Result: The New Kids (I think that the blonde tough guy was James Spader) Thanx Steve.

There was a movie I watched sometime in the 1970s or very early 80s approximately.. The plot revolves around a family who takes in their relatives children after the parents die in an accident. The kids are from Hawaii.. The boy is having trouble fitting in and eventually runs afoul of the local tough guy and his gang. they surround the new kid and the tough guy pulls a knife on the kid who kicks it out of his hand and saves the day.. he says he learned Tae kwon Do back in Hawaii and starts to get along.. The local tough guy was played by a blond kid.. he would be possibly in his late 40s or early 50s now..

Result: Make Way For Tomorrow (1937) starring Beulah Bondi and Victor Moore. Thanx Marphisa.

The movie i am searching for was a low budget film. It was probably made in the 1930's. The story was about an aging couple who could no longer live on there own. There children could only take in one of them,so the other had to go to a rest home.On there last nite together they had dinner in a restaurant that they had visited some fifty yeare ago when they first met. In the end she sees him off at penn station never to see each other again. Very sad.Makes the notebook with James Garner look like a comedy.I last saw this movie on p b s about 15 years ago.

Result: Like A Prayer This may sound far-fetched, but is there any chance that it wasn't a preview but a video? Sounds very much like Madonna's video to me - and time frame would fit, too. Thanx Juniper. Apr 11, 2006

I didn't actually see the movie...only the preview. I remember that it was a horror movie and one scene was a girl running into a church (something was chasing her??) and a statue of jesus that moved. I think it was around the late 80s or early 90s.

#1295

Result: Screams Of A Winter's Night (1979) has a segment "The Green Light" where frat boys have to stay in an old haunted hospital or something, and they follow a green light. Thanx Alli. Mar 7, 2006

Back in the late 70's maybe early 80's I remember seeing a horror film that no one seems to know the name of. THe movie takes place in a lodge where a group of young people have come together to tell horror stories. One of the stories was called " The Green Light " which some kids car breaks down in front of a tall scary house. When they nter the house they all break up in different directions to look around. While they are seperated a misterious green light appears and leads each one to their doom.

Result: Twice Dead with Todd Bridges. Thanx Alli. Jul 3, 2006

Ok, the VHS I saw was back in the late 80's, and was in colour. It concerned a guy who had moved into an old house in which some old guy had hung himself. There was a part where he saw the ghost of the old guy in a mirror (I think?), and another where he was asleep in bed, and a length of rope began to wind around him/ his neck before he was woken up (I think by his girlfriend). I also remember a part where some punks had killed his cat and hung it on the back of a door, and a sort of revenge-prank involving a cheesy muppet-looking thing glued onto one of the punks when he was unconscious.

#1293

Result: The Monster Sqaud (1987) Thanx Alli.

This was a movie from the early 80's and in color. It was on VHS and had won a foriegn film award. The movie was centered around a mansion/old house and had various charaters living in the house. I remember a boy walking thru the woods, then being chased by a wolfman type character. The wolfman character slashes the boys face and the boy falls into a hole and is buried while still alive. I also seem to remember a spider women that lived in the house and possible a vampire character.

#1291

Result: Dinosaur (1980) Starring Fred Savage. Thanx Starius.

i am trying to find a movie that may have been 80s or early 90s. possibly a cult classic. there is a brief scene of clay animation dinosaurs, as a child (i think a boy) narrates what happened to the dinosaurs and why they became extinct. The dinosaurs, as they listen to the narration, turn to face the camera, and upon hearing their fate, start crying.

#1290

Result: Huckleberry Finn And His Friends (1979) (TV series) Thanx Alli. Mar 7, 2006

I remember watching episodes called The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn in the early to mid 1980's. I think they were 30 minute episodes and either on HBO or Showtime. There are so many versions of this story, but I can't find this one in particular.

#1289

Result: Cotton Candy (1978) (TV) written and directed by Ron Howard. Thanx Alli.

#1289

Result: Die Laughing (1980) Thanx ALNA70, Colleen.

It was released in 1980 and stared Robby Benson, Linda Grovenor, Charles Durning, Elsa Lanchester and Bud Cort. Benson was a cab driver who was also an aspiring singer. He gets blamed for the murder of a scientist and has to avoid both the cops and Russian spys. Bud Cort played the guy who crashed through the window wearing spiked shoes and got stuck in the floor. The character was also phobic about being touched which was why everyone mobbing him was the worst thing that could happen to him at the end of the film. - Colleen

It had to be made in the 70's but I watched it on HBO in the early 80's. The movie is centered around a band and for some reason there is a guy that's trying to kill the band or something. Anyway towards the end of the movie, the villian trys crashing through a glass ceiling down on the band with spiked shoes. He get's stuck to the stage and can't move. The singer/guitarist tells the audience that the guy has tickets to the next Kiss concert all over his body so the audience rushes to the stage and tears him apart to find the tickets. I think the name of the band was Cotton Candy.

