Result: The Unnamable (1988) (see also #315). H.P. Lovecraft Thanx Alli.

I am looking for a horror movie that was made in the early 80's (in color). It had something to do with a huge old house that had a freak living in the basement, the house was empty. It was very similiar to the movie "Hell Night" with Linda Blair. The one character I do remember was a young brainy guy that wore glasses and was always in a library or reading. That character also said a line that stuck in my head after all these years. It went something like" if a person was to stair through a window long enough, the window would absorb the persons reflection". I also want to say the movie started with "un?" I already checked the uninvited but that was not it.

Result: The Shuttered Room (1967) Thanx ALNA70.

The film was in color (lots of earth tones). It had to be in the 70's. I thought Stacy Keach was in it but was not able to find any reference connecting to his name. It was set in a French?/Country-like home. I believe there was a doll house in it. There were twin sisters in it. One of the twins was a mentally ill, savage-like, frizzy-haired girl that lived in the attic. At the end I believe the evil twin came down from the hatch, snatched the man up and killed him?

#1194

Result: Deadly Deception (1987) (TV) starring Matt Salinger. Thanx Marphisa.

I am looking for the title of a movie from the 80's. I am not sure of the actors names, but it was about a couple who have just had a baby, and while her husband is at work, she gets a call saying she has won free baby supplies for a year, and is told to meet the person on the other end at another location, long story short....she is missing as is her baby, and her husband uncovers a plot to take the baby by his mother,he has the help of a young woman who helps him figure it out,and at the end, goes to the mother's house where his baby is. The mother was someone like Dina Merril, or one of those actresses from years ago, the husband was a nice looking man with brown hair, the wife reminded me of Dianah Manoff, but I do not think it was her

Result: On Borrowed Time (1939) starring Lionel Barrymore. Thanx Marphisa, vllyby.

I am looking for the name of the old b&w film which had the devil trapped up an apple tree or a tree of some kind. I think it would be a 30's or 40"s film. I think it had to do with Christmas. Saw it on TV 30 years ago, around late 60's.

#1192

Result: Roadhouse with Patrick Swayze. Thanx Alli.

I saw this movie around 1995/6, it had these two guys fighting, and one of the guys punched the other one in the chest and took his heart out! I'm pretty sure it was a kung-fu movie. It was in color, and the fight took place during the nightime

#1191

Result: Frailty (2001) Starring Matthew McConaughey Bill Paxton. Directed by Bill Paxton. Thanx Jeremy, Alli, Marphisa, ALNA70, Mark.

I saw this movie a year or two ago on VHS and now cannot find it!! It involved two brothers and their father. When the boys were young, their father made them go with him to murder people when he heard the "voices" telling him to (I think he said it was God telling to kill these random people). Anyway, one of the brothers narrates the movie as a man and you think the whole movie that one brother turns his brother in for carrying on the family tradition of killing people. But that good brother is the real murderer. I know the movie starts with the brother going to the authorities and telling them the whole story.

#1189

Result: The Way Of All Flesh (1940) starring Akim Tamiroff. Thanx Marphisa.

the film was on tv, black and white, seen on tv in early 60s, the film was about a banker who was mugged going to the office and suffered anmesia and he then become a hobo

#1188

Result: The Sadist (1963) with Arch Hall, Jr. Thanx Alli.

I saw this movie on TV in 1973 or 74...pretty sure it was low budget, had a "Billy Jack" feel to it, but the details are very hazy in my mind. A girl (probably in her early twenties) was being terrorized by this guy (dark hair, kind of looked like an "evil" Jethro from Beverly Hillbillies). In her attempt to escape she takes the pump at the gas station and sprays him in the face and eyes. The psycho keeps coming after her, but she eventually hits him with a shovel or something and knocks him into a pit of rattle snakes.

#1187

Result: Savage Harvest (1981) starring Tom Skerritt and Michelle Phillips. Thanx Marphisa.

I think this was probably filmed late seventies/early eighties, color, drama/suspense (maybe horror?). I know that the time period it aired on cable was around 1983/84-ish, when HBO would rerun the same movie evey 4 hours for one or two months at a time; however, movies took several years to go from big screen to tv then, so it had to have been filmed earlier than the mid 80's. I have a feeling it aired on HBO somewhere in the 1980-1986 range mostly bc I KNOW i was waaaay too young (I'm 31 now) to be watching that and Stripes, which also aired at about the same rate of 6x/day, but maybe different years...?) The thing I remember most was that there was a white family, with a black housemaid, living in a (very westernized?)house in Africa. I distinctly remember there was a big plot about lions coming into the area and becoming a hazard. There was a scene where lions started to surround the house, and the family began panicking- they couldn't go outside and were basically held hostage in the inside. The housemaid went out (I remember she had a scarf on her head?) and was violently killed by a lion (i think the lion was coming out of a tree???) while the family watched in horror from the big windows of the home. I don't know WHY that violent scene is all I remember from the plot, but it has stuck in my mind for about 20 years (I just need to add that I did turn out a normal, non-violent adult, for the record). I don't know who was in it, but I think there was a young daughter and son (both pre-teen), along with the parents and maid.

