I believe this is a 1980s film. For years I thought it was the Re-animator until I saw that movie again and realized it was not the same film. In this film, someone is experimenting with bringing reanimating the dead. At one point, the main character discovers a secret underground room with tunnels where many failed undead experiments were kept. The tunnels and room looked almost ancient. I believe he either discovered or escaped this underground area through a nearby river, which had one of these weird undead experiments floating by in it. Also, there may have been scenes in this film which took place in a mental institution but I am not certain about that.

I have been looking for a movie I saw in the 1970's. It is a horror film which is centered on an antique shop with stories about people who buy certain items from them. It deals with what happens to the people after they buy these items. I know for sure one of the stories is about a door that is purchased at this antique shop. I thought the name of the movie was Beyond the Door however my searches haven't turned up anything.

This is one for the oldies out there, as it probably dates from around 1960. Not exactly a seriously scary story, but it has kind of haunted me for years. It was in a B movie which had two or three short crime stories, and although the story was terribly, terribly British it's been suggested it may have been part of a crime/mystery series originally made for American TV. I've been through some lists of these without success. It concerns a handsome young man who visits two spinster ladies (old family friends?) for the last time before leaving for (I think) South Africa to marry his fiancee. These frustrated ladies, secretly attracted to the young man, take him into the library to choose a tray of butterflies from their late father’s collection as a going-away present, but not before they have drugged his drink. When he passes out, they lock him in the library and keep him there for a number of years, feeding him though a small serving hatch. His attempts to break out or attract attention are unsuccessful (the ladies even resort to buying a parrot to reassure the police about reported cries coming from the house). Eventually one sister dies, and the prisoner, who is pretty crazed by now, manages to trick the other sister and get the door key from her. She rushes downstairs to where her dead sister is laid out.The film ends by suggesting she dies of sheer terror before the prisoner can get his hands on her.

Time period: late 80's - early 90'sCountry: Most likely American. I watched it dubbed in French in Europe, but definitely American movie.Where: On TV, not theatre.Details: The lead role was a young, dark-haired, good-looking guy (maybe early 20's or late teens), and he has to solve something (or find something). It's sort of an action film (not like guns or anything.. just fast-paced, I think.. really not sure). The only solid fact I can give is that he gets a red convertible, has some girl helping him out, and towards the end, there's this big fire scene where he's up on the roof, and he has these special shoes that help him stick so that he doesn't fall off..

I remember a red car, an owl, and I believe some singing. I think it had to do with teaching kids to like reading more and using their imagination.

I'm looking for information about a movie I saw sometime around 1994-1995. I think it took place during the American depression. The plot revolves around a young girl around 14-16 years old. Her father is living in a big city, maybe New York. She was left behind and I think is staying at an orphanage. She keeps telling everyone she is going to leave to find her dad but no one believes her. One day, she does leave, dressed as a boy. She meets up with an older male drifter who finds out she is a girl when they go swimming. He decides to take her to the city. He is trying to get to Australia because the police are after him. One night they are camping out, the stars are shinning and the guys says something like, "Welcome to the Starlight Motel (or hotel)." I thought this was the name of the movie but I haven't been able to find it by that name. As the movie goes on the girl developes a crush on the guy, but he ignores it and they continue traveling. They finally get to the city, with the cops on their heels. The movie winds down with the two saying good by at the docks in the middle of the night. Right before the guy sneaks on to a ship, headed to Australia, he kisses her and wishes her luck. It ends with her being reunited with her father. The movie, although similar, is not The Journey of Natty Gann or Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken.

Okay, about 15 to 17 years ago I saw a movie that was supposedly a classic made in the 1950's. I wish I had more to go on than the plot. I thought that it was called the Inferno, but I cannot find it by that name. I believe it was reviewed on American Movie Classics by Siskel and Ebert. Here is the gist of the story.A small plane pilot takes his plan out for a little trip and little does he know that it has been rigged by his wife and her lover to fail and crash. It crashes in the desert, but the pilot survives. Against incredible odds he survives. He has a broken leg and crawls a long ways. He finds water and eats whatever he can find. It is a true tale of survival and beating the odds. The end of the story finds the man walking with a crutch out of the desert only to find his wife with her lover. Of course they are totally shocked.