#1288

Result: Snow Bound (TV) by Harry Mazer. Thanx Changeable.

The movie I'm looking for was likely produced in the 70's or early 80's. I have sporadic memories of the flick (and I hope that I'm not confusing and thereby combining memories from two long lost films!). I remember it starting off at a roller rink. One of the main characters, a teenage girl, leaves to go home. It's snowing pretty heavily outside. She ends up getting (hitching?) a ride from an older boy. The snow gets heavier and heavier. Their car breaks down and, eventually, they have to rely upon eachother to survive. I could've sworn the title of the movie was "Snowbound", but I can't find anything under that title that remotely resembles the movie I saw. I saw it on VHS and borrowed it from my local public library in Massachusetts in the late 80's.

#1287

Result: Melody (1971) starring Mark Lester. Thanx Marphisa.

It was a film for kids. Color, although very washed out, british looking. I recall seeing this movie on TV around 1980. It took place on a city near a coast. A couple of kids, a boy and a girl, around 10 years old, escaped their respective homes due to different issues with their families, went walking down the beach, and celebrated a symbolic marriage in a cave (or under a pier... can't remember). The police found them in the end. Their families were after them.

#1286

Result: The Water Babies (1978) aka Slip Slide Adventures (again!) starring James Mason. Thanx Marphisa.

This movie is probably from the early to mid 80's. I had taped it from satellite back in the 80's, possibly from "It!" movie channel. It started as a live-action movie... all I can remember really is that it started with a boy at what I think was some sort of auction or carnival, I think in England. He was "working" for some crooks and stole some items... and I don't know how it happened, but he ended up underwater and the rest of the movie (except the very end) was animated. It took place underwater (and animated) for the majority of it. I don't know if it was a made for TV movie but I don't think so.

#1285

Result: The Last Unicorn Thanx Jac.

I was a kid in the 1980s. It is an animated movie and it seems there is a love story (I sort of remember a Romeo/Juliet balcony scene.) I think water or an ocean is involved. It's fantasy, and I think maybe they are fairies, and the princess/juliet character has blue hair.

#1284

Result: A Reflection Of Fear (1973) with Sandra Locke, Sally Kellerman and Robert Shaw. Thanx Alli, Marphisa.

1970's color movie on TV -psychological thriller - plot very young girl finds out she really is a boy, parents dressed him in girls clothing for whatever reason. I thought I remember title as reflections in the mirror.

#1282

Result: The Guardian (1990) starring Jenny Seagrove. Thanx Mark, Alli, Marphisa, Charity, Colleen.

I've been looking for a movie I saw 15 years ago. It was about a witch who was disguised as a babysitter to kidnap children & take them to a giant tree which eats children. I remeber a scene where the children's faces were engraved in this tree and their blood came out of their mouthes. When the wicked witch went to a family to take care of their baby, the baby's father knew her intentons & tried to prevent her .

#1281

Result: Konrad (1985) (TV) starring Huckleberry Fox. Thanx Marphisa.

This movie was in the 1980's. Could have been mid-1980's - it was in colour. This was a rented movie - not a tv movie. I believe it was made in the USA. It could have been something in a sci-fi category... All I remmeber is a lot of children who were coming out of these big blue bins (and there was steam - like as if they had been kept frozen or cold). I remember the children sitting in a classroom-type environment but it was more like a warehouse. The colours I remember in this scene were very dull and greyish. I think maybe these children were being adopted into people's homes. In the classroom I think there were some adults trying to teach them certain things.

#1280

Result: The Monster Club (1981) Thanx Mark, AstroTrain, ALNA70.

#1280

Result: Dagon (2001) Thanx runninrabbit.

I saw this film in the early 90s but can't be sure when it was made. All I can remember about this film was a section where a man is trying to escape from a village which is populated by ghoulish looking, sharp toothed human-type creatures. I think the film is a couple of 'short-stories' but I can't remember any of the other parts! Anyway, this man manages to get out of the village (which is very misty!) and flag down a police car which he gets into. They drive off and the police officers turn round to reveal that they are - surprise surprise - two of the ghoulish villagers. And they are driving him back to the village.

#1279

Result: Devil Times Five (1974) starring Leif Garrett and Sorrell Booke (who was Boss Hogg on "Dukes of Hazzard" TV series). Thanx Marphisa, Mark, Stareater.

a movie that I saw at the drive-in in 1975. There was a group of people, maybe 6 or 7 going on a retreat to someones house up in the mountains. I know that the movie had to be a 70's movie because I remember that the car they drove to the house in was a 72 or 73 caddy. They go up a long mountain road to this house. There is a caretaker there. A big strapping guy, but he is very slow in his mind. While the group is there, a large snow storm hits and strands them in there. The road is blocked and the plow won't be there for at least a week. In the mean time, a small school bus, maybe a van type, slides off the road and crashes. The driver is hurt and the 4 or 5 kids on the bus kill him, because they are 'special kids'. They kill for fun. Anyway, the group at the house take them in and one by one, the kids kill them off in odd bazzare ways. I remember one kid pouring out a fish bowl full of perana fish into the bath tub while one of the female members of the group was taking a bath. They eventually kill them all off and in the last scene, you can hear the plow truck coming up the street and the kids grin at each other because they know that the driver will be the next victim.

