Its late at night and a couple enter a restaurant. The restaurant is crowded. All the diners appear to be having a good time. The women and man are eating soup and the women's spoon brings up a finger. The man complains to the waiter who then loosens the fabric that is covering the walls and shows mirrors all around the restaurant. The only people who cast a reflection are the young couple. This is a scene from a movie I probably saw via VCR about 10-15years ago.

All I can remmber is a kid who was a afraid of a monster under his bed, you eventuallly saw it and as far as I remember it was blue and took him through to a monster world where at some point it removed his head and bowled with it. The video cover was of the monster I believe.
Result: The Mad Magician (1954) with Vincent Price and Eva Gabor. Thanx Alli.
This was in TV in the States in the early to mid 50s. It is about a murderous magician who throws confetti everywhere he goes. The soundtrack is almost entirely made up of the song, Swedish Rhapsody. It ends at a train station with the police finding confetti on the platform. The magician has escaped!

a film around the time of the late 70s or, more likely early 80s, and was either British or American. The one scene she can remember is where a woman is in the shower and starts screaming. She then gorily gives birth to a full-grown man. The closest we've been able to find is Xtro, or maybe an amalgam of scenes from Society, but neither is right.

In about the 1990s (1995 or 1996 probably) I saw a movie. It was color, animated and it was on video. I didn't see it in the theater but it is possible that at one time it was in the theater. It was about a kid who went to bed one night. The he woke up and his bed was flying. It took to this other land were he met a princess. Then, he woke up again and fell out of his bed. He went downstairs and the princess was still there and she had brought him some cookies. He wrote a note to his mother and then he and the princess got into a blimp( I think.) Then the kid got a key that could open any door, he just couln't open one door because bad things would happen. Of course, he opened the door and then something bad came out of the door and everyone was kidnapped and the kid had to save them. Then I think he pushed watever it was back into the door and everything was better again.
Result: The Great Riviera Bank Robbery (1979) maybe* Based on the true story of Albert Spaggiari. Thanx Marphisa.
I am looking for a film I saw in the Late 70's. It was about a bank Robbery where the robbers cut through the bottom of a bank vault on the weekend and to get away after the heist they went through the sewer systems which for some reason were like overflowing with water. I think I also remember they stole bearer bonds and lots of jewelry from the deposit boxes and im pretty sure the movie takes place in new york city.
Result: Aenigma (1987) by Lucio Fulci, sounds very similar to this post, except it's a girl that is in a coma. Thanx Alli. Mar 14, 2006
I saw this movie in a theater in 1985 or 1986, but I don't remember the name, or any actors' or characters' names. It was a contemporary movie set in California, I think; I know it was at least in the U.S. It was a supernatural crime thriller. The murderer was in a coma in the hospital, and murders were still being committed while the guy was in a coma. A group of teenagers seemed to know he was a murderer but no one believed them. I remember a plainclothes detective who always wore a fedora-style hat. He befriended the teens and eventually stopped the murderer.

I saw it on VHS in the 80's im going to say mid to late but i was still young so i'm not 100% for sure the exact year. the only thing i can remember is this group of kids teenagers or what have you were sitting around a camp fire telling a story about a woman who was raped and put in a nut house and had a baby and then she escaped or something to that effect and they all thought it was just a tale and she was in the woods and killing this group of people and i remember her being covered in moss and i remember a scene where i think it was two females walking and they tripped one of those logs with the spikes in it and it flew down and killed one of them.