I saw this movie within the past two years on television, though I never caught the title. It was about a family on a road trip, with a father, mother, and three kids - two boys and a girl, all in their teens or twenties.Their trip takes them on a dark, deserted road. There's a hearse that they constantly see passing by, and every time it passes, it brings them some trouble. The car breaks, the brother dies; they see him in the trunk of the hearse before that, then later find it in the road. We never see his body, but we can assume it's bloody and mangled. I remember the father trying to get the daughter to use the stick to 'de-stick' the cell phone from his body. There's a woman in white, who at some point seduces the remaining brother, then bites off his bottom lip. The mother goes insane (though I don't remember why) and eventually shoots the father through the foot and is later shot through the head. (She touches her skull, feeling the brain and says, "That feels good," before dying.)In the end, only the daughter remains. The black hearse passes, and she's caught between the woman in white and the hearse. The woman gives her a look, says that the car is for her, and goes into it. When the daughter wakes, she's in the hospital. The nurse (I think) flirts with the man who found her, and she takes a ride from him in his hearse. There's road workers cleaning the debris from the site at the very end, and one finds a note the father had written before (something like a list of things to do before he dies), then throws it away.

The movie was in black and white as i recall, and since i remember it being rented from a video store i assume it wasn't for tv, but some basic things i remember include a male character being locked in some kind of large cage, something with hay in it. I also remember some kind of scene where a male character is somewhere and an old woman is there and he bites her neck and she drops the dozen eggs she was holding. Other than that i really cant remember much about it. I think there was a scene towards the end where a mob of people chase the male character and he ends up back in the cage.

I am 24 yrs old now, and I saw this movie in the early 90's on USA, UP! All Night. It reminded me of a Troma type movie, due to the awesome grossness and violence. I remember very little about it except that two guys go are trying to get laid in this house. I wanna say that they're spying on the girls from next door, but there's like an older brother or something that won't let them leave. They end up getting over to the house somehow and all the girls turn evil and one vomits this yellow puke into one guy's mouth, and in the ending few minutes, the room that the one guy is in turns red, and satan appears and laughs or something, and the movie ends. This "satan" or "satan like" character appeared in the beginning as well. Its a cheesy, violent, sex filled, mid 80's to early 90's flick..

As he runs the truck into the car, the movie switches to a real car with a family inside being struck by the truck, screaming that the truck is going to hit again, until they are all dead. This is how the movie opens. Then I think it has a blond haired woman, car out of gas, goes into this town full of crazy people? There was a lot of gore but I can't remember if it was caused by accidents, a madman, something in the water or even how the opening shot of the little boy related to it at all.

Movie is in color. It is about a boy who was "given up", not really adoption... abandoned I think. He was born to an incestuous family originating outside America. When inbreeding was abolished a royal brother and sister moved to america to keep up the tradition. The defects became worse and worse and then a son (the main charecter) was born with no defects. He was given up so he could live a normal life. He ends up going back to the place of his birth with his girlfriend in search of answers. Turns out his family lives in tunnels under the city and are eating the dead (they can only eat meat that has been emballmed). He ends up leaving his girlfriend for his he-she sister who (in a deformed way) looks like the original sister that came to the country with her brother.

It is black and white English movie and I remembered seeing it on TV (1980s) (Hong Kong's TVB Pearl -- it is an English movie). The plot is basically about two brothers and their father. The older brother is in his early teens and the younger brother is 9-10 years old. Their family is rich, but something happened to their mother (left the family). The father does not want the older brother to tell the younger one about their mother; the older brother knew where she was and often visit her. The father favors the younger brother; he really dislike his eldest son and does not approve a lot of the things he did.The most memorable part is that the younger brother was playing by the pond. He fell out of the tree into the pond and almost drowned. The older brother saw this and went in to save him. He almost drowned himself. Some people rescued them both. The older brother, after rescued, remained unconscious and possibly in a coma. The father now realize how his eldest son meant to him and was sitting by his bedside. The younger brother came in and asked when his brother will wake up. The dad doesn't know.

Plot, a mother and daughter hate the husband/father ... there are only three characters in this entire movie (I think); it's in color - seen it in the 70's so it was either made in the 60's or 70's - the setting looks like a foreign country ... like a english cottage, anyway they poison (remember the shot of the pills beside the bed) him; and put the dead body in a box and roll it down some huge hill, then they find the body back in bed ... they dispose of it again ... and again and again, at the end he walks in the house alive and the mother and daughter are terrified.