#1278

Result: Still Of The Night with Meryl Streep Thanx hchamberlin. Nov 15, 2006

I watched this movie as a child in the early-mid 80's. The movie could have been from the 70s or 80s. It also could have been made for TV or on HBO. I distinctly remember a young girls tearing a button eye off of a teddy bear and the teddy bear's eye starts bleeding. I also remember a part where a guy walks under a bridge at night and is either mugged or murdered under it because he never emerges. I have a feeling that the movie was either in the horror and/or suspense genre.

#1277

Result: Slaughter High (1986) Thanx ALNA70.

I know the movie I'm looking for is American, in color, and made sometime in the 1980's. I dont know any names of any characters or actors. I saw it as a kid, it was a rented movie, so I dont know if it came out in the theaters. The movie is about a bullied nerd in high school. At the first of the movie his face is severly burned by the bullies with some chemicals in the science lab. The kid doesnt die and I think the school is closed down after this happens. Years later for some reason the bullies return, I think because he has somehow brought them back together. As the night goes on he stays hidden and gets revenge on them one by one.

#1276

Result: Devil Girl From Mars (1954) Thanx ALNA70.

Result: When A Stranger Calls Back (1993) (TV) starring Carol Kane, Charles Durning & Jill Shoelen. Thanx Stareater, Marphisa, runninrabbit, Alli.

In the movie it starts out with a girl who is babysitting a boy and a girl. While she is babysitting she gets some calls from a guy, who keeps telling her bad stuff that she doesn't like. The guy keeps calling her, so she decides to tell call 911 to have them track the number. They call her back and tell her that she needs to get out of the house because the calls are coming from inside. The cops come and the kids are gone. The killer turns the boy into a puppet. Then he hides in walls and starts killing people. Thats all that I remember I saw the movie back in the 90's.

#1274

Result: And Now The Screaming Starts! (1973) (again!) starring Peter Cushing & Herbert Lom. Thanx Stareater.

The film I am trying to name was probably produced in the 1970s. I have seen it on television twice in the course of the last twenty years. It was set in a feudal society. A peasant with a large birthmark on his face married a beautiful young woman, and the local lord claimed prima nochte. The peasant attempted to prevent him, and was punished by having his hand chopped off, and the Lord went on to rape his wife. The man eventually got vengence (I think after his death) by impregnating the lord's wife. The woman gives birth to a baby with an identical birthmark and only one hand.

#1272

Result: Our Hearts Were Young And Gay (1944) starring Gail Russell as Cornelia Otis Skinner and Diana Lynn as Emily Kimbrough. Thanx Marphisa.

This movie is a black and white movie - I would say it is from the 20's to 30's. It's about two young women - one of whose names starts with a "C" (something like clairabell or something. They in the movie the women are dancers at a nightclub - maybe flappers? Thn they go on a cruise ship -and there is some romanc plots. and then the movie ends with them in a garden maze of some. I saw it in about 1995 Turner Classic movies channel I believe.

#1270

Result: Not Quite Human (1987) Thanx Charity.

I'm looking for a movie about a little boy around the age of 10 or 11. All I remember about the movie is that the boy looked human but intide of his body he had robot parts and the boy did artwork. The boy had a native looking friend that was about the same age. I think the movie was made between 1990 and 1999.

#1269

Result: The Nightmare Before Christmas directed by Henry Selick and written by Tim Burton. Thanx Colleen.

im looking for the title and director of a stop motion film from the early nineties. to describe it here is the stuff i remember: it was stop motion, very dark/macabre. the people in it lived in a castle i think and for some reason i remember it had a very Germanic vibe. the nearest thing i have in my memory that comes close is the music video to the Tool song SOBER. the people in the short film im trying to remember looked like the ones in the sober video. i remember it being on around christmas time for some reason on channel 4 or bbc 2 in the UK as perhaps part of an animation celebration. im not 100% sure. i do remember the characters were very disticnt grotesques with meat cleavers and there might have been some hacking etc. they were very ugly and it was a very dark, but not entirely scary, stop motion animated film.

Horror (1970s) Low budget, where these white blob-like creatures fell from trees onto people eating them.

#1267

Result: The Spirit Is Willing (1967) starring Sid Caesar and Vera Miles. Thanx Marphisa.

Comedy (1960s - 1970s) The movie was loosely based on The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (1947), but this was a comedy, and the tables were turned. A teenage boy moves into a haunted sea side cottage with his parents only to discover there ia a female ghost who likes him. Along with the female ghost there is the ghost of a ship captain.