#1186

Result: The Hidden Room (1949) aka Obsession starring Robert Newton. Thanx Marphisa.

This was a black and white British movie, made in the 1940s or 1950s, seen on TV in the 1990s, I believe. The movie tells the story of an affair between a married woman and a single man. The woman's husband finds out about the affair and imprisons the man, chaining him, in an apartment, warehouse or somewhere underground. He either finally escapes or is found safe.

Result: Death Wish 3 Thanx brettfavre4fan.

I saw a movie in the mid 80's about an insurance salesman who was with a client who lived in the projects in the Bronx, NY. His meeting ran late and he was trapped in the building, trying to survive the gang that came out at night. I believe the gang name started with a "V". One of the tenants was a man in a wheelchair and his door was made of steel.

Result: The Gods Must Be Crazy Thanx arielle, suzq84.

This color movie was made somewhere between the mid sixties and the mid seventies judging by the bacground scenery. It was filmed in Africa. I saw it on a cable channel several years ago (2000 or more recent). There are two African kids(brothers) approximate ages 9 and 3 who somehow get seperated from their father and travel across the country in an adventure. The father is in search of them, only running from place to place barefoot wearing only some type of loincloth and carrying a spear. The father seems to be just a little late at arriving at a location where his childrent had recently departed. Some where along the line the boys end up getting caught up and moved with a military convoy. Very little dialog in the film.

Result: Blackout (1985) (TV) starring Richard Widmark and Keith Carradine. Thanx Marphisa.

tv movie - early 80's where man kills his family is involved in a carwreck says he has amnesia. I think his nurse falls in love with him and he starts another family. They move into the house he killed his family in and then he attempts to begin to kill his current family. The police officer who liked the nurse figures it out and he gets killed.

Result: Paperhouse (1988) with Charlotte Burke and Glenne Headly. Thanx Alli, Marphisa.

I saw this film in Videotape. I recall the box cover saying it was "thinking man's horror film" - which is way I got it. It had British Actors, so I thought it was a British film. At any rate the film is about a young child (a girl), she is living with her Mom. The girl is able to "dream" things and then they become true. The problem is that her dreams are nightmares. When she tells her mother that she is able to "make things happen", the mom thinks she is just a making things up. The child however is getting sicker and sicker with each dream. The dreams are indeed kind of like a fairy tale but each time she dreams another thing is added to the nightmare. For example she dreams that she is in a Castle and that there is a kid who comes to help her get out, but then he breaks his leg and then in Real life the kid breaks his leg. At the end of the film you find out that the girl's parents are getting a divorce and that indeed the child is very sick and she has a heart problem

#1178

Result: The Crying Child (1996) (TV) starring Mariel Hemingway. Thanx Marphisa.

in color, that I watched in the mid 90's. It was rented so it may have been made during the eighties. It was about this husband and wife and they move to this house after the wife had a miscarriage. There was some sort of mystery to the house. I think the wife began thinking that she had a child and had a bond with this child where she wouldn't leave him/the house. The husband thought she was going crazy as a result of her miscarriage, but the child ended up being a ghost of a boy who died in the house. I remember that while the husband or wife was exploring the house, he or she found a mysterious door with a red mark on it with some other symbol. At the end of the movie, when his identity is revealed, it takes place in the living room with a fireplace. One big detail I remember is that he had some sort of red mark on him (face maybe?)which made people afraid of him (even his mother), as if he was a devil child. This is why he died so young and why he wanted the wife to be his mother. I'm pretty sure it ended with the couple leaving the house/town on a boat, while holding on to each other, looking back to the place they just left.

Result: Glim-glim 1989 episode of Monsters. F. Paul Wilson, the author of the script, eventually rewrote it with a happy ending & published it as a children's book: "The Christmas Thingy" Thanx RomanyX.

Sometime in the mid to late 80s I saw an episode of a sci fi anthology series like tales from the darkside or twilight zone. I remember two fat green aliens make their way into a house inhabited, I believe, by a father and son. I seem to recall them being trapped in their own house more or less, as they hide out in the basement and spy on the aliens from concealment. Eventually, the father kills the aliens by shooting them, only to see one alien had been holding a "Merry Christmas" sign for the humans. The aliens had been trying to befriend the people.

#1174

Result: Dark Fortress (1991) aka A Nymphoid Barbarian in Dinosaur Hell Thanx Stareater.

I'm looking for this one horror/mystery movie that came out sometime in the early 1990s. I remember very little other than this: 1 - Witch/Sorceress played by a very voluptuous, exotic looking blonde who was slightly cross-eyed. She's actually a pretty good actress and was a siren in many late 80s and early 90s "made for cable/video" movies. She has the coolest looking almost-crossed eyes. 2 - Title may have something to do with Castle or Fortress. Setting is in Europe. 3 - Completely a B movie, but not ridiculous. Tries to be serious... just second rate production.

