Forgive me if this is a repeat, but I could not find any reference in the found searches...I remember seeing this on TV in the early 80s, but I think the film itself was from the 70s. There was a scene towards the end in which a guy kidnaps a woman and her kids at gun or knife point and takes them to a beach house. I think the kids were oblivious to the fact it was a kidnapping, because the guy had perhaps been involved with their mother. He then forces the kids to remove their clothes and jump on the bed, making the woman watch throughout. I'm pretty sure she ended up killing him with his own weapon. It was definitely in color, but I don't remember any of the actors. Thank you!

hello,I'm looking for an American film I saw in the late 80s/early 90s which was a romantic drama about a woman caught between two men, a writer and a businessman (as far as I can remember). Anyway, the idea is that the two men had different lifestyles. I think the film was set in a city like Chicago and that the drama resulted in a divorce or accident, but I am not sure. I was young when I saw the film, so the details about plot might be off a bit.

I have been trying to locate a movie called "The Rise And Rise Of Michael Rimmer". I think it would be a 70's film, possibly mid-70's and I had a feeling that it stared Peter Sellers, but I am not 100% positive on that. It was a brilliant comedy, but all my searches have been in vain. I saw it on TV many years ago and was wondering if it was ever released on video or DVD.

(WWII, American submarine takes on board survivours from a British ship sunk by the Germans; there are some similarities, both being war-time ghost stories set on board a submarine, but is an original screenplay, whereas David Jason's "Ghost Boat" is based on the book "Ghostboat" by Simpson and Burger.) Thanx Juniper, kwalstedt. Apr 25, 2006

British ITV has just screened a 3 hour film called Ghost Boat and starring David Jason. A long lost submarine resurfaces in good condition but minus its crew. An investigation decides to retrace its last voyage and takes along a survivor from the original crew who cannot explain his survival. During the voyage the submarine crew change into the original crew and original voyage episodes are repeated. At the end the submarine returns to the deep taking the survivor with it but the rest of the replacement crew are saved. It seems that the submarine had returned solely to collect the original survivor who should have died with his crewmates originally.I know that I have seen this story during the past couple of years but with an American slant and an American cast. What was the film which I saw called?

Hi. Hope you can help me. I saw this video (horror-ish and very bad) early 90's. It seemed fairly new. (Perhaps no earlier that 1988?) It was about these college students in a film class, and they find this creepy cult-ish film that makes no sense. The film they found had some guy doing some sort of human sacrifice with this long & wavy knife or sword. Somehow by the end of the story somebody had the notion to do a live re-enactment of this creepy film (ala rocky horror style), but the girl/victim had been kidknapped and was going to be killed in front of a live audience, and nobody in the audience believed that she was really gonna be murdered. It seemed the title of the video was a 1 or 2 word name. Please help!

His kingdom is under attack and he is either sent away for protection or the last of his kingdom. The scene I remember is of him being coaxed into a silk tent by a woman who is trying to trick him into falling asleep in the tent. The woman is actually a monster. I remember him having a blue magical orb. I think there was a dragon in the movie too. This has been on my mind for years. All I can remember is that scene. Please help a poor girl out :) thanks!

I am trying to find out the name of a movie that I saw on tv in about 1970-72. I think it may have been a Made-for-TV movie and don't know if it was new at that time or may have been out for a while. It takes place in the Phillipines during WWII. A Marine (maybe Army) was on the island..his plane had crashed possibly...and the Japanese were after him. There were children on the island from an orphanage. The nuns and/or priest were trying to hide him from the enemy. They had an old school bus which they got started using coconut husks for fuel since they had no gasoline. They were all in the bus with the Japs chasing them. The brakes went out coming down the mountain..don't remember much of the rest. I believe the name was something like"The Longest Ride" but have been unable to find anything with that title. I don't know the names of any of the actors. I really enjoyed watching this with my friend David and my Dad back when I was about 10 years old, and would be so happy to be able to locate this movie.