#1264

Result: Recorded Live It was a student film by S.S. Wilson and is currently available as an extra on the Tremor's 4 DVD. Thanx changeable65.

I'm looking for a short film that aired on HBO in the 80's. Back when they showed short films between movies like "Hardware Wars" and "Closet Cases of the Nerd Kind". It was about film or tape comming to life and in the end it eating a guy.I believe the guy was editing the tape or film. Reminds me of the blob only with film.

#1261

Result: Escape From The Dark (1976) aka The Littlest Horse Thieves Thanx Mini Me, Marphisa.

I am searching for the name of a film from the early sixties I think, It is the story of a pit being closed down and it was decided the pit ponies would have to die down in the pit as they could not be brought to the surface, but all the children from the area get together and save them all except for one who dies, but all the other ponies are rescued. I am certain it was a British film.

#1260

Result: Dirkie (1969) aka Lost in the Desert directed by Jamie Uys. It's in color. Thanx Marphisa, kyacarver.

I am looking for a film that I saw when I was a child (about 20 years ago)on TV in Australia during our summer holidays around Christmas. The plot from what I remember is--- A small boy gets lost in the desert with his small silky terrier type dog and it is a story of how he becomes eventually found. During the course of the film his dog dies and he gets found just when he had lost hope, it is a black & white film and the boy couldn't have been more than 12 years old or so. The end credits show vehicles driving over sand dunes in the desert. I think this must have been filmed in Africa somewhere, quite sure it was an American film though. Good luck is all I can say.

#1259

Result: The Water Babies (1978) aka Slip Slide Adventures (again!) starring James Mason. Thanx Marphisa, Alli, Jay, John.

I last saw this film on US TV in the mid 80's. What I remember about the film is a young boy is pressured by a crook to crawl through a window and rob a house. I believe the boy and the crook are British. The boy is supposed to open the door for the crook after he is inside. But instead the boy runs out the back and jumps in a river/pond and the films then becomes animated. Then all the sea creatures try to help this boy with someting??? The rest of the film is animated until the end when it turns back to film.

#1258

Result: The Witching Of Ben Wagner (1987) (TV) Thanx Marphisa.

I saw this movie sometime between 1985-1990 on the Disney Channel - it was one of those that was on every other afternoon or so. In it, a family moves to a new town and the daughter has some trouble adjusting to the new location, and she begins to visit this nearby lake after school each day and watching this lady that lives by it who she supposes is a witch of some sort. To get there, she has to cross over a creek by way of a log (high in the air) each time, and at some point she falls off and, I believe, the lady rescues her. There might also be a subplot about her father developing real estate condos by the lake, but that might be another movie. I feel like it took place somewhere in the Pacific Northwest.

#1257

Result: Brief Encounter (1945) directed by David Lean. Thanx Marphisa, John.

This was a movie from the 40's or 50's, it may have been a British film, it was about this married woman whose husband no longer paid any attention to her. She met this man at a train/bus station or a cafe one evening. They would always meet at this place, and they fell in love, but they both knew she was married, so there was nothing they could do. Then one evening she decided to go with him to his room, but they didn't do anything untoward. In the end she went back to her husband. The couple were so in love, one of those what might have been movies.

Result: Fluke (1995) starring Matthew Modine and Eric Stolz. Thanx Marphisa, Alli, kyacarver.

I saw like the last 40 minutes of this film back on July 23, 2000. It was on local TV in New Jersey, Candem. It was apparently about this guy who got in a heated argument over his co-worker about working late. It ended with one of them smashing a snow globe. Later (NIGHT SCENE), one of them found the other one on the road and wanted him to pull over so they could have a talk, but instead he ignored him. Both drivers sped up, as the one kept trying to catch up. Eventually one of them fell off the road and died. But he got reincarnated into a dog. So the dog went to live with his ex-family. One day when the co-worker came over the dog attacked him. Later the co-worker gets in an accident while the son (of the family) gets locked in a cemetary, who was by his father's grave. To make matters worse, it starts snowing very hard. The dog manages to save both, and then shows the mom that he used to be the father.

#1253

In the early to mid 80's. The first is about a boy and girl that meet in high school, I think in the library, they begin a relationship only to find out that his mother had killed her sister in a drunk driving accident. Result: Dark Angel: The Ascent (1994) with Angela Featherstone. Thanx Alli.

I saw this movie on TV (in color) in the US in the early 90's. It was probably made between 82 and 92. It was about a female demon with big feet that comes up from Hell to punish sinners. I think she falls in love with a doctor and towards the end of the movie she kills a senator or similar and is injured in the process and has to go back to Hell to be heald. There is a mirror in the doctors bedroom that has a raging fire in it. When the female demon makes love to the doctor i think her wings stretch out.

Result: The Horror Of Party Beach (1964) directed by Del Tenney and starring John Scott. Thanx Stareater, ALNA70.