#1173

Result: Spring Fever USA (1991) Thanx J Star.

I saw this movie back in 1990 on USA Up All Night with Rhonda Shear. Anyway, this guy meets a girl who performed some chessy 80's song on the beach (Go to the Beach, or some crap like that). Anyway, she ( think her name was Heather) tells him they can do it if he can find a bottle of Dom Perignon. He frantically searches for it, and after many hours, he finally gets a bottle. However, the girl is being held hostage now by two goofs, and the guy is knocked out. All of a sudden, this hot as hell evil chick gets the guy in the hot tub, and she says that she will do whatever she wants (feigns grabbing his crotch in the hot tub) if he would tell her where she was (the two goofs let her get away). He didn't know, so they took him, but some chick (we find out later is the sister of the girl he tried to get with) saves him. Anyway, they end up on a trip to Fort Lauderdale to find her, and the only guy that can help him is the "Big Kahuna." Anyway, to finance the trip, at one point the guy enters a belly-flop contest where he jumps off a crane. He wins the money, and eventually, the bad guys catch up to them. Great scene in the film where they are in the limo, and these soaped up chicks start rubbing their tits and ass on the car washing it. Enough of that! Anyway, they find the Big Kahuna eventually, and it's his friend. He finally gets a chance to nail Heather on a boat, but he goes for the sister instead. That is about all I can remember about this film. I could've sworn it was called Spring Break USA, but I cannot find it anywhere.

#1172

Result: Crime Of Innocence (1985) (TV) starring Andy Griffith and Shawnee Smith. Thanx Marphisa.

TV movie that aired probably in about 1990. The story was about a teen girl (approx 16 y/o) and I think she is late for curfew, or at least does something quite minor. The laws in her city have recently been changed and when her parents report her as late the police are on the lookout(perhaps "missing" or a "runaway" is how she is classifed). When she gets picked up, she gets put in jail for what is supposed to be a short term, but the state seems to have all the power. Then, one of the young male jail guards rapes her in the jail. I remember the end of the movie is her and her parents against the court system, telling them that their rules are unjust and the parents should be able to take their daughter home and should have been able to give THEIR consequences, instead of jail time.

#1171

Result: Taste Of Fear (1961) aka Scream of Fear starring Susan Strasberg. Thanx Marphisa, ALNA70.

I saw a movie on TV in the 1970's. It was a classic at that time. The opening scene showed police pulling a body out of a lake or river. The plot of the movie was a young woman (college age) in a wheel chair who goes home to see her father. He seems to have vanished. I remember a pool that is full of moss, a stepmother, and a driver. The young woman suspects foul play has taken place, and I believe the father's body is found in the dirty pool. The location is on the ocean, with cliffs. There is a car out of control. In the end we find the woman is not cripple, she was the friend of the criple girl whose body was pulled from the lake in the begining.

Result: The Earthling (again)(1980) with Ricky Schroder and William Holden. Thanx Alli, Marphisa, Mark.

I remember seeing this movie on TV in the 80's. All I remember is a boy is on a trip driving on a mountain road with his parents, they are pulling a camper and get stuck, they back up and drive over the cliff and the parents are killed, the boy survives and has to live in the woods.

Result: Runaway (1984) Starring Tom Selleck. Thanx ALNA70, RomanyX, Patricia.

it was more like fifteen years ago (late 80's early 90's). it was color, usa, looked like it was made sometime in the 80's. it was an action/sci-fi movie. i do not remember the plot , only two scenes and i am not even sure if they are from the same movie. the first scene is a woman(i think) getting attacked in a bathroom stall(i think) by these weird robotic soider things that have these hypodermic syringes attached to them(crappy stop-motion animation). the other scene may be from a different movie but it is a scene of a woman(i think) who gets shot by the bad guy who has these wicked looking bullets. they are really long and possibly had homing properties to them. for whatever reason they use this experimental robot(this is why i think it is the same movie) surgeon to operate on her.

Result: The Hugga Bunch Movie (again)(1985)(TV) starring Gennie James. Thanx Marphisa.

Sounds like H.R. Puffinstuff - meI saw this movie I believe in the 80-90's. It was in color. It was a children's movie based on some popular character at the time (sort of a doll-like character). The movie had something to do with an evil witch that kept a sort of poison peach tree inside of a big glass cage sort of thing. I remember it being sort of scary to me as a child, but I'm sure it wouldn't be scary to me now. For some reason I remember a big long dark staircase leading to the witch with the peach tree. I rented this movie as a child from the video store, the characters (the good ones) sort of looked like cabbage patch kids.

#1166

Result: Mac And Me Thanx Kyle, Alli, Marphisa, Mark, Starius.

I thought that this movie was E.T., but I just watched it and it didn't have the scene that I was thinking of. It was a similar premise to E.T.- a kid might have found an alien. I remember the alien's family was also there, they were living in a cave or something, and were sick, and they fed the aliens coke, which they drank through straws from a can. There was also a scene where they took the alien to a fast food restaurant. I also remember that the cave might have been close to one of those areas where they have all those windmills to generate power. I think this was an 80s movie.