Its a B&W film that I saw on TV not sure of year or decade. Its a suspense film about two kids (a boy and girl) and a nanny/teacher in a huge old mansion. Kids were frightening the nanny/teacher about ghosts and dead father/uncle in the house. Mansion had a huge fireplace. A huge storm brewing outside and either a dead father or uncle knocking on window. Nanny/teacher saw him outside. I don't recall ending but the movie game me the creeps. Last time seen was about 1985 on late, late night tv.
Result: Forever Young, Forever Free (1976) starring José Ferrer and Karen Valentine. Thanx Marphisa.
I am looking for a movie from possibly the late 1970s that I saw on television. I do believe it was in color. What I remember is there were two young boys, I am guessing, around age 9 or 10. One boy was black and one boy was white. I remember the white boy, along with other children, getting off a bus while on a field trip. The black boy happened along while the other children were being led into a building and a teacher or guide saw the black boy and assumed he was part of the class. She told him to stay with the other children. Later the two boys ran off together and found a large tractor tire and pushed each other down a hill while sitting in the tire. The white boy injured or broke his arm, so the black boy ran to get help. I do believe he told the headmaster and they went to where the other boy was and he was taken to the hospital. The black boy tried to visit his friend in the hospital but he was not allowed.
Result: Once Upon A Forest (1993) Thanx Marphisa.
I'm 18, born in 1987, and I believe I probably saw this movie at 6 or 7. So, the movie could possibly be dated between 1993-1997. I saw this movie on tape, but I think it was previously released in the theatres. This was a cartoon in color. As I saw this over a decade ago, I will do my best to describe the plot. A diverse group of young animals living in a forest all gather for school each day in the tree of a wise old animal in the forest. He teaches them all, along with his granddaughter. Then, somewhere along the line, a gas truck crashes at the top of the road that leads the forest. The fumes go into all of the animals homes and the parents of the kids get very sick or are even killed. Upon the commotion, the kids go to see what's going on and see what has happened. The little granddaughter runs into her home to try to save her parents and falls into a life threatening sleep from the gas fumes. When the kids want to save her, the wise teacher sends them out on a great adventure to find the root that can cure her. They build a flying machine and end up retrieving the root. I believe they save the girl just in time and they all live happily ever after.

I got to see this movie sometime in the late 1980's. It was a cartoon flick in which there are these robotic characters in outer space who can change to these different machines like cars, bikes, planes etc. they fight, I think the bad robots and in the end about 6 to 7 of the good robots come together to form on big gigantic machine to fight the enemy. I would really appreciate you if you could find the name of this cartoon movie. I saw this movie when I was really young and vaguely remember the plot which I have explained below. Okay one more thing on of the good robot falls ill and then wakes up only in the end i think.

The movie title i am looking for was probably made in the 70's, quite possibly very early 80's. Its about a group of scientists who are gathered at a church to investigate a strang tube filled with green stuff that supposedly dates back to before christ or something. They find out that the devil was actually an alien and that his son was suspended in this tube to hold him captive. Also, i remember them finding out that jesus was sent to earth to tell everyone about the alien threat but didn't believe him. I also remember groups of homeless people would just stare at the church, kind of in a catatonic state, and they started to kill the scienctists that left the church.

I'm looking for a made-for-tv movie that came on in the 80's. A woman is living alone in a sea-side mansion and begins to be haunted by an obsessed male spirit. There is a scene where she is painting a scenery and becomes sort of "possessed" and finds she has painted the man's image in the painting. Another scene takes place in the bathroom where the man's image appears in the mirror.