Result: The Out-of-towners Sandy Dennis' character says "Oh my god!" repeatedly throughout the film as each new disaster befalls them. Thanx Babel-17. Aug 14, 2006

Probably 1972, possibly a few years earlier, definitely no later than 1973. Probably an American film, probably comedy, probably in color. I never saw this film, only heard one humorous line quoted from it: "Oh my God, we're going to be hit by a bus," said by a lady in a slow, almost bored tone of voice. She may have also had a twangy, nasal tone of voice, like a ditzy middle-aged woman. Therefore the film must involve a collision or near-collision with a bus at one point, probably from the perspective of passengers in a regular car. It would have been a film that interested young teens because ny sister and her female friend saw this together around 1972 in San Diego, California, though I don't know exactly where or at what type of theater. My guess would be an indoor theater. I don't think they even mentioned the title, but they kept saying that quote whenever we'd get into a car, which makes me think the lady character in the film might have said "Oh my God..." multiple times at each impending accident. Maybe it was about some Americans traveling in Europe?

This one is fairly recent, I think in the '90s. I remember a few details: There is a scene (I think at the beginning) where the male lead is attempting to propose to the female lead. One of them is an elementary school teacher (I think the female lead), but the male lead enlists the help of the school children to help him propose to the female lead by having them hold up signs that say "Will you marry me?" The female lead is across the street. I think she gets a call on her cell phone that stops her from seeing the signs. Whatever the case, something stops her from seeing the signs, and the marriage proposal never takes place. That is what I know for sure. I am thinking that the female lead was Kelly Preston or a Kelly Preston look-a-like, but I have looked through Kelly Preston's filmography and can't find a title that looks right. I am also thinking that the male lead was maybe an astronomer, and maybe the female lead ended up dying?

NOT Rosemary's BabyI am trying to figure out the name of a movie that came out probably in the late seventies or early eighties. It is about a lady who is either pregnant or who already had a baby and maybe she was wondering what happened to her baby? She had repeated dreams ( I don't remember the details.) At first I thought it was called To Save A Child, but that movie came out in the nineties. There was one scene in the movie where a man, possibly a doctor, told her: "Your biological clock is ticking..." (probably part of one of her dreams) It also seems like she found herself in a closet or something after one of her dreams. Toward the end of the movie, she saw a nurse taking off with her baby and they began to struggle. It seems like she was taking off in a speed boat or something. I'm not sure if she end up killing the nurse or not. I am pretty sure this is a made-for-tv movie.

Film was probably in the 80s, maybe early 90s. I can't remember anyone that was in it nor the plot line - what sticks out in my mind (constantly) is our "hero" of the story is inadvertently put in jail. In the adjacent cell is some dude who's "possessed" by something/someone and harrasses and threatens our hero. Because he's "possessed" (not sure if that's it, but something supernatural is going on), he enters into the little air vent shaft that connects the two cells and slowly begins to work his way through, his body all folded up on himself (I remember that effect was well-done and is why this scene haunts me) and ultimately gets to the grate cover of the vent that leads into the cell where our hero is, but he can't get the cover off (I'm thinking it's because he has to be "invited" or something - somehow, our hero is the only one who can open the grate cover to let him in, and he doesn't). Our hero is released before the possessed guy can get to him. This is the only thing that sticks out in my mind about the movie, I'm sorry I can't give any further details, but it's driving me nuts trying to figure this out, lol. Any help is appreciated - thanks!

I saw this movie on TV sometime in the 80s I think. The first part of the movie is about this guy who comes to the door of a house asking to come inside and call a tow truck (his car ostensibly broke down). The babysitter is freaked out and won't let him in. He tells her he thinks he sees someone upstairs through one of the windows and while she's running around scared, he sneaks into the house and kidnaps the kids (it turns out he threw his voice towards the door while he was actually sneaking in through the window). The rest of the movie is years later and the guy is back; the movie ends when he gets caught in the lady's house, his body painted to match the brick wall so he blends in like a chameleon. I could have sworn that George Dzundza was in it, but I can't find anything he was in that resembles this movie.A little help?

My mom saw a movie sometime between when she was 8-12 (so approximately 1963-1968) in the theaters. She didn't think Alfred Hitchcock was in it, but in her memory he may have been the director. I doubt this is the case, unless every website I've found on him has left this film out. What she does remember is that there was an older man with a cane or something that caused him to walk noisily. The man was luring people to his home, where apparently there was some sort of black hole in the attic and if you fell in you'd never be seen again. Almost like a scary version of hansel and gretel for grown ups.