I could have sworn Bruce Willis was the star, but anyway, its about a man and woman very much in love, she leaves to go visit someone and gets killed before she gets there. the police cant find out what happened, but Bruce(i think) finds this man that can talk to the dead, and this man has been talking to bruces wife, then bruce is able to talk to his wife through a tv, she talks to him and lets him know about other people who are killed and he goes and sees the families of these peple to let them know what happened to their loved ones, anyhow his wife lets him know who his killer is and he goes to meet him in a big run down warehouse, he goes up stairs and finally finds this man(which you cant really make him out) he gets in a fight with bruce and kills him, the police arrive and find bruce at the bottom of the shaft,

Result: When Strangers Appear It had Josh Lucas in it. It's a very good suspense movie for all anyone that likes that genre. Thanx vllyby1 (poster).

The movie starts off with a waitress getting ready to open a diner that is in some unpopulated area near the beach. A surfer who is injured wanders in and tells her a story about 3 or 5 guys that tried to kill him. There was something to do with a vw bug. Also, I do remember the waitress hiding in the bathroom at one point because she thought the surfer was going to kill her.

I saw this movie where this couple I believe they were in the peace corp. and the woman becomes pregnant. She then is believed to die when her car goes over a mountain into some water. The man eventually goes to this remote town in the jungle where the accident happened and finds his child who was saved and taken care of by this tribe. That is how the movie ends.

#1157

Result: Revenge (1990) starring Kevin Costner and Madeleine Stowe. Thanx Marphisa.

I saw this movie on one of the cable movie channels (ie. HBO, Showtime, Cinemax etc.) although I don't know exactly which one. It was approximately the year 1999 -2002). I only saw the end of the movie but from what I remember it was set in Mexico. A man was caught having an affair with the wife of a powerful mexican mob guy. This husband beat the man that had the affair with his wife severely and he also beat his wife. He (the man that had the affair) eventually ends up searching for the woman and he eventually finds her in a house of prostitutes. She was put there by her husband. In the end he finds her picks her up and takes her outside only to have her die in his arms. It is a love story.

#1156

Result: Les Diaboliques (1955) Thanx Alli, RomanyX.

I saw this flick years ago on Chicago tv (early 70's) it was in b & w, I think british. 1950's early 60's Something about a woman in a wheelchair who's husband is supposed to be dead, but is somehow in the swimming pool and is gaslighting her.

to gaslight someone is to drive them crazy by intentionally confusing them. It comes from the 1944 movie Gaslight, in which sweet heiress Ingrid Bergman marries creepy Charles Boyer, who hopes to get her inheritance by driving her insane. He convinces her she's seeing and hearing things that don't exist, including the gaslights (what they had before light bulbs) going on and off when he isn't home.

#1154

Result: The Deacon Street Deer (1986) It was a Wonderful World of Disney movie staring a very young Mario Lopez. Thanx bpnestell.

I remember watching a movie in the early to mid 1980's. It was about a deer/fawn that a group of kids in their early teens found in a big city. They took the deer in; it stayed at one of their houses. In the end they returned it to the country. I remember sobbing at the end because it was so sad. It was on video, in color, and in English.

Result: The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe Thanx Jeremy.

I remember a movie probably from the early 80's. I don't remember much but I do remember that it started off as a regular movie in color, then a little girl goes into a closet or something and the movie turns into an animated movie. I really don't recall any of the story line, except that there was a lot of snow when the movie turned animated.

#1150

Result: Highway To Heaven episode starring Micheal Landon and his friend from Little House on the Prairie, Mr. Edwards. (In Highway to Heaven, Pa and Mr. Edwards now play anglels. The homeless boys' (more of a teenager than a boy) name was Arnie and he had a pet cat. Arnie was a bit "special" and had an odd voice, that's why he freaked out when he heard his voice on tape. I'm not sure when it was made, but I remember it because my brother used to imitate the boys voice saying, "Hi my name's Arnie and this is my cat Thomas.") Thanx Kathleen.

I saw this movie on TV (I think it may have been on the Disney Channel) around the year 1994. The reason I remember the film to this day is because of how sad it was. In the beginning, it shows a small homeless boy and his dog outside on the streets. It is the boy's birthday, and he sticks a candle into what is either a cupcake or a muffin and makes a wish. Next thing he knows, two men are behind him and call themselves angels. A short while after they take him in, the boy comes across a house while playing with his dog and goes into it to find a bedridden boy. The boy is obviously well-off and is playing with a tape recorder. The rich boy records the voice of the homeless boy and after playing it back, the homeless boy becomes horrified and ashamed by the sound of his own voice, and ends up running away. That is all I can remember about the film. It was in color, and is considerably old. (My best guess is that it was filmed in the late 1980s, early nineties.

#1148

Result: The Lunch Date Thanx Jac.