I saw this really scary short fim in 1989 (In color)on tv. I don't know if it was HBO or not. I can tell you all about it but don't know any names of actors or the title. The short flick opens up with a woman doing some type of occultic black magic. She is trying to call her dead child back from the dead. He finally shows up but you can tell he is distant. He goes around the house making sure all the windows and doors are locked. A series of verbage is shared between he and his mother and he starts walking up the stairs she says something like it is so good to have you back. He responds, He didn't want to come back, so he sent me! he turns around and it is some devilish looking creature. It catches you totally off gaurd and causes your hair to stand on end. I'm not sure but it may have been part of a trilogy! I always tell everyone that is the most scared I have ever been in any show but I never know the name of it. Or if I can get that on DVD.
Result: The Beyond (1981) aka Seven Doors of Death starring David Warbeck & Catriona McCall, directed by Italian giallo master, Lucio Fulci. The Italian title is E tu vivrai nel terrore - L'aldilà. Thanx Mark, Alli, Marphisa, Stareater.
I believe the film I'm looking for is featured on Bravo's 100 scariest movie moments, but none of the titles seem right. It is probably late 70's early 80's era movie. What I remember from the movie is a red-haired freckled face girl. There is one moment in particular I remember, the red-haired girl walks into a morgue or autopsy room and sees two grisly dead bodies. She looks and sees the female that was doing the autopsy lying dead on the floor, some sort of caustic substance is spilling over the dead womans face and it starts to eat away the skin. The blood and dissolved flesh forms a pool that flows closer to the girl who freaks out an runs and opens a door where a zombie like person is on the other side and attacks her. I think the next part of the film shows the girl going to a funeral and then displaying her milky zombie eyes. Theres another part of the film where she is hit or shot and her head gorily explodes.
Result: Scissors (again!) (1991) starring Sharon Stone. Thanx Alli.
I saw this movie around 1998 on late late night hbo/showtime/cinemax tv. The clothing and coloring appears to be a late 60s early 70s movie (in color). The main character is a lady which is anti-social. I remember she had a party of sorts at her apartment, and the neighbor she had seen before showed up. Not sure what happens in-between, but she ends up awaking in another apartment. It is a two-room flat several floors up, of what appears to be empty except for her room. There is an automated machine doing something at regular intervals in the main room. The other room starts out locked, but after some time the door is opened and a man is lying in a bed. He is dead. She can find no way out and is shouting out the window to passerby's in the end I believe.

A family (two adults and two children) are outside this very large old country house and they are by their car. They have packed up their car and are leaving the house, bad things happened there while they were there. The father goes back into the house for some reason and goes up the stairs to a room. I think a grandmother was in a coffin in that room and he was going to pay his respect. He walks into the room and there is a rocking chair facing the window and it is rocking. As he walks toward the rocking chair and goes up to it, the chair turns slightly and it is the grandmother alive and scary looking. She says something and he runs toward the window, crashes through it and falls two stories landing face down on top of the family car.

I remember watching this when I was maybe 7 or 8 (which was maybe in 1997 or something) on television so it probably is pretty old. There was a group of maybe 11 children maybe 8 years old. 5 boys and 6 girls. They had white hair and dressed in uniform. They walked in two straight lines and the last girl didn't have a partner. They had psychic powers or something and made people kill themselves. There was one scene where they hypnotized this guy to go on top of a house or trailer with a broom and he tipped over and the broom went through his chest. In the end, the last girl found her partner and he was dead/aborted and was in a jar. She carried that home or something.

Result: Perfect Prey Thanx Me.
I only saw the beginning of this movie on TV when I was a kid. I lived in the house I saw it in between 1973-1977. The only part I saw was the opening credits which showed a bunch of old collectible porceline dolls on a wall (and possibly clocks like the old regulator pendulum kind but I'm not 100% sure). They were like the kind that collectors might display and looked to be antiques from the late 1800's through the early 20th century. The dolls were in the dark with just enough bluish to grey light that it cast creepy shadows across their faces. From what I remember, some of the dolls faces were cracked. There were also weird and spooky chimes playing in the background, maybe from the clocks, I'm not sure. I believe these chimes were included in the background music as well.

As a kid, I saw a horror movie on one of the three main networks in the mid 70's to maybe 1981. I only remember a couple of parts because I kept having to change the channel due to my fear. There was a scene with a stream and two fisherman and a woman in a long white dress. I think a body was later found by the stream. There was a lake or pond with some sort of a being in the water- maybe a woman/ghost moving through the water. There was also an old house and some sort of a creature with long nails who is trying to claw through the upstairs door. I'm sorry that I can't be of more help, but I would appreciate any ideas.