What I know about it is I saw it when I was young (1962 +) in a drive in at Barre, VT. Scientist entyed barrel of toxic waste into the sea, and it formed rock creatures. I think it's an early 70s movie. A bunch of people arrive at this hotel in the middle of nowhere, maybe on an island. Nobody can remember why or how they are there. Turns out they are all dead and in limbo or hell.

#1247

Result: And Now The Screaming Starts! (1973) starring Peter Cushing and Herbert Lom. Thanx Stareater, Mark.

I saw this film on the tv a year or so ago, but it was DEFINATELY a repeat. the film was very very old. The main thing about this film is a hand, when ever you see this hand a very classic "bing bing bing " noise comes on [ meant to be eerie, creepy, "frightening" ]other memories of this is a hallway, the top floor, there are alot of pictures around, an old ghost man comes out of one of these. also when ever the woman looks in to the picture the hand comes out of it. near towards the end she falls down the stairs, she was running away from the ghost man. Other odd pieces of information, something to do with an old fashioned drawing room, VERY near the end. I think the woman was mad/going mad.

#1246

Result: Curse Of The Living Corpse (1964) Thanx ALNA70.

In the late 60's or at the latest 1970 I saw a black and white movie on the television, where the villian dies at the end in quicksand. I seem to remember in the final frame you see his hat on top of the quicksand. I cannot remember the name of the movie and when I mention it to people they seem to remember it but no one remembers the title. Several people get killed in the movie - one in a fire another by sword after a horseback chase. There also was a scene in a crypt.

#1245

Result: Massacre At Central High (1976) (again!) starring Andrew Stevens and Derrel Maury. Thanx Stareater, Mark, ALNA70, Marphisa, Alli.

I saw this in the late seventies/early eighties. Either high school or college setting. Student gets fed up with being picked on and decides to get revenge on his tormentors. There are two death scenes that stick out in my mind. A guy jumps into an empty pool, and another flies his hangglider into some electric wires and fries himself.

#1244

Result: Radioactive Dreams (1985) starring John Stockwell, Michael Dudikoff, and George Kennedy. Thanx Stareater.

I saw this movie in the early eighties on televison (the old Saturday morning horror show). I remember a father and son living together, and the father was obsessed with their bomb shelter. I thought the father was played by George Kennedy, but I can't be 100% sure. The son was in his late teens. The main scene that I remember is the son in the bomb shelter and his father, who has turned into some kind of monster, trying to talk the son into letting him in.

#1243

Result: Dogs (1976) aka Slaughter Info link. Thanx Stareater, ALNA70, Marphisa.

(I have looked in most of the usual places - me)I know the name of the movie that I saw but I can't seem to find it anywhere on the net. I was young when I saw it with my mom and my sisters. The name of the movie is Dogs from the 70's. I don't know who made it or what year it was out. I know it was remade but I want to find the original so I can purchase it. Could you help me find out more information. I know a woman is driving a car and hits a doberman. The doberman has puppies and they grow to adulthood in a very short period of time. I also remember at the end, the dogs chase the college kids into the library and slaughter all the students, there are bodies everywhere. I just need a little more information than I have.

#1241

Result: Hunk (1987) (sort of the original BeDazzled) Thanx Jeremy.

i saw a film about a devil character, or perhaps a lesser demon, but a woman in any case. she was of course extremely attractive and somehow becomes involved with a college student, either tempting or helping him to tempt others. it was an adult comedy, somewhere between porky's and meatballs, probably filmed in the 80's.

#1237

Result: Wetherby (1985) starring Vanessa Redgrave. Thanx Marphisa.

This movie came out around 1984, I believe. It begins with a dinner party hosted by a woman. She does not recognize one of her guests, a man she assumes arrived with one of the other guests but who in fact had crashed the party. The following day he drops by unannounced and she invites him in for a cup of tea or something. He is seated at the kitchen table, she turns away for a moment, and when she looks back she sees that he has placed a gun in his mouth. He promptly pulls the trigger and dies. The rest of the movie is about her efforts to figure out why this happened.

this movie was made in the 80s or 90s and was in color, in English it's about a a bunch of orphans or young children who live in this home/orphanage. the man in charge is a painter and has one particular young boy staying in the home. this boy has magical growing hair which is used by the painter to make magic paint brushes. then he paints these pictures that traps these children in them. the children can move around in the picture and plead to be set free. eventually the boy tries to cut his hair but it continues to grow and grow. i think he tries to save the trapped children from the paintings. i think a spell is put on the boy to make his hair grow so much. at one point he goes to sleep on the top of a bunkbed and in the night his hair grows, grows so fast u can watch it grow.

Result: Against A Crooked Sky Thanx hmarx20.