I'm looking for a black and white short movie that I saw in a college course in the mid 80's - I doubt it was new. It took place in a diner-like restaurant - I seem to believe that it was inside of Grand Central Station. It was basically about prejudice and racism. I recall a small older white woman and a large black man. One got up to use the rest room and returned to think the other was sitting at his/her table. One was perturbed - probably the woman. The man was a perfect gentleman in my memory. I think there were no words. I think they ended up sitting together and when one left the other finally realized (probably the woman) that she was wrong. It really pointed out preconceived notions and prejudices.

#1147

Result: A Question Of Fear Episode of Night Gallery. Thanx RomanyX.

I remember a movie in the 70's, black & white, a man had a bet to spend the night in a house that had giant tracks in the cement floor & he was told he was given a drug that would turn him into a giant slug (thus the tracks from the last person) & he kills himself before morning.

Result: Anna To The Infinite Power Thanx Blue.

I saw just one or two scenes of a movie in the mid-80s, I think on the Disney channel. The scene I remember had a girl in a hospital, and as she walked down the hall, she peeked into each room (maybe looking for her own room?), and all the patients had the same name (maybe Sarah?) and looked the same. The girl seemed confused and frightened by this. I don't know if the girl was having a nightmare, or if she was in some alternate universe.

Result: The Relic but a few statements are wrong. It's in a museum, not the white house. The girl did hide in a bin at the end, and there is a senator or a mayor in the movie, but no president. Thanx RPRay.

i saw a color movie several years ago. it was about a monster that was unleashed in the white house and kills several people. one scene i remember was near the climax when he (on all fours and on fire) chased a woman through a hallway and she hid in some sort of bin. i'm not sure, but i think he was a scientist and something happened to him so that's why he turned into a monster. another scene i remember is when he gets ahold of a man and when people are touring a dark hallway his blood drips on them. the last scene i remember is that there's a red-ribbon ceremony and someone important cuts the ribbon into the section where the monster is, but they don't know it at the time.

Result: Alone In The Dark 1982) with Jack Palance and Martin Landau. Thanx ALNA70, RomanyX.

70s or 80s horror film english speaking, saw it on TV. I remember an mentally ill asylum in the country, the inmates cells had no doors but some electric barrier mechanism. The inmates get out at some point because there is a failure at a nearby nuclear facility. When the guard (black person) realizes what has happened he hides in a closet, but one inmate who cann't speak is able to sniff him out and kill him together with the other inmates. The scene I describe is a very small part of the film, the only part I can remember now.

Result: Rawhead Rex (1986) starring David Dukes. Thanx Stareater.

the film was in colour and i saw it about 10 or 11 years ago, but it was clearly a film from the 60's or 70's. from what i remember, there was this ape like creature, i think it was an ape, and it had red eyes. there was a part in the film where it goes to this caravan or something similar to that and it begins to shake and the roof is torn off and the people inside killed in some way or another. there is also a part in it where a car is driving past a large field and the direction of the camera etc lead me to think that the creature was hiding in the bush watching the car and its passangers.

#1141

Result: The Willies (1991) starring Sean Astin. Thanx Marphisa, Mike D, Alli.

it was an 1980's movie... it had about 4 or 5 separate stories in it... some were urban legends sort of... one was about a woman who put her dog in the microwave after giving it a bath, and the dog exploded... another was about a fat kid who got picked on at school, and he made a batch of cookies at home and baked dead flies without wings into them, and at school the next day he gave them to a couple girls at school... I know one of the characters is either Sean Astin or Corey Feldman... another story in the movie is of a monster that is living in the school bathroom... and at the end of the story the monster is one of the kid's dad. Another story in the movie is of a fat woman who goes to a fastfood restaurant and there is a rat in her box of chicken she orders... I remember on the back of the movie it said something like this: "First you'll laugh, then you'll cry, then you'll puke, then you'll die."

Result: The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter (1968) starring Alan Arkin as a deaf-mute, but it's in color. There is a subplot about an African-American doctor and his daughter. Thanx Marphisa.

I recall seeing a movie in the early 80's on TV but it was an oldie maybe 20 years earlier. It was in black-and-white and the story flow was a mute boy seemingly to befriending and listening to the problems and issues of everyone else. The movie moved from scene to scene and I thought one of the subplots/stories contained "James Earl Jones" or maybe "Ossie Davis". It was the ending of the movie that through me but it embedded in my mine for 20+ years later. The mute guy shot himself and thtat was the end....the movie made no sense until that point but it was over.

Result: Once Upon A Forest (1993) Thanx Marphisa.

This childrens animated movie was made in 1980's and is in color. The movie is about mice (or another kind of rodent similer to that) who live in a forest I think and a highway. A big truck tips over and poison gas leaks out and the youngest female mouse gets sick. The other mice go looking for a cure and they build some sort of flying thing. The little mouse does not die. In the begining I think they are coming home fron school. On the cover of the movie it shows the flying thing and the mice. It's not the Secret of Nimh.

Result: The Willies (1991) Thanx RomanyX.

