carriage down a sidewalk, another woman walking the opposite direction with her baby. She pauses and looks in the woman's carriage and is disgusted and walks away. The woman proceeds to take the baby to a playground. Then we vaguely remember a ugly, horrible looking baby with the meanest face and razor sharp teeth hiding in the attic. The mom would always like a ladder to get up to the baby, it would just stare at her with its teeth. It was extremely fast and tried to kill her at times. The ending was she set the stove for a timer to exploder and she trapped the baby in the house, ran outside, and BOOM!

Ladies and gentlemen,I was born in 1973 so it must have been the late 1970s or early 1980s when I saw a childrens' movie on TV in Germany which impressed me very much. It was a foreign colour film - with real characters, not animated - about a little girl whose family moved into a big old house (looked like an English mansion) nearby a river with a nice park around. In the house (was it in one of the rooms or in the attic?) she just happened to meet the ghost of a young girl that drowned in exactly that river in the past. The two built up an eerie and distastrous kind of friendship. The ghost looked quite angelic but indeed was very mean, selfish and destructive. She wanted to make sure that the living girl - a very friendly and innocently trusting kid without the ability to assert herself - would have a deathly accident, so that she had a ghost friend who would never leave her. The film went on with the living girl (either alone or together with her family although I can't remember that they could also see the ghost) doing some research about the dead one. In the end an attempted murder of the living girl failed thanks to the knwoledge about the ghost who was powerless thereafter (don't know if she eventually vanished). The movie seemed quite British and had a quite contemporary feel to me, but maybe I'm wrong with hindsight. The ghost girl had some kind of old-fashioned name like Alice or so.

I once saw a movie; I think it was a black and white film about a young woman who was blind. I remember that she was engaged in the movie but what she didn't know was that her cousin (I think) and her fiancé were in love. She was seeking medical help and was operated to regain her eye sight. In the movie she (unknowingly) falls in love with her doctor and as she was getting treatment her cousin and fiancé hoped she would be cured so that they could finally be together. After the operation she still can't see and wants nothing to do with the doctor. Everyone thought the operation didn't work, but she soon got her sight back. I remember that in the last scene she goes to the hospital to make up with the doctor and calls him from the phone in the nurse’s station. As they are talking she tells him something and he realizes that she can see. They then run to each other and kiss. I saw this movie on AMC or TMC in the late 1990's. I think it was a 1940's or 1950's film.

I am pretty sure she was dressed up in a fancy blue dress. There is a part where either a client or someone else at the party goes into a room with her (I almost want to say its a bathroom type room) and there is a propped up chair in the room where she sits and he has sex with her.