The movie was in color and it had to have been on regular TV. I imagine it was mid-to-late 70's to early 80's. The movie was about a white boy and indian girl who fall in love. The indian girl was the daughter of the chief. In the end of the movie the chief has the white boy captured and was going to kill him by covering him with a blanket and having him go off a cliff. The Indian chiefs daughter took the white boys place and went off the cliff in his stead. The movie had the song Dust In The Wind by Kansas in it.

I am looking for the title of a film or TV show that I saw on the TV between the years of 1970 - 1975. But the film could have been made whenever. It must have been shown on a detroit TV station. It was a black and white film/show and It had I believe some villans or ciminals who hold up a drugstore/soda fountain/diner and make the owner go into a corner and make his wife strip and play tic tac toe with her lipstick all over her body.

Result: Taarzan:the Wonder Car Thanx Alli.

Bachchan must be a policeman, I think. He has a car that acts up when there are criminals around. Bachchan meets a beautiful pregnant woman one day and the car makes its usual noise in the presence of a criminal. Bachchan is mystified and soon finds out the woman was pretending to be pregnant and she was actually carrying drugs/liquor/some kind of forbidden substances in a pouch around her belly. Bachchan is angry but I think eventually forgives her and they end up together. here's another scene with a man threatening Bachchan's girlfriend (a former boss/drug lord, I assume) and then trying to rape her. More fighting in the movie but the ending is less then fuzzy for me-

Result: Baadsheh (1999) Thanx Alli.

The movie is about three brothers--one of them considerably older than the other two. The older brother gets married and his new wife doesn't like the younger brothers. She treats them harshly and they run away and fend for themselves. Then we see them all grown-up (here's where Amitabh Bachchan steps in). Amitabh Bacchan's younger brother gets married, or engaged (I think the character is a movie star, but I'm not sure). His father-in-law is brutally murdered by his own brother. Bachchan arrives at the scene of the murder (can't remember why) to find the dying man, who tells him that his (the dying man's) brother was the murderer. But the police arrests Bachchan because they don't believe him. I think he's really poor in the movie, has a low social status, having worked his entire life until then so that his younger brother could have a good life. Then we see him in jail, facing his lawyer, who turns out to be his older brother--the one who gets married at the beginning of the movie. There's a trial and the lawyer/older brother manages to prove Bachchan's innocence. A photograph of the murderer's watch is shown--the watch had stopped at the time of the murder. The murderer then takes the lawyer as a hostage and flees the courtroom. The last scene is of Bachchan chasing the murderer, fighting him, and winning. His visibly aged sister-in-law asks for forgiveness. The end.

Result: Nightmare At 20,000 Feet (1983) Twilight Zone or the same story in the movie version in Thanx runninrabbit.

I'm looking for the name of horror/thriller that is very likely rom the 80's. The problem is I remember very little about the film; except the ending. A main character who has survived the ordeal is loaded into the waiting ambulance for transport. The driver then turns to the camera and of course it's the "killer". Of note in my mind is the fact that the "killer" is apparently wearing some sort of kabuki style mask

Result: A Simple Plan (1998) starring Billy Bob Thornton and Bill Paxton. Thanx Mark, Stareater.

This film came out about the same time as Fargo. I saw it on DVD and in color. It is about two brothers, one mentally challenged. It takes place in a cold climate, snow and by a lake, I believe. The mentally challenged brother kills a person, and the normal brother tries to help him cover it up, but they get caught and end up killing more people. Then I think the normal brother ends up killing the mentally challenged brother, or something to that effect.

Result: Burnt Offerings (again!!!!!)(1976) with Karen Black and Oliver Reed. Thanx Alli, Mark, Stareater, Lanitra.

This movie must have been on tv (I think) around the late 70's, early 80's. It is about a family who move into or go on vacation to a brick house in the country. At some point in the movie, there is a "chauffeur" type character who is really creepy, wears a hat and has a white or some kind of ghostly face. There is a woman (perhaps the mother character) who sits in a room and stares out the window. Near the end of the movie the family tries to escape but the mother goes back in ( I think) and goes back to that room (she forgot something or someone?) while part of the house crumbles below. The family sees the "mom" sitting in the room looking out of the window and realize the "house" has taken her. Hopefully these memories are all from the same movie.

Result: Night Of The Demons (again!!!!!) (1988) Thanx Alli, Mark, Lanitra.

I saw this movie in the 80's. I think my sister rented it. I think it takes place on Halloween. The main characters are all wearing costumes. They go into this big, supposedly haunted house to have a party and one of the girls (I think her name was Angela) gets possesed. It kinda looked like a dragon flying through a mirror. One of the girls sticks a tube of lipstick into her nipple. In the end a mean old man eats a piece of apple pie his wife made with apples he had stuck razors in to give to kids and his throat gets slit.

Result: Suspiria (The US trailer (or at least TV ad) for SUSPIRIA was almost exactly as you describe; this was footage shot for the trailer, not featured in the film itself. - Mark) Thanx Mark.