It's color, Some form of capmfire tale type movie...you know where there is more than one story and they are being told by the charactors. Not sure if there really was a campfire haha. One of the stories was about a fun house/haunted house ride in a carnival setting with one man (nerdy guy with glasses) goes through and dies of ...fright I believe. One of the fat guys with a bucher knofe jumps in his rollercoaster type chai with him while on the ride before he dies. Another of the stories is about a young boy ....In grade school or middle school is afraid to go to the bathroom at the school because he thinks there is a monster in it ...for some reason I dont remember ....But he does use the bathroom eventually and there is a monster

Result: From Hell It Came (1957) Thanx Marphisa.

I am looking for a movie that was on TV, Black and White back in the late 50's and/or early 60's. It was a horror flick regarding I believe an Indian tribe of some kind and a man and woman fell in love, but another man wanted her badly, so he tortured and killed this first man and he came back as a tree to seek revenge.

Result: A Long Way Home (1981) (TV) starring Timothy Hutton. Thanx Marphisa.

This was a movie I remember from when i was young so it was the eighties. The plot included two brothers and a sister who i believe were deserted by there parent or parents, and the olsdest boy was fending for them to not be found out that they were living alone, he would steal from gas station bathrooms for the toilet paper and eventually they were found out and seperated. They were reunited as adults. I thought that one of the adult brothers was richard thomas but i cannot find any information on any of his films with this sort of plot

Result: Scissors (1991) starring Sharon Stone. Thanx Marphisa, Mark.

I have seen this and can't remember the title, good flic - meI am searching for a film that I viewed on broadcast TV in the NYC area in the early 90's. The leading lady was a blonde, I believe, who, as a patient of a doctor or psychiatrist was led by him into a situation where she ended up held captive in a large apartment from which there was no escape or other contact with the outside world. Also, in one of the bedrooms was a man who had been murdered. The woman didn't know whether she had done it herself, as she was mentally unstable. In truth, the man was murdered by the people holding the woman captive and under surveillance. They intend to pin his murder on the "crazy" woman, thus their plan. One scene I remember is the woman banging on the glass at the windows of the apartment, as she could see people far below, as she was several floors up, but they couldn't hear her. I also believe she wrote a "help me!" type message on the panes of glass at one point. I do not remember the ending. I searched everything I could on IMDB and google for a total of about 8 hours and read most of the "found" movies on your site. (I only skipped the titles I plan to see in the future so as not to spoil the stories!) I have considered this method before, but I always wound up grinding it out myself. That doesn't seem to be possible this time, so you know I'm desperate on this one. Excuse my long-windedness.

Result: The Other Side Of The Mountain Part II (1978) starring Marilyn Hassett and Timothy Bottoms. Thanx Marphisa.

I saw a color movie in either 1979 or 1980 were a young lady is paralized and uses a wheelchair, she lives on a lake, I can not remember much more of the plot,I know is probably a chick flick, I watched it in a theater in Puerto Rico, I remember reading the Spanish subtitles.

Result: Giant From The Unknown (1958) starring Buddy Baer as Vargas the Giant. He was a conquistador, not a Viking. Thanx ALNA70, Stareater.

I recall seeing a movie on TV in the mid '70s or so about an unearthed giant (maybe a Viking or some Norse figure) pursuing a group of teens / young adults. I can't remember a lot of details about the plot, but I believe the giant (about 8 to 9 feet tall -- not Godzilla size) is killed at the end of the movie by falling off a bridge (an old suspension bridge perhaps) during a fight with one of the characters. I'm guessing the youths somehow disturbed a burial place, but I can't exactly remember how or why the thing came out of the ground. I'm not sure that the giant was a Viking, but I believe he did wield a double-sided ax. The movie could have been made in the '60s for all I know, but I just happened to see it on the tube in the '70s.

#1128

Result: Arnold (1973) starring Stella Stevens and Roddy McDowall. Thanx Marphisa.

Around the early 70's (1973-74)I saw on TV a commercial for a color film that had a creepy mansion and several guests arriving and meeting around a table.I believe it was an inheritence reading. A painting on the wall has eyes that move. One by one they are being killed off! A young couple making love in the shower are crushed to death as the walls move in on them like the trash compactor in "Star Wars". Blood oozes out between the crushed walls! NOT "Murder by Death" (1976).

Result: Graveyard Shift (1973) episode of Ghost Story, It starred John Astin & Patty Duke Astin. Thanx RomanyX.

Early 70's (1970-1974) TV movie, film or TV series (ie;"The Night Gallery" similar to the episode "The Girl with Hungry Eyes"). In color Saw it on TV: A man & a woman are trying to escape from a group of ghosts. Man discovers that the spirits die after he burns the film they are captured on! He takes the film reel outside the theatre and douses it with gasoline! Story may have taken place in a movie theatre. Man looked kind of Dennis Weaver("DUEL") like, with a mustache and glasses possibly.

Result: The Comeback though that was about a solo singer, not a band. Thanx Mark.