Result: Alien Abduction: Incident In Lake County Thanx J Star. Apr 17, 2006

The movie i am looking for is a video shown on PBS somewhere between 1995 and 98. It is a home video of a family being abducted by aliens. It happens at their home things like electrical malfunctio ns occur, the car engine is melted. At the end the alien twitches his head and the camera is turned off. Thanks

I recall seeing this one at school too, oddly enough. I cannot provide a name, but maybe a detail that helps. I recall a quite disturbing scene obviously based on the abduction of Barry from "Close Encounters", namely a darkened door silhouetted by a tremendously bright light on the opposite side. In the end, after a period of noise a bit like the whine of a drill or a buzz-saw, a luminous image of an alien bursts through the keyhole in very stylized fashion that I would today call reminiscent of the masks from the "Scream" movies. More of a hologram of a face than an actual alien, that is. I would really like to know more about this film myself. The one scene I recall has haunted me for decades. It would therefore have to be from BEFORE 1986.

The laughter was creepily cheerlful and the focus was mainly on the mother, who thought she was going mad. Thanx asat. Apr 16, 2006

Possibly t.v movie or show from the late 60's or 70's. I don't think it was a theatrical movie(?). This is a long shot but here goes. A woman and her husband move into a house. She begins to hear laughter in the house but only she hears it. She may hear footsteps in the hall too(?). The laughter might be coming from a lamp of some sort. The husband thinks she's going insane. She eventually becomes pregnant and the husband hires a nanny-type to help her as the birth nears as he's out of town. The "presence" takes over the nanny and eventually the woman gives birth. As the wife & husband are lovingly looking at their newborn, the baby laughs instead of cries. I think that's at the end. It was so scary as a kid and I still remember it 30 yrs later. I have searched all types of web-sites for what this movie might be with no luck. Can anyone help. Thanks.

I saw that french movie in middle 90s. It can be a triology but I cannot be sure. It's about a boy (can be native american?) brought back "home" with his dad to france. He cause sure a mess there but at the end everything was fine he got used to civilization. He used to use cano for transportation and threw arrows all the time. It was entertaining and adventureous for kids.

I only caught the last 20 mins of this film... I think it was a horror maybe!!Young girl- 11 maybe? I think called Michelle gets killed in a hit and run and the driver is a man and the passenger is his wife who wants to stop but he doesnt. The girl that was killed haunts them and its gets too much for the wife who kills herself and the husband doesnt call an ambulance because she might tell the police what happened. There is another family- the wife is maybe a Cop or a lawyer?? And she is trying to figure out what happened in the hit and run I think and then the ghost of the woman that killed herself talks to her and explains she has done something to the pilot light in her husbands house and her lit a cigarette and is now dead. That is what I got from the last 20 mins so sorry if its all wrong!!!

Hi, This is extremely little to go on I know...but..When I was 5 (1986) I saw a horror at a friend's house about demons, and a family, the central storyline involved a young boy. I recall vividly one and only one scene in which the boy either wishes or asks for something from one of the demons and instead he gets an eye in his hand. So there's this scene where he holds his hand up and there is an eye blinking back. He freaks out..then later cuts the eye out with a piece of glass or knife. Anyone??? Thank you!!

This is a horror movie a friend can't remember. A movie, he thinks 80's, about a woman who has a recurring nightmare - In the nightmare, she opens her front door and the same man is always standing there with a knife. I think he stabs her. This happens so often that she gets her dreams monitored somehow. The nightmare is manually *changed* (by these people?) for her, so when she starts to have the same dream and opens the front door, instead of a man with a knife she sees a field... Apparently this works for a few weeks, then the man with the knife comes back.

The only part I remember from the movie is the boy looking in a mirror and all of a sudden he smashes his head into it. I think he did it to make the girl think her boyfriend did it, but I'm not sure. It was a recent movie, not set in a different time period or country, I think.

Hello,I saw this film on TV in the 1970's, I think between 1971-1976.It was in color and was about a family that moves to a country house with a barn. The wife is a artist/painter and sits out in the field painting. She is drawn to the creepy barn. One night she awakens to the sound of a baby crying, she follows the sound outside to the barn, she enters the barn, and sees a jar on a shelf with a big bloody, pulsating blob, which is crying like a baby. I beleive there was a pentagram on the barn as well.I have searched for supernatural/ horror films of the 70's, and haven't found it yet. Thank you,Staci

Some teenage guys and girls are I believe on their way either to a dance or coming from one, when their car breaks down on a dark forest road. A crazy and gross family that lives in a big, old, scary house ends up killing most of them. It seems I remember a scene at a big table with dead people sitting at it. Also maybe one of the crazy family members chases a girl through the house with a chainsaw.