I saw a clip of this movie on a top 50 scariest movies-type show (it was like number 8). It showed a womans head from behind, and she was talking, but you couldn't see her face. After she finished talking, she turned her head around, and instead of a normal face it was a skeleton. It looked like a 70's type film, and I thought it was Suspiria, but I just watched it and it wasn't.

Result: Desperate Voyage (1980) (TV) starring Christopher Plummer. Thanx Marphisa.

I am looking for a movie that was shown in the 80's that had two couples that essentialy went on a boat trip together. Once they were out to sea two modern day pirates jumped aboard their ship pretending their ship was damaged. The (two guys) then killed the first couple and kept the other couple hostage until the couple finally fought back after days of being tortured and killed the two hostage takers.

Result: The Member Of The Wedding (1952) The boy was actually a tomboy named Frankie. Thanx RomanyX.

Film aired on tv in the mid 70's one of those "afternoon movie" slots. It was a black and white film probably 1930's or early 40's. The film centered around an older black woman that had a glass eye and she was either raising a young white boy or she was a neighbor, either way she seemed to give him lots of advise. I think the boy was some what of a "Tom Sawyer" type kid. I seem to think that the boy was played by Jackie Cooper.

Result: The Clonus Horror (1979) Thanx Alli, Mark, RomanyX.

This movie was brought back into my memory by the recent previews for The Island. I remember seeing, on TV in the 80's, an old (60's or maybe older) movie in which people were grown or bred in a complex. They had numbers instead of names. Eventually one man and one woman try to escape and discover physical attraction (I think they kiss), emotions, etc. I remember them running through tunnels or air ducts, and the movie is old enough that the woman needed significant help in escaping (she couldn't run as fast or as far, got tired, the usual for these old movies). It may have been in black and white, but I am not sure.

Result: The Flight Of Dragons Thanx Nicky.

i am trying to find the title of a film that i saw probably in the early nineties so it was either made then or in the eighties. It was in colour and was an animated tale about a boy and a chess board with dragon pieces on it and through this chess board he is transported into a land of dragons where some good v evil battle is going on or something like that. thats about all i can remember about it it may have been part animated part live action and i believe the boy finds this chess board in a shop run by an old man but maybe not.

Result: Big Bang Thanx Nicole.

I saw the film on VHS tape and it was an animated adult themed cartoon. Possibly late 70s but more likely 80s cartoon film. Main story-line involved the whole of the world divided into two main countries - one where all women live and one where all the men live. The main character the super hero has a screw in bulb where his private parts should be and it flashes whenever the male general or someone communicates with him. He meets a woman and obviously falls in love - story about their romance, bit of a rip-take on romeo and juliet I think but two very distinct memories are:- the leader of the male country is a short bloke and his body is made of a skin like substance but under it is either a bone or phalic object (I can't remember) and the leader of the woman's country has multiple breasts - looks a bit like a raspberry.

Result: Welcome To Woop Woop (again!)(1997) with Jonathon Schaech. Thanx Alli.

Australian film probably by an Australian director. Saw on TV in Australia (I think) in the 90s, film looked possibly late 80s. Story-line about a scavenging race of people that were in the middle of the Australian outback - similar idea to Mad Max but there is a "legend" in the film about a giant kangaroo. Final sequence this massive kangaroo jumps on the bad guy, not a brilliant film but outrageous and hence funny in places and I was wondering if you could shed any light on the name of it.....I think it might possibly have the words "Red" or "Big Red Kangaroo" in it, something along those lines.

Result: Little Heroes (1992) (TV) Thanx Marphisa.

Fuzzbucket is not the movie I am looking for, it has real people in it not critters and just the dogs name was fuzzbucket. - posterThe movie is about a poor little girl who lives on a farm with her father and mother. She had a neighbor on the farm who was also nice to her and her parents. All of the children at her school treats her badly so her only friend is her dog named fuzzbucket. A little girl from her school was having a party and so the poor girls mother saved up all of her money to buy material to make a dress for her to go. When the little girl got to the party she was isolated and no one even played with her. The girls mother who was having the party invited all of the children in for snacks and drinks and when the poor girl was going inside the mother told her not to come in and said if she was thirsty to drink from the hose on the outside. One day the man who was the little girls neighbor put down poison to kill of some foxes or some animals that were coming on the farm the little girls dog ate it and died. The girl went all around looking for her dog only to find out that her only friend h! ad died. In the end I think the girls father and the neighbor combined farms and ended up making a lot of money. Thats all I could remember! I think it came out around 1991 or so. I watched the same time I watched "Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken".

Result: The Legacy aka The Legacy of Maggie Walsh (again!!!)(1978) starring Katherine Ross & Sam Elliott. Thanx Stareater, ALNA70, Marphisa.

I saw this horror movie many years ago, probably sometime in the early 80's. It took place in a mansion and involved a really old man (who was the antagonist) who was in a coma or confined to a bed or something, and he was behind some kind of sheet or drape most of the movie if I recall correctly and he had a gold ring that was of some significance. There were people at the mansion (or maybe just a big house) for some reason and they basically started getting picked off one by one. One memorable death scene was when one of them who was an avid swimmer was using the pool and the sheet of glass pool cover extended over the pool, trapping her underwater.