I am looking for the name of a horror film about a rock band that rents an old mansion. The old couple who pretend to be the maid and butler wind of killing off some of the band memers and locking the girl friend of the main character up in the bedroom of their dead daughter. She had commited suicide over the rock star so they sought revenge. I am pretty sure it was made in England and it was in the mid to late 70's.

Result: Equinox (1970) Thanx RomanyX.

I saw this movie possibly in the late 70's(or early 80's) on Television. I'm not sure if it was a movie made for TV or not. The only part that sticks out in my mind is the ending. A man is being chased in a cemetery by a winged demon. The guy hides behind a tombstone of a big cross. The demon is destroyed (explodes) when it runs into the cross.

#1123

Result: The Bad Seed (1956) with Patty McCormack & (1985) with Blair Brown, Lynn Redgrave and David Carradine. Thanx Alli, Marphisa, ALNA70.

The original movie is pretty old but it was remade in the 70s or 80s I think. It is about a little girl killer and ends with her standing on a dock. She has some kind of wild hair pigtails I think.

#1122

Result: Operation Daybreak (1975) Thanx Marphisa.

This film was on UK television between 1978 and 1982. It is a war film set during world war two, the plot involves resistance fighters / allied soldiers fighting the germans behind the lines in france or belgium. One of the last scenes is set in the crypt of a church. With the two main characters trapped by the germans who decide to flood them out. As the water rises they realise there is no escape and simultaneously shoot each other in the head in a desparate suicide pact. Also had a very emotional and avocative electronic music score.

Result: The Quest aka Frog Dreaming (again!)(1986) with Henry Thomas. Thanx ForceFed, Alli, Marphisa, ALNA70.

Back when I was in school the teacher showed us a movie. I'm guessing it was around 1970-1980. All I can remember is that the plot was about some kids that believe a monster lives in a lake and how frightened they were of it. At some point (lake drained?) they discover that it was only a backhoe or some other type of construction equipment that was submerged. This was shown to us on VHS tape so I'm not sure if it was a TV movie or not.

Result: Anna To The Infinite Power (1983) starring Martha Byrne. Thanx Marphisa.

kicking myself for forgetting this one - meThis was a movie that I saw in the early 80's. I think that it might have been made for tv. It was about a family with a young daughter who was a pianist. She finds out that she is a clone. She also meets an older woman who is also a clone of the same person. There was also something in it about music boxes.

Result: Warning Sign (1985) Thanx RomanyX.

I saw this movie on satellite in the 80's. It was in color. A woman worked at some top secret lab, maybe as a security guard. Her husband was a cop who had polio as a kid and had a limp. There is an accident in the lab, and some virus is released. The husband then tries to help his wife who is in the lab even though he is extremely afraid of viruses.

#1117

Result: Lili (1953) starring Leslie Caron and Mel Ferrer. Thanx Marphisa, Patricia.

I saw this movie in the early 1990s during a Saturday afternoon on a UHF station in North Texas. The film looks like it was made in the 1950s-1960s and is in color. I missed the very beginning, so I may have missed some key motivators in the plot. The story is set in France; however, everyone in the movie speaks English (with a French accent if they're French and most of them are). A simple, rural girl, for whatever reason, goes to the city and gets a job in a shop (I think it was a ladies boutique of some sort). Two men walk in; both work for the circus. One is a womanizing magician who is shopping for a lady friend of his, the other is a brooding American veteran with a bad leg who has become a puppeteer. The girl becomes infatuated with the flirty magician, leaves her job and follows him to the circus where she becomes a waitress and is soon fired due to her infatuation. She tries to commit suicide by jumping off a tall scaffold/ladder set up for who knows what but is stopped by the puppeteer who talks her out of it through his puppets. The girl, for whatever reason, believes the puppets are real. She ends up becoming part of the puppeteer's act, still believing the puppets are real. The puppeteer is entranced by her innocence and the rest of the movie focuses on the girl's growing disillusionment (both with magician and the puppets) and the growing love of the American puppeteer for the girl.

Result: Always Remember I Love You (1990) (TV) starring Patty Duke and Stephen Dorff. Thanx Marphisa.

I seen this movie back in the late 80's, early 90's. I don't remember much of it, but it was a very sad movie. I remember there were two little baby brothers sitting on a blanket in the back yard (I believe by a white picket fence) and one of the boys was kidnapped. For years nobody found the missing boy. He showed up in town when he was much older and ran into his mother in a store. I think she thought it was him from the moment she saw him. I think he denied being her son, but at the end of the movie the boy wrote a letter to his mother and the letter was so sad. I can't remember what the letter said but I was crying pretty hard when she read it. I believe the movie was on TV and was either a local station or lifetime movie.

Result: The Magic Sword (1962) starring Gary Lockwood. It's in color. Thanx Marphisa, ALNA70.

A friend of mine is sure she saw a black-and-white American film on TV back in the mid-1960's, set in medieval or some other ancient times, involving someone having problems with a sorceror and how he goes down into the basement or crypt of either his family castle or that of the sorceror, where he finds statues of seven (7) or twelve (12) knights who were also victims of the sorceror, and the statues come to life to help him in his quest to defeat this sorceror.