I saw it on TNT (cable-TV) here in Brazil. It's about a strange creature (in a form of a big snake, or something near to it) that lives under the earth and, as far as I concerned, loves to eat human beings. There are also two "hunters": one is very experienced, with Chuck Norris-look, and at the beggining doesn't want to face again a monster, and another is a freshman, kind like a scientist, that is very curious and convince the "experienced" to take the mission to destroy th monster. Apparently located in Mexico, or somewhere in the desert. Problably made for TV, kind of 1970 - 1985 film.

I saw this film in 1991 and it guess it can't have been more than about 5 years old. It was a suspense horror/chiller with elements of alien/time travel/monster films in it... It begins with a one or more familys' cars breaking down in a deserted town. The family look around and find evidence of a person/child living in a hole filled with scavenged odds and ends. Various people go missing. Later one or more of the family members finds a valley containing a large number of abandoned cars arranged into some sort of pattern (kind of like a crop circle) I think all the car batteries were removed. Also some sort of creature lives there. Later still the family arrive at some other village where 'dopplegangers' of the missing people are living different lives. Towards the end, the family are walking back towards the town over sand dunes and one of the boys disappeards as he goes over; in the final few scenes the family is driving away when a ragged creature runs in front of the car casing it to crash, the family is then seen in the 'other' town, apparently oblivious to what happened before... creepy. Surely someone must know what this film is!

It was hosted by Elvira (U.S. film), and I can recall it focusing on a family with one particular child murdering her siblings (I think I remember her pushing her brother out of his treehouse to kill him). I also vaguely remember her hair ribbon as the focus of a scene, perhaps as a sign the parents overlooked that she had perpetrated the crimes. Color/TV/ HBO (*could be cinnemax or Showtime, though I don't think they were around then or as common) Back in the late 1970's we would get HBO for free occasionally on the weekends. I remember this horror show about some type of "thing" coming out of a woman's back. I know there was a hospital in the final scenes. Can't remember much else.... Oh.. I believe one scene there is an officer watching over someone in a hospital bed. This "thing" comes out of the person and kills the officer and then the hospital seems to be empty. Except for the few people ( possible doctor/nurse) who are trying get the "thing" and save patient(s).* I remember also that around this time, another movie came on, possibley the same weekend, with Angie Dickison having sex in a car/elevator. Another movie during this time was a movie about Pirahna's getting into a lake and eating people. Thanks, Amy

Not sure if you can help, this might be a tough one as is a bunch of no-name actors i think. I am obssessed with finding this movie though.I saw it about 6 - 8 years ago i think for the first time in colour on VHS. It must have been a bit older than that as was in the weekly section of video library.I think the title has deep and or primal and or fear in it, maybe even death or trap.I can't help with actors as they were no-names...It was a thriller.Plot was a young woman and her older husband on some sort of carribean/tropical islands gathering sea snakes for their venom. The husband has hired some shady locals, one is a muscular pretty boy type that gets sexual tension going with young wife. The husband has a accident and is bitten by a snake and the young wife is forced to keep the work/research going for him as he is bed ridden. She has a brief affair with the shady worker as he seduces her in a erotic seen when they are swimming in a cave and from there...she remains in love with husband and tells the worker it's over, he merely works for her now...and he becomes obssessed and angry...There were a couple of rape scenes as these workers are bad characters and the island is very male dominated...the whole island has a ominious feel towards women and the workers her husband hired seemed to be the ringleaders of trouble on the islandThe movie ends with her finally fighting back and the obsessed man and his friends lay siege to her and her husbands home and they have to fight them off.I think the bad guy gets killed by being pushed into a bath full of the snakes they hunt.It was a great movie and thriller, a little erotic but was very B grade.

It was about a teenage girl who had very long blonde hair (almost white) and was beautiful and she and her friends and boyfriend all grew up as hippies...I'm thinking it was in California and her father doesn't want her to hang out with the other people and influences her to not have anything to do with them and to meet other guys/people. I always thought it was a Gidget movie, but it doesn't add up. (it's not Gidget Grows Up, and it's not Gidget Gets Married". I think it's just gives you the feel of a Gidget movie. I know at the end of the movie she decides to keep her friends and marry her old boyfriend because she says to her Dad, "...because he loves me Dad", and about her friends..."because they love me Dad". Very sappy, but cute.