Probably about 6-7 years ago I had cable and on one of the classic channels was a frequent showing of what appeared to be an American musical possibly made for television about a young chinese/japanese (though I am pretty sure she was Chinese) girl who's father brought her to America because she was betroved to an Asian/American young man. He was modern and didn't want anything to do with her even though he thought she was sweet he was all about the upcoming/modern women with sexier looks. One scene I remember was with an older asian actor who is very different looking and he was dating a younger attractive modern asian woman and they were singing together in what appeared to a very modern home and she wanted to be married and ...well that was as far as I got. I saw bits and pieces of the movie as it kept playing over and over for weeks but never saw the end and never could find the name.

The movie was probably based on an 18 century setting (not sure) There was a handsome wealthy man that had two love interests. One of them he really loved but he married the other. (I think she got pregnant can't remember) at the end of the movie for some reason he became seriously ill and was dying. When the other lady heard about his fate she went to visit him at his castle. The wife wouldn't let her see him because she knew they both still loved each other. Upon her leaving the castle the wife stopped the carriage and gave her a small pouch. Inside was the a very large sapphire ring. That was the end of the movie.

I'm looking for two movies that watched as a child. Have to be about 20 years ago. Even then they were very old movies. I can’t seem to get certain scenes out of my head and now it driving me crazy. I went on the tcm site and that was no help. Both movies were color. The first one was about a small town country girl who lived on a farm (I think) she was a tom boy. Her father sent her off to etiquette school to become a lady. Her father first told her about it one night while she was hanging out in a tree looking at the stars. I think this was a romantic comedy. Eventually the beautiful blonde grew up to be a real lady and fall in love. I also remember at the end she was dancing with a man and for some reason she was crying. That’s it.

In the 1990's I watched a in color foreign film on one of the movie channels (HBO, Cinnamax, Showtime). The film had subtitles. It was about this high spirited younger women traveling with this high spirited old women. The old women hid her wicked side to other people other than the younger women. The women were mean to each other, yet they understood each other. In the end of the film the old women is upset and tells the younger women she wants to live with her and does not want to live with her family. The movie might have been French.

Then I remember who I thought was Lucille Ball who was maybe a working woman or something coming home and somehow she finds kids or kids find her, I remember a whole bunch of orphan kids, maybe 5-10 of them. she took care of them and I remember one scene where a kid is sleeping of the kitchen table. Also the woman who I think may have been lucille ball has a boyfriend or male friend or something that comes over and helps her or somethins. We saw cheaper by the dozen and with six you get eggroll which are kinda similar but not the movie I saw.
Result: Happy Birthday To Me (1981) with Melissa Sue Anderson.
I'm not sure that this sounds like Happy Birthday To Me. I own this movie and it is a horror film. Melissa Sue Anderson's friends are killed throughout the movie, though she none of them actually see or know they are murdered; they just keep disappearing. She has blackouts and does have flashes of being in a car accident in the rain with her mother. They get stuck on a draw bridge that is being raised for a boat to go under. The car goes under the water. Her mother's legs are trapped under the steering wheel and she is not able to get out of the car, but makes sure Anderson gets out safely. No one else is there. She has to have brain surgery (in flashback). She does go to therapy though and her therapist is killed at the end.
At the end, Anderson wakes up (she was knocked out) and is seated around a table with all of her dead friends and her dead mother's skeleton. Everyone has hats on and there is a cake. Actually, there are two "Andersons" in the room. The real one is seated, then one of her friends is wearing a mask that looks like Anderson. The friend killed everyone else. To sum it up, Anderson's dad left the friend's mother for Anderson's mom (so they have the same dad). Going back to the accident, that night the Anderson's mom was mad b/c none of Anderson's friends came to her birthday party b/c they were all at her friend/half sister's party. It was pouring rain, she was driving fast, and they wrecked. So this is why all the friends are around the table--as the friend/half sister says, just like you wanted. Then the friend/half sister says it's Anderson's fault that her (the murderer) dad left her mother. (Does any of that make sense?)
So, I could how it is similar in the sense that she is having flashes of the accident and going to therapy. But I just don't think it sounds the same. I know sometimes people aren't sure, but this definitely was not a made for tv or hallmark/lifetime movie. Maybe the person already watched it and it was the movie they were looking for...
Thanks,

The movie is from the 80s or 90s. It was a made for tv movie, maybe a lifetime or hallmark movie. All I remember is that a young woman, 20s, keeps going to therapy because she has these memories but they are all jumbled. She ends up remembering that she was in a car accident and they were on a bridge. The door flies open and she is hanging on to her sister but her sister falls from the car into the water. The mom falls into the water and there is a woman. It seems like the woman is going to save the mom with a tree branch but instead she pushes the mom under and lets her drown.