Result: Night Of The Demons (1987) Thanx Runninrabbit.
This movie is similar to "Night of the Demons". I promise it is not. I know that movie to well. The movie is about a Halloween party. The lead character is an attractive blond. The demons resemble the demons from the "Evil Dead" (First Movie). All I remember is that there is a large wall. When they try to escape the property there is no exit. Eventually the main girl helps the others escape by hoisting them over the wall. She doesn't make it and sacrifices herself. Should be an 80's or very early ninties movie. I thought it was a pretty scary movie.
Result: So Big (1953) starring Jane Wyman based on the Edna Ferber novel. Thanx Marphisa.
I can not remember the name of the movie, I want to say it is "So Big". I can not remember the name of the famous actress in it. It is about a immigrant family, the father passes away and the mother raises the son alone. Her nickname for him is "so big". I know that she helps another little boy, who is interested in music. He becomes a famous musician. Her son is some type of executive, and has really forgotten all his family upbringing.

i saw a movie in the early 80's where a bunch of teenagers end up going to some pond or body of water where there are a lot of pieces of construction equipment under water and someone gets trapped down there. man it freaked me out as a little boy! it was dark when they went under water; i think the water was murky too maybe.
Result: The Boy Who Could Fly (1986) starring Fred Savage, Lucy Deakins, and Jay Underwood. Thanx Alli, Marphisa.
Little boy plays with G.I. Joes, stages battles and has complex stories for them. He buries them in the backyard when they "die." He has to dig up his Duke figure for some reason during a rain storm. (extremely emotional scene) He or another kid in the movie has trouble with a bully. Near the end of the movie he shoots the bully with a squirtgun full of piss. Think it was mounted on a big wheel, but don't remember. It may or may not have Fred Savage in it.
Result: Mountain Family Robinson (1979) Thanx heather. Jul 11, 2006
It was about a family of four (father, mother, brother and sister) who were in a small plane crash. The father was injured and they had him laid out in some type of hammock like bed and the two children went off to find help (I think) and encountered some kind of wild dogs or wolves. I believe the brother was older than the sister. I always thought it was Kim Richards that played the sister, but I can't find anything about it on her filmography page. I am 29 and I used to watch this when I was probably about 7 or so. I do remember that it was played in two parts and I never got to see the second part. I thought it wasn't going to be played until the following year, but it was probably more like a week and just seemed like a year to my little mind.

Saw part of a film on TV, think it was dubbed, in color, and perhaps made in the early 80's? Fantasy/fairy-tale, probably a retelling of King GrislyBeard via the Brothers Grimm. I recall a leafy, autumnal forest scene with our heroine in rags or animal skin & fur scraps. I think our hero returns to the heroine in many different guises until she learns humiltity and learns to love him. (I am well aware that this is a very common fairy-tale scenario, but I still haven't found the right film!) It's likely that the heroine was a princess-reduced-to-rags before true love and humility save the day. I know that there are several Russian films that might fit this, but it felt more early to mid 1980s than 60's or 70's. Live action, not animated.

Main character is seen loaded into an ambulance. He turns toward the driver and it's the masked killer in the driver's seat. The movie ends with the survivor banging on the ambulance window while the killer drives off. There may have been a party in the skyscraper and the killer may have fallen off the roof (?).
Result: Dreamscape (1984) starring Dennis Quaid, Max Von Sydow, and David Patrick Kelly as the Snakeman. Thanx Mark, Stareater, ALNA70, Marphisa, Jeremy, runninrabbit.
This movie was from the mid-80's and aired a lot on HBO. It opens up in a dreamscape where a person is in a deserted, ghost-like town and is killed, I think by a title wave. Anyway the movie has a lot to do with dreaming and/or murders caused within dreams. I can remember that in the end, the bad guy is tricked to revert into a child in his dreams and is then killed in real life. His body had a weird, reptilian look when it was killed. Maybe this next part is from another movie, but I also seem to remember a radio being dropped into a bath tub electrifying a woman to death.