This is a B&W British film probably from the 1950s, maybe a little earlier. In one of the final scenes, in dense fog with creepy trees, a young woman* sinks into quicksand. Most of the film up to that point is sort of a drawing room melodrama in a big old house, maybe even a mansion. * She may have been a villain of sorts, someone who tried to break up a romance or interfere with an inheritance - this was not a horror movie per se, but I think there was something about the moors (or wherever this foggy place was) being thought to be haunted or cursed in some way - people were warned not to go out there

I vaguely recall a film from when I was a boy, although it may have been older than I. I would guess it was from the late-'50s or early-'60s. It was a British or American film, but it was set in Europe in the turn of the century--at least partly in Switzerland--and it was about an attempt to cross the Alps by hot-air balloon. At least one boy was a major character. At one point, one of the men (the balloon's pilot?) had a paper scale model of the balloon, and was demonstrating how it would fly. The model caught fire and burned. They ended up going over the Alps in the balloon. Thanks in advance.

He eventually falls and freezes (supposedly) to death. Many, many years later, a group of scientists found him frozen in a block of ice and proceeded to bring him back for study. After thawing, they were surprised to find his body fluids still intact and extracted a sample of his semen and gave it to a technician for testing/typing. Meanwhile, in another room there was a couple waiting to have artificial insemination done. The husband's sample was given to the same technician-who got them mixed up and gave the woman the semen from the caveman instead and she became pregnant with a son who was very smart and had unusual abilities. Because of a stolen hard drive from the doctor, it was soon discovered how the child was conceived. The boy died at about age 6 because he had no immunities against modern illnesses. I believe the movie title had "child" in it, but I am not sure. If you can tell me the name of this movie I would be very appreciative. Thanks!!

Result: The Water Babies (1978) (again) directed by Lionel Jefferies. Thanx Simnia, Juniper, Jeremy, Alli. Mar 30, 2006

I saw this movie in the early 80's on cable. It was a English movie about a boy that ends up in a mansion and he either steals something or is accused of stealing something from the little rich girl that lives there. He ends up being chased and runs into a lake to avoid being caught. The movie then becomes animated as they show the boy under water. It's a little like Bed Knobs and Broomsticks but the boy becomes animated as well.

I remember seeing a movie where a gang robbed a town and then escaped by plane and parachuted out at regular intervals to make their escape. The gang didn't know each other's names, and I think they referred to each other as colours (Mr Green etc) - but I'm not 100% sure that it was colours (could have been numbers). At the end of the movie one of the gang recognise the leader as a clown appearing in a children's programme on TV. I think it was made late sixties early seventies - but could be off the mark there, but certainly was made pre-eighties.RegardsP

Result: Karakter (1997) Oscar-winning Dutch film Thanx Midnight Creeper . Apr 5, 2007

For months I've been trying to remember the name of a color movie I want to see again. I saw it in a movie theater sometime in the 1990's. The title of the movie was the dutch (?)name of the main character, a boy. The movie was set in the Netherlands, or maybe Belgium, and was about a boy who lived with his mother. The time period must have been somewhere in the early 1900's. They were poor. Lived in a city in a small but respectable town house (appartment). Silence permeated their relationship. They communicated in a language of silence. The mom hardly talked at all. The quiet boy found a book and taught himself to read English from it. His command of English, coupled with his intelligence and persistence, helped him enter a different world and become (if I remember correctly) a succesfull lawyer. I particularly remember a scene in which people who failed to pay their rent were evicted from their homes and their belongings were piled up on the street. Does any of this ring a bell for you?Thank youMonica

Result: The Canterville Ghost Based on Oscar Wilde's first published short story. There are several versions of this. I think the requester is refering to the production that starred Patrick Stewart as Sir Siimon. Thanx Janet the Film Goddess. Jul 11, 2009

I remember the following - a movie that was on PBS when I was a kid, it seemed to have a British appearance to it, possibly made in the early 80s or late 70s. It was about a girl and a boy maybe, in the 1940s perhaps, but the girl lived in this house and there was this older ghost, who I think became her friend in the end. The ending scene is of the girl and the ghost swinging on a beach or sandy area and she gets off and the ghost dissapears but the swing continues to swing and she says something like "Even though I can't see you, I still know you're there." I also remember something involving a mirror and the ghost or a closet where he appears and scares the girl or someone else.I have been searching for any evidence of this movie for a decade. Any I'd be incredibly thankful for any clue you could provide. Thanks!Taylor