Result: Danger Island (1992) (TV) starring Kathy Ireland. Thanx Mike D.

I saw it sometime in the 70's, I think it was released during the later 60's-70's. I saw it on TV, don't remember if it was a video or on HBO. I am also not sure if it was released in theaters. It was in color. Plot: Begins with a childs' birthday party and the family celebrating and filming it with an old movie camera, then it cuts to a group of hired killers going to the house where the birthday party is. The killers break in and shoot everyone only to find they went to the wrong house. I think the father survives and gets revenge.

Result: It Happened In Broad Daylight (1958) (original title, Es geschah am hellichten Tag), a German film; director Ladislao Vajda, starring Heinz Rühmann and Gert Fröbe. The script was written by Friedrich Dürrenmatt, who later turned the story into a novel, though changing the ending. This novel then was turned into the film The Pledge in 2001, directed by Sean Penn and starring Jack Nicholson. Thanx Juniper.

I am looking for the title of a movie that came out in the 50's or early 60's about a child killer..European (but not the movie "M") It may have the word summer in the film title..Lead character bald or balding, overweight..Seems to take place in the suburbs.

Result: Race With The Devil (1975) starring Peter Fonds, Warren Oates and Loretta Swit. Thanx Mark, Stareater, Alli.

a group of peeps are on a holiday. The men go into a forest and witness a devil worship thing happening and see a woman killed. They make some noise and then these devil worshippers chase the guys ho jump in a caravan and the woshippers still chase them. The next day they report this to the cops who go with them the next day to the forest to investigate this and only find a dead dog. The peeps then want to back to their state and camp at a campey place and go swimming and when they come back they find their dog dead in their van. Towards the end the are driving back to their state and the worshippers try to car jack them but the men fight them of as the women drive. Anyway as they approach a police block, the cops tell them to pull over and stay in the country field as there lights were broken in the last attack and it was getting dark. Result: Demons (1985) aka Demoni Director, Lamberto Bava, and Dario Argento. Thanx anon.

The movie was in the 80s, there is a dark haired brother, late teens, good looking. He has trouble with women, bad things happen to the girls he likes, has something to do with his twin sister, it's a horror movie, there is a curse or some type of part-demon heritage. He may or may not know his sister, the sister has about shoulder length dark hair, kind of fluffy and curly, she is very pretty. The one scene that stands out in my mind is that there is a girl in a bathroom stall taking a p*ss at the movie theater, but then the sister goes into the bathroom, and the next thing you know these demon claws reach under the stall and drag the girl out screaming and there's blood.

Result: The Ugly Little Boy (1977) a half-hour short, based on an Asimov story. It is from a six-episode Canadian/British series called Classics Dark and Dangerous. Thanx outsourced.

It was probably the mid to late seventies, guessing by what they were wearing. The story was about these scientists who get this creature from another planet or the future. This one woman scientist becomes attached to the little creature and gives him a baby blanket. All I really remember in any detail is what I believe to be the ending where the scientists are about to beam the creature back. The creature is sitting on a round white platform looking like he is wondering what the hell is going on. The woman scientist is pleading with the other scientists not to beam the creature back because he'll be all on his own and will die etc. The scientists refuse to listen and just as they press the button to beam the creature back to parts unknown, the woman scientist jumps in, throws her arms around the creature and is beamed back with him. She is wearing all white and the pants are bell-bottoms.

Result: The Boy With Two Heads aka Chico the Rainmaker TV show from the United Kingdom. kids find a talking shrunken head in an antique shop and have many adventures trying to get the head, Chico, back to the rainforest. Thanx Alli. Jul 3, 2006

I saw it on T.V in what had to be the late 1970's or early 1980's. It was a kids movie, probably an afterschool special or CBC or PBS special, we lived in London, Ontario at the time. It was probably in colour, but all we had was a B/W T.V, so I dunno. Anyways, it was about 1 or 2 boys and a girl and they somehow get this box with a man's head in it, but it's not a horror or anything, and the head talks, and I think he had a beard. The only thing I remember is that for some reason the kids leave the box with the head in it on a ledge in a cave because that's the right thing to do for the head.

Result: Johnny Stecchino Thanx TTM.

This is a film I saw on TV, maybe 10 years ago. A comedy, I think black and white, possibly French or Italian. It was incredibly funny - well I thought so at the time. The plot as I remember was about a guy who I think was fraudulently in receipt of some sort of benefit. He had to manufacture a twitch when the person checking up on the benefit came round. Some how he gets mistaken for a hit man or some crime boss I think. These two personas get intertwined.

Result: The Babysitter's Seduction Thanx AlluringGirl.

I think I saw this movie on Lifetime in about 2001. A quiet man who's wife was going out of town for a month hired a girl as a babysitter. I remember a scene of the man and the babysitter talking on a deck/balcony and may have been on a sea coast. The babysitter becomes increasingly "friendly" with the man. I remember a scene that one evening she puts on his wife's night gown and tries to seduce him.