A family move to a remote house and seem happy to be there at first, theres definately a young boy in the film an possibly a girl. Theres a maze featured in the film and a big old red amercian barn and possibly a set of two swings. Theres a circle in the bedroom and the parents have to get the little boy into it to stop him being possessed or taken by something. There is a priest featured in it who advises the family and tries to help. Theres also a glass jar in the kitchen cupboard which has green stuff in it which makes the sound of a crying baby! we remember them running and ending up lost in the maze. The biggest thing i can remember is them being in the barn (not knowing how to get there)and the barn doors flying open and they can see a big field and they nearly fall out to the ground. The other thing I remember are the family are terrified and the son goes a bit evil and they keep trying to get him in the circle or pentagon!

I'm looking for the title of a horror movie which I'm pretty sure was featured as part of the "Horror Double Bill" series shown on Saturday nights on BBC 2 during the early 80's? Well, the movie in question was filmed in black & white & as I remember the plot was about this old mansion house where a group of doctors were invited to stay for a week by this guy in a wheeel chair. Anyway, they started getting murdered one by one. Nobody thought this guy in the wheel chair was the murderer because it was thought he couldn't even walk until one of the final scenes he get's up out of his wheel chair when chasing sombody.

The one scene that sticks out in my head is when they're on the verge of breaking up and one of the band members throws a guitar onto the train tracks. After the train rolls by it turns out the guitar is hardly damaged at all. Everyone in the scene keeps talking about how they expected more damage.

It's a plane crash movie very much like Flight of the Phoenix (not the version with Jimmy Stewart or D.Quaid), except they are military personel. I think WW2 (Navy??) plane crashed on a desert. There is some Emblem on the tail of the plane. The crew tries to escape but can't. They play baseball, because one kid on the crew was to be a professional player after the war. They can't escape because all five of them are really dead. I belive I saw it on television probably (1975-85'ish).

I'm looking for a film of the 60's or 70's that has an atmosphere similar to Rosemary's baby (though not a Polanski film) but is on the topic of a girl living in an apartment who is primed to become the devil's bride by either her family or neighbours, it concludes with the devil bursting through an ornate window or mirror. I remember this film vaguely and am interested to know whether it is an actual film or if I have just combined aspects of other films in my addled brain. I think it could be British but not Hammer Horror.