I am looking for a movie that I saw on TV in 1982, but I missed the title and there were no credits. It was about a mentally retarded (yuck! I hate that word) man who, through the loving support of a slightly older woman, became more functional. THIS IS NOT TIM -- I ALREADY OWN THAT WONDERFUL FILM!!!!!When the couple marries, his family attempts to have the marriage annulled in court and he is placed in a mental institution for 30 days of observations and tests. One of the hardest tests was when two of his "roommates" with Down's Syndrome were harrassed and assaulted because they were different. At the end of the film, the judge asks the family if they will accept the wife. If not, the man will be placed in the institution permanently. The recurring and most distinctive line in the film is, "I'm not retarded. I'm not retarded. A little slow, a few problems. No problem." This is very significant to me because over 20 years later I married. My husband and I were doing a chore and he burst out with that line. He'd seen the same film, and couldn't remember any more than I could. We hope to buy this film if we get the info and the opportunity.

It's an animation, probably from 1930's. I am pretty sure it was BW. It was about an orphanage and it was during Christmas. All I remember is a part when the little girl is dreaming and you see her dream bubble and she is thinking about candy. Then in her acutal dream it sort of like Willy Wonka where everything is edible. Then there was a scene where the old man is making toys out of trash for the kids and one of the kids pulls his or her blanket and it's all full of holes. There might have been more than one Animation in the VHS.

I am searching for a movie from the early 80's or late 70's. It was a sci-fi movie, but may have been classified as horror too. Not sure. The few scenes I remember are:1) There are a group of men walking together. They appear to be on a quest (much like Lord of the Rings) and there is a very old chinese man they are helping to walk along. The old guy looks totally innocent but from time to time will kill people by light coming out of his mouth and his nails grow as well, which appear to almost act as knives. 2) There is a large wall of mountains (or something of the sort) and there is a huge ram (like godzilla size) the knocks the range down which also allows for a huge wall of water to pour into a valley. I am probably on drugs for remembering these things, and they might be totally out of context, but these stick in my head from when I was a child. I was born in '78 and I must have seen the movie when I was like 4?

This would have appeared on television in the early 70s, say between 70-72. I'm pretty sure the woman's name was Rachel. She screams, of course, and maybe even falls, but I'm not sure. I have a vague memory that this was a made for television movie, but it could have been a big screen movie from an earlier period.

I saw this movie on TV sometime in the 1970's, I think. The plot was something like this: Adult siblings gather at their family home where their ailing parent is cared for by a sister. Things start happening to the family members and they are dying one by one. Two scenes I remember: 1. The younger sister is running through trees in the pouring rain to escape someone who is after her. She hides uner a fallen log. Someone stops by the log in rain boots and then leaves. The sister runs up a hill to the road and waves down a passing car for help. It is the older sister who steps out of the car wearing the rain boots. The younger sister realizes that her sister is the murderer just as she pushes her off the edge to her "death". 2. The younger sister is lying in bed looking dead and the older sister comes into the room sobbing and pretending to be heartbroken at her sisters death. The younger sister opens her eyes and the older knows she has been caught. Her explanation is something like she was tired of taking care of the parents and family and having all the respnsibility.

I was shown this film in elementary school around 1979 or 1980. The story was about this boy and his older sister. I remember a random detail from the beginning of the movie, the boy is on the bus home from school and is playing the card game "War." Anyways, they met some old lady somehow and she tells them this story and they go to a museum and hide there when it closes. They bathe in the museum fountain and spend a few night there looking for something that the woman told them about.

The movie is from the early 90's, and it's about a group of kids that witness a murder next door through the curtains. Some guy kills this lady, and then proceeds to bury her under the floor, under the piano or something. And I think she's also put in a freezer at some point. The murder wasn't premeditated, he was just angry and strangled her I think, didn't actually want her to die. Eventually the kids somehow find the body or something, and the killer is caught. Everything that I've mentioned is all from very distant memories, so some of it may be off by a bit.

I am looking for a non animated kids movie that came out in the mid 80s. I think it was about a father that had been widowed and needed someone to look after his children. What I do remember seeing is a box or boxes coming out of the sky and landing in their back yard. It seems the kids found a key and if they unlocked the correct box or, maybe it was used the right key, a nanny came out. I guess she was a robot, I'm not sure but she looked like a regular person (grandma maybe). I don't remember much else except that she took care of the children and they were happy and had a good time.