Result: Child's Play (again!!!)(1985)(TV) from Hammer House of Mystery with Mary Crosby. (see #25 and #387) Thanx Alli, Marphisa.

This is a 60's or 70's film. It involves a family, mom, dad and the daughter. Starts off fairly normal but things happen such as the daughter realising that she cannot remember anything from her earlier childhood. There is also a brown blob in the kitchen or somewhere. Anyway the upshot of the film is that they are all dolls in a dolls house set in the future. The film ends with a young girl peering in. The blob happens to be a chocolate bar that is melting. Saw it on TV, sure it was colour, but it was old so may have been on at the cinema at some point.

Result: Suspect Zero (2004) Thanx ALNA70.

The first person killed is large man who has glasses. He leaves a diner in the rain and enters his car. He begins driving and then he hears a voice from the back seat and the man in the back kills him. There's something to do with detectives trying to pin point the killer just by using pictures of the victims. They concentrate really hard to try to figure out where the killer is. It is a relatively recent movie (within the past 3 years). In the end there is a large 18 wheeler with the killer and a victim (a child) inside the truck. The detectives are desperately trying to find the 18 wheeler. In the end there is like a desert and the cop has a gun to the killers head and the killer wants to die. There is also a chest in the movie in an attic. THe chest gives the detective a clue.

Result: The Navigator: A Mediaeval Odyssey (again!!!)(1988) (see #1121) Thanx Marphisa.

Saw in NY movie theatres 1989 or 1990. It was a sci-fi, or heavily symbolic (of what I am not sure!) fantasy film, maybe by British or Aussie filmmaker. Surreal, in color but with mostly neutral tones; set first in deep winter in medieval Cumbria (or was it Wales or "Cumberland"), showinglives of miserable, starving, freezing peasants, who were portrayed as the normal folks of the time. They had some dilemma about replacing or getting a church bell that had profound meaning for them. A solution is suggested by a inspired young boy who somehow decides that they must dig a huge tunnel right through the earth. They do this after someconflicts and end up in...of course...modern-day Sydney Australia. They are overwhelmed by all we consider mundane; especially the traffic- one guy in warrior garb runs out onto the highway and bravely attacks a car with his spear (they think the cars are some kind of animal). They are shocked that the church spire (of a church they spot in the urbanscape) is not the tallest building there.. some insightful and funny moments in this part. Then there are parts that seem to make even less lgoical sense-there is one scene where a horse is in a rowboat and travels across a misty lake.

Result: Scissors starring Sharon Stone and Ronny Cox. Thanx kyacarver.

I saw this movie on HBO or an alternate station one night about 3 years ago, in 2002 probably. This movie seemed like it's from the 70's but I'm really not sure. I don't know way too much about it but this film had me so interested as to what would happen. There was a woman trapped inside a single room I believe. From there I only remember possibilities of what the movie was about, I started watching it in the middle and so I'm really not sure if it's even the movie I am hoping it was. For some reason I think there was a man involved, who was going to kill her, or just make her die inside this room, because there was no way out. I think it had to do with psychadelics or the woman was hallucinating, which made it worse or something. The room was kind of trippy, and I think she was looking for a way out for almost the entire movie. I don't remember any other character, and I don't recall her ever leaving the room, or the camera switching to anything outside of the room (maybe 2 rooms or what not)

Result: Profundo Carmesí (1996) directed by Arturo Ripstein (see also The Honeymoon Killers (1970)) Thanx Marphisa.

I have been searching for the title of this English-subtitled, spanish-language film that was shown in the early 90's on Cinemax and I believe,as part of their "Avant-Garde" series. It is about a fat, homely woman who husband leaves her and her daughter and they become acquainted with a con man who is ultra-ensitive about his advancing baldness. They porteay brother and sister and set off on a series to rob people. They come upon a widow who owns a sort of country side auto repair shop and the con man eventually has a relationship with her. She laughs whwn she finds out he is wearing a toupee and he drowns her in a barrel of oil. The "sister" apparently finds her daughter to be excess baggage and drowns her in a bathtub. In the end, both man and woman are executed by gunfire for their crimes. I don't know what year it was made but seemed to be an 80's film.

Result: Tommy Tricker And The Stamp Traveller (1988) and there is a sequel The Return of Tommy Tricker (1994). (see also #531) Thanx Alli, Marphisa.

I am looking for a movie from the early to mid 1980's that I saw on television.(in color) I believe it was more of a children's film. It was about a magical letter(or possibly just the stamp) that traveled the world. I think the premise of the movie was that a boy would travel on this letter by shrinking and becoming part of the postage stamp. Things kept hapening to the letter, like it would be dropped or the wind would take it.