This movie was probably made in the late 70s to middle 80s. I saw it in the latter period, but it was on free TV by then and therefore may have been somewhat dated. Part of the film takes place in flashbacks (1930s-50s?) concerning several college-age boys who are all infatuated with a beautiful debutante-type girl (about the same age). At a dance or similar social event, she falls and hits her head; they assume she's dead and for whatever reason they can't go to the police; they dump her body in a car and push it into a river/lake. The water wakes her up, and they see her drown; they swear an oath of secrecy and go on with their lives and never tell. The rest of the movie takes place in present day, when her ghost crops up and starts murdering her killers--now old men. There's some sort of plot development such that she's either seducing one of their sons or possessing the son's fiancee; either way, the son is in danger for the father's sins. I seem to recall a wedding scene (or wedding dream-sequence) in which the son and the ghost-girl are at the alter and when he pulls aside her veil, we see her horrible, slimy skull.
Result: The Worst Witch starring Fairuza Balk and Diana Rigg with Tim Curry. Thanx Cllegegrl, J Star.
This movie came out during the 1980s (in color) but I saw it probably mid to early '90s. I dont remember much, but I do know that the movie came on the Disney channel and I think it was a British movie. It was a Halloween movie with a girl who was a witch and I belive she was at some kind of boarding school where the headmaster either knew she was a withc -or- just did not like her, and i think at the end the girl flies off with her broom stick from the school...
Result: Poltergeist 3 Thanx bobross.
I saw this film in the late 80's, possibly early 90's. Was really young so details are blurry. What I remember:- A woman looking in the mirror and the skin on her face cracking- Somebody being pushed down an elevator shaft- A woman in the bathtub tearing out of her skin which had become some kind of shell
Result: Fade To Black (1980) recreated the famous wheelchair scene from Kiss of Death. Thanx RomanyX.
I saw the movie in a theatre in the very early 80s. It was a horror, or at least was scary for me being a small child. All I can remember is an old woman at the top of a long staircase in a wheelchiar. I have the impression that she either fell down the stairs or was pushed but I don't remember seeing that.
Result: The Haunting Passion (1983) (TV) starring Jane Seymour. Thanx Marphisa. May 12, 2006
I'm trying to find the title to a made-for-tv movie I saw somewhere between 1980-1984. I remember a woman in a sea-side house living alone. She is a painter who becomes haunted by a malevolent and obsessed ghost of a man. While she is painting, the ghost controls her and she ends up painting his eerie image in the painting. Another time she sees his face in a steamy bathroom mirror.
Result: Crawlspace starring klaus kinski. Thanx findfilm.
The basic set-up in the film is an apartment building where a weird middle-aged man lives upstairs from a younger male. This was 80's version of a scary suspense thriller. The older guy upstairs was a murderer, the only thing that stands out in my memory is that he wound up killing his neighbor from below with his chair. This chair had a hidden button on the armrest, which if pressed would cause a sharp long stud to come up in the middle of the chair, thus stabbing its occupant.
Result: Crimewave Thanx Mark.
Result: Johnny Dangerously (1984) starring Michael Keaton & Joe Piscopo. Thanx Jeremy.
I saw this movie on HBO in 1987, and was made in the mid-80's. It was a comedy and kind of a cult classic. All I remember was a older heavy-set guy who stocked and chased around a couple of women. He ended up having a few bowling balls fall on his head while he was chasing a girl also. At the end, there was a whacky car chase seen. The man being chased in his car kept tearing paper of the car to change its idenity. It kept going on and on, like the car had wallpaper on it and the guy kept tearing it off.
Result: The Lost Treasure Of Matacumbe (1976) Disney Thanx Marphisa, anon.
I was young, so probably 1975-1980 were the years the movie came out. This was in the theater because I saw it two or three times. The story started with the main character (I think a blond haired boy) who is orphaned by a fire in his house. He has some sort of treasure map. He meets some characters along the way (remember a scene with an eccentric man shafting people into buying cure-all elixirs at a fair- very small town Tom Sawyer feel). I remember the group of treasure seekers (boy and adult companions) find an island and fall into a hole with a skeleton and a scene with tons of little bugs attacking them. Finally a scene with native Indians chasing them with bows and arrows and some treasure chest being found.
Result: Bug (1975) starring Bradford Dillman. Thanx Marphisa, Mark.