I remember seeing this movie in daycare years ago in the middle to late '90s. It was my favorite. The general plot is fuzzy; I'll put the parts I'm not 100% sure about in parentheses. I recall that it was about a boy (I think he's British) whose father goes off to fight (in India or Africa I think?) and when the father doesn't return, the boy is sent to an orphanage. There he is treated very badly, and eventually locked in the attic (with another boy I think). They get very hungry, and see a black man across the alley way. One night he appears during a fierce thunderstorm in their room (I think wearing African clothing like a shaman), and smiles. A feast appears when they wake up with golden plates of food and such everywhere. They stuff themselves and have a joyous time, until the headmistress comes in and catches them. I can't recall exactly what leads to this, but I know that soon after he sees his dad who now has bandages wrapped all around his head and eyes (assumably from battle) and runs to the house (hotel?) next door where he screams for his dad. He almost doesn't make it, but then his dad hears him, recognizes his voice, and feels his way back to the boy and they embrace. This was definitely a children's movie.

I saw this movie in a theatre in about 1959 or so (+/- three or four years). A group of civilians are stranded in the Sahara. (Plane crash? out of fuel? just lost? I don't recall.) They find a German tank left over from WWII (Rommel's Africa Corps) in the sand and dig it out. They get the tank started and start off across the desert. They are attacked by group after group of Arab tribesmen on horseback. While the main gun on the tank is either not operational or they don't have any ammunition, the machine gun in the tank works just fine and they have, apparently, plenty of ammunition for it. Lots of shooting at the attacking Arabs. The group gets back to civilization. Don't recall the names of any actors....prob a "B" movie....I saw it at an afternoon matinee. Don't recall it black and white or color, but prob color.

This film was on TV- it was the "WLVI 56 Saturday Movie at TWO". I think This was the Boston NBC affiliate . I am guessing the film was late 80s or early 90s. Typical 80s comedy cheese.Hopefully this doesn't get too confusing but the film is about a group of people filming a movie in a foreign countryThe main character is a surfer played by Scott. Scott falls in love with the lead actress, Cleo, a local who has an overbearing Stepfather. She plays a princess with an overprotective father.Problem is, Scott is already engaged to Morgan- a money sucking primadonna that spends all her time shopping and complaining.Shaun (another actor) is also pursing Cleo and they end up fighting over her. Other characters include another actor named Ray. The director Logan and his assistant Cookie, who wants to be a director. The cast and crew stay at Hotel Goliath. Most of the movie take place outside, on or near the beach/oceanside.A couple of the scenes that take place during the fictional movie, the movie within the movie:The airport authorities suspect that the surfer dude has drugs in his surfboard. So they saw it in half and find noneThe surfer sneaks into the home of the princess disguised as one of four waiters. His fake mustache falls off and while he is trying to fix it he tips his tray over into the next waiter causing a chain reaction with all the food ending up on Cleo's father - the King.I'm pretty sure Scott and Cleo end up together in the end, but I seem to be missing most of the movie. I must have recorded over it because I used to have the entire thing. At one point during the actual movie one of the crew members ties Cookie's chair to her leg. When she gets up with a running chainshaw she trips and goes flying around with the chainshaw, slicing table umbrellas and nearly killing several people. The thing that makes this so funny is that it lasts for about 3 minutes, is very poorly acted and the chair that supposedly tripped her in the first place is now about 1/10th the size it was when she was sitting in it. I would give this scene a 7 out of 10 on the unintentional comedy scale.

Alright, I may have dreamed this up, but I am pretty sure I saw this movie possibly in the late 80s or early 90s. It was a children's cartoon in color about these kids that somehow are pulled into a fantasy world where they compete in collecting golden records in various subworlds within this fantasy world (like music land, ect.). As they collect records (at least I think they are records) the children learn lessons about life and being a good person. I believe the kids are two boys and a girl and the one boy is a bully. The other boy and girl may be siblings, but I am not sure. I think the movie ends with the bully realizing the error of his ways and actually winning the whole record collection competition. I know this is a stretch, but any input on this movie or cartoon series would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I saw this film in the 90's and I remember the plot but not the title. Starts out with a guy coming into a woman's apartment, and she is held captive by him for a while. He puts her in a room with no windows but with a fan outlet up in the ceiling. He gives her a book and she writes "Help Me," on the book cover, rips it and puts it through the fan outlet, which ends up outside, and a man who is raking the leaves, finds it, but before he can read it, her kidnapper finds it and looks up through the outlet. He forces a romantic relationship with her, and bathes her. They have dinner together, and she puts something in his cheesecake, from a petri dish she found-so it's some kind of a disease.