I am wondering if you remember a movie with lava bugs in it. I think it was on tv also. I saw a movie on tv back in the early 70's. It was color and there were bugs in it the were killing people and burning them. They were like cockroaches filled with lava or someother hot fluid. All I remember is a scene where a person is on the phone and gets burned because one of the bugs in on her phone.
Result: Staying Alive (1983) The movie quote goes as follows: Take your bloody hands off me! Don't you ever touch me again! Who do you think you're dealing with, some little groupie that jumps when you call? Is that who you think I am? We met, I liked you, we made it. What do you think it was, true love? And you think I used you, what about you using me? Everybody uses everybody...don't they? Thanx Mini Me.
I remember seeing the movie in 1988-1989 but it could have been made before that time. All I can remember is a british woman fighting with her boyfriend/husband/lover and she says to him, "Take your bloody hands off me. Who do you think you're dealing with, some groupy who jumps when you call? And you think that I used you, what about you using me? Everybody uses everybody don't they?"
Result: The Orphan Train (1979) Thanx ALNA70.
I'm trying to find out the name of another made-for-tv movie from 1980-84. It was set in the early 1900's, either the States or England. It's about a bunch of orphan kids living on the streets and their struggle to survive. One of them is a young girl dressed as a boy; no one knows she is a girl. She steals an orange from the market and an older boy takes the rap for it and the girl and others watch their friend hang in market square for the crime. This disturbed me as a kid! Then the kids are taken by a man who wishes to care for them. I remember a scene where the girl is on a train and needs to go to the bathroom but she must pee in a pot in front of another man and can't because she doesn't want anyone to know she is a girl. I know in the end she wears a cute little dress and has long blonde hair and was super adorable!
Result: The Great Land Of Small (1987) yet again. Thanx Juniper. Jul 12, 2006
I barely remember seeing it on TV in the late 80's or early 90's. A boy and a girl find a little person lost in the woods. They hide him from their parents in a barn. The little person worries about losing his gold dust and getting back home through the end of a rainbow. Also during the film he sings "It's raining, it's pouring... ". My memory is fuzzy, but I think it was low quality looking film in color.
Result: Are You Afraid Of The Dark? (1992) from nickelodeon. It was melissa joan hart's second TV credit, playing "Daphne" in episode: The Tale of the Frozen Ghost (episode # 2.8) 8/14/1993. Thanx Ms_rissy.
I think it had melissa joan heart in it and she was a ghost. She was only visible to one boy and tht boy liked her. I also remember a bridge and these guys who were horrible that may have had something to do with her death. in the end i think she went to heaven or something. I saw it on tv the first time so it was made before that maybe in the 80s.
Result: Making Contact (1985) It's not your regular kid flick, it mixes horror/sci-fi/children's genre and dosen't come out perfect (it also rips off lots of '80s blockbusters at a time too) Thanx Johns_10.
This is very vague and some bits could be wrong as i saw this film in the mid 80s, on vhs so would have been made earlier. A boy has a doll, possibly a ventriloquists dummy, think it had a monacle, I remember the dummy being evil and either killing people or getting boy to do it. Remember something about a red toy phone lighting up and coming out of a wardrobe.
OK this is the same film this person is talking about, but I vagly remember a little more detail... Ok there is a little green dummy guy who wears a black hat, and drinks these lime green drinks (he likes them a lot)and I think he had a little bit of white hair. And in one scene the boy is tied up with the red phone in his closet. Also I think there are two of these movies cause I remember in the first one the dummy guy was evil, but in the second one he was good. Also the boy had a robot that was very similar to R2-D2, and was attacked in the woods by another boys toy tank. Then one scene I remember the boys mom cleaning up the robot and fixing it! Thats about all I can remember.. OH another scene that pops out in my mind is I think the boy had an older brother that was tied down with a swinging pendulm above him in a castle or old house being tore down scene. But anyways the monster (dummy) looks like a cross between yoda, and the green toilet monster from the ghoulies movies.
Result: Ruby (1977) aka Bloody Ruby with Piper Laurie. Thanx Alli.
Result: Ghost Story Thanx Mark.
During the mid 70's(give or take a few years) I went to the drive-in with my older stepbrother and seen this movie the setting was in the 1940s or 50's where a car filled with guys looking for a good time arrive at this house in a country setting at night.(If my memory serves me right they seemed to have been dressed as if they had just came from a prom or some othe function) At this house is a woman who is alone, but seems to invite the guys inside or maybe they force themselves inside where an accident occurs a lttle time later and the women dies instantly from this accident. One by one the dead woman extracts revenge upon each individual that was there that night. For some reason I thought the name of this movie was Ruby, but havn't had any luck in finding but 1 movie by that name and it isn't the correct movie.
Result: Mr. Boogedy (1986) (TV) with David Faustino and Kristy Swanson. Thanx Alli.
As a child in either the very late 1980's or very early 1990's I remember watching a film with my babysitter that we always refered to as "The Boogyman". Now, I did a search, and the only films I have found are R rated horror films. My babysitter was always quite protective of us, so I can't imagine that the results I found were what we watched. I'm also not sure if the film was specifically a childrens movie or not. My memory is faint of this film, but two distinct things I remember are: A bluish-white "ghost boy" in the basement of some house, I believe. Another thing I remember, I believe involved a vaccuum cleaner being used (I believe at the climax of the film) to suck up some sort of "magical cloak" from the villain of the film.
Result: Escape To Witch Mountain 1975) starring Kim Richards and Ike Eisenmann Thanx changeable65, Marphisa, spice_jp, J Star, Alli.
I saw this film sometime during the 80s. I saw it on television. I think its a kids movie, in which I rememeber that there is a brother and younger sister who parents drowned. They have repeated flashbacks or dreams of the parents drowning. I remember at the end there is a spaceship that comes out behind a tree and then flies off into the distance. Also, the kids or at least the sister has some sort of magical powers since I recall that she made things levitate. Also, towards the end there is a scene with a black stallion at a gate.
Result: Le Dernier Amant Romantique aka Playmate France/Spain. Directed by Just Jaeckin (of "Emmanuelle" fame). It seems that the movie has not yet been released on dvd and there doesn't seem to be a video available, either. was on Cinemax around l979,in both subtitles and dubbed. It starred Dayle Hadden, who was then and still is now, a model for Revlon Cosmetics. I even e mailed her to find where to obtain a copy but recieved no response. I hope this information is helpful! I do remember it was about the Last Romantic Lover Contest, kind of a Cosmo magazine sponsored men's beauty pageant, and a lion tamer from a small gypsy-like circus who entered it to earn money for a new lion. He comes in first runner up and wins a date with the women of his choice. Of course, Dayle Hadden played the role of the magazine representive who is his choice for the date and they proceed to fall in love. It really was a wonderful movie; I'm pretty darn sure it was on the Cinemax cable channel- 5 or 6 times within a month, and I watched it every time, both dubbed and what I think was french or italian. Thanx Juniper, Mary. Mar 9, 2006
I am looking for a film titled The Last Romantic Lover. It was release on television in 1979 (I think it was actually HBO). I believe it was released in Spanish and French with English subtitles. The plot was a woman who falls in love with a circus performer. I would like to purchase it rather than renting it and don't have a preference as far as VHS or DVD.
Result: The Guardian (1990) (again!!) starring Jenny Seagrove and directed by William Friedkin. Thanx Stareater, Alli, Marphisa, ALNA70.
I'm looking for the name of a horror movie, It's at least 10 years old and from what I remember it is about a big tree in a garden, And there is someone killing baby's (I thought a witch) to keep the tree alive, you can see baby heads popping out of the tree, in the end a man takes down the tree (with a chainsaw?) and there is a fountain of blood
Result: In Possession (1984) (TV) an installment of Hammer House of Mystery and Suspense. Thanx Marphisa.
I am looking for a horror film I saw in 1984 whilst in the UK on TV. From my memory, the film was British, but I maybe mistaken. The film itself looked fairly recent when I saw it - possibly mid-70's onwards. I was only 8 when I saw the film, so the details are a bit hazy, but it's remained in my mind so I'm desperate to find it! The plot is this - A young couple (couple 1) live in an apartment block and a new couple move into the room next door who are slightly older (couple 2). After a while, strange things start to happen, the couple's bird (a yellow one - that's all i remember) goes missing, they hear weird noises etc etc. This eventually leads to some sort of conflict between the two couples which ends in the the woman of couple 1 going missing. After a lot of suspense and horror, of which the details I can't remember, the man from couple 1 discovers that the woman has been buried alive in the grounds outside the apartment block. The film finishes and woman 1 wakes up from what appears to have been a nightmare. She tells the husband about the dream, but are disturbed by a couple moving in next door. As they look, the woman notices that the couple have exactly the same bird as in her dream (the one that went missing) and she screams. There the film ends.
