Result: Born American (1996) directed by and starring Renny Harlin. It is the Finland and Russian border they cross. Thanx Alli.
Im looking for a movie, where these 3 friends are hunting or walking through the woods around Europe and some how end up crossing the border between Russia and free Europe. They get picked up by the KGB as spies (I think) and get the usual KGB tourture. One of them ends up getting a broken Pepsi bottle shoved into his neck or upper body. Then another gets brain washed and has to fight in somekind of human deathmatch chess game. But in the end I think two of them end up escaping with the help of fellow prisoners. Im sure it was made during the 80's since I remember watching it on HBO or Cinemax when I was little.
Result: Love Is A Many Splendored Thing (1955) With Jennifer Jones. Thanx Janet the Film Goddess.
This is a classic movie and love story. It may have originally been black and white but I saw a colorized version. It is set in Europe (I think Italy) and tells a love story of an Asian or Eurasian female physician (played by an American or European actress made up to look Asian)working at an Italian hospital during the war. The hospital sits atop a hill and overlooks a single tree on a hill which is featured prominately during the film as a meeting place for this Asian Female doctor and her American male lover. It appears their love is forbidden because of the racial difference especially at a time during the war conflict. This films appears to have been made post-WWII but may have been into the 60's for all I know. It stars popular actor and actress of the time but this movie caught my attention late one night and I haven't been able to get it out of my mind since! It ends sadly on a beautiful shot of the sunset showing only the silhouette of the tree with no lovers underneath.

I saw a movie on TV when I was young, late seventies or early eighties, and it was in color. It revolved around a family who (I think) had an older sibling who died. This siblings ghost then started to haunt the family. The only part I remember somewhat clearly was when one of the brothers, probably about 12 years old, was climbing on the side of their 2-story house. When he was close to the window, the ghost scared him so he fell. The Mother was in the kitchen and when she heard the scream, she dropped a melon (or something like that) which fell to the ground a squished (as did the boy). I've always assumed it was made-for-TV, but I'm not sure.

Plenty of info...somebody was asking about this on another website an I too have seen it but can't remember the name. I would say it's an 80s film, but I only saw it about 5-6 years ago on TV, so I can't be more year specific. Here's what he posted first:
I saw it at least 10 years ago and it dealt with a family that was coming to live in a house that was built on some sort of Indian burial ground. A native came to warn them but -for the sake of the story- they ignored him. After a while they found out that somekind of monster (I think the werewolf-kind) was living in the basement. The last thing I remember was that there was somekind of passage from a nearby lake or puddle into this basement... Pretty meager description I would say but that's all I can remember.
My Reply:Look, I saw this movie on TV a long time ago that had a giant rat in it that kind of sounds like that. I only saw the end, but I remember, it seemed like there was a semi-abusive father, but when he found out the little boy was right, everything was instantly all right. I was just thinking it might be that b/c it seems like they crawled up under the house and out through a lake and then blew the house and lake up with some dynamite or something.
A little info I found from a 2nd web site that might help:
I have a question. I forget the name of a movie that came out either in the 80s or the early 90s. It was about a guy and his son, or a family who move to some small house in the desert or plains. They find a skull on their basement door. The boy soon learns that there is a monster living in the basement. I remember it eats his one friend in a lake or a pond. And the boy sets up traps for the monster in the basement. One of which is a bear trap, in which the creature gets its foot caught but ends up gnawing the foot off. The boy tries telling people but no one believes him, of course. There was a native american in the movie too, who ends up dying. I think he's killed by a flock of birds flying into his car. The movie probably had something to do with a native american legend monster type theme.

I saw a movie in the early to mid 80s that came to mind recently. It was about these kids, I believe a boy and a girl, who were in a plane crash with their father. (I'm not certain about the plane crash, but somehow they wound up stranded in the wilderness.) It was probably in the mountains where they were first stranded, because I remember there being snow. The father wound up dying, and the kids had to go on on their own. Eventually they get out of the wilderness and are saved. A lot of the details are very sketchy, and I only vaguelly remember the basic plot.

My daughter seems to recall a live action...not an animated one...movie back in the early 90s about a Golden Goose..possibly named Chester. He was owned by 2 kids and someone was trying to steal him. It was also a book..one she claims that she had but I can't remember at all. I told her it sounds like Jack & the Beanstalk but she swears that it wasn't. I have been looking on here all day and I can't come up with one. I Found several references to one back in the late 60s about a goose all these girls get stuck to, but my daughter said that is not it.
Result: In God We Trust (2000) 17 min short Thanx Marcia. Jun 11, 2006
There was a movie I saw sometime around 1998-2000. It was a short movie on HBO maybe 15 minutes long. In the movie a guy is walking down the road and a hobo asks him for change. I forget if he gives it to him but I think he doesn't. At some point he gets killed and is in the waiting room for heaven. They look on a computer and find he does not have enough positive points to go to heaven and must now go to hell. He then escapes somehow and is running from some people trying to get him back. While running away he accidently gains some positive points. At one time he smashes a boom box playing the backstreet boys. It ends with him picking up a quarter from the street and then getting hit by a car. The quarter flies from his hand and lands in the hobos cup giving him the last positive point needed to stay in heaven. Im pretty sure this short film was a commedy.

(My guess for this one is Boy on a Dolphin 1957 - me)I saw this one on April 2, 1995 local TV too. It was about these spongy things under the sea. I'm pretty sure it was in COLOR (but it wasn't that great, like colors in films had just come out). Anyway, it was about these dark yellow sponge plants that people got under the sea. Supposedly, they were worth alot of money. I just remember that one night some angry villagers set them on fire. Another scene had this guying going down to get them, but the heavy suit they put him in suffacated him, because when he got back to the surface they couldn't revive him and he died. Towrads the end, they got another guy to go down (in the suite too, so it was suspenseful). His first catch was really good. I think he also managed to survive with minor injuries.

I'm looking for a movie that I think came out in the late 1980's to early 1990's. I remember a scene with the blonde from "A Christmas Story" (Peter Billingsly?) where he is laying in bed and all of a sudden a bunch of tarantulas are all over his bed. Thats all I remember and I don't think it was a horror story, but I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure I saw it on tv, didn't rent it.

It takes place somewhere between 1975-1985, I can tell by the lead characters porn mustache and I saw it 2 yrs ago on late night cable. I caught the ending which was very disturbing and need to see the whole thing. Basically, a bunch of people are running around a house attempting to avoid zombies that spit acid causing peoples faces to melt exposing skeletal faces similiar to those in the movie "Them". In the meantime, they find that a mirror is controlling these zombies and at the end a demon attempts to pull a girl through the mirror as she calls to it, "Father". Another woman knocks her through the mirror than the male lead wakes up and believes that its only a dream but when he turns on the television he sees the girl standing on the stairs to a church staring back at him. Bam---end of movie!
Result: Invaders From Mars (1986) Thanx Ryan.
This movie is from the 70's or early 80's. All I can remember is that the aliens settle in a cave and they take over human bodies. One scene is where they take a school bus load of kids into the cave and a teacher tries to save them. The only other thing I remember is that in the cave there were really big bugs with long legs. It seemed like a low budget film, not very popluar I am guessing.

Well, I was probably around 10 or so... I was born in 1977, so around mid-late 80's... it was on TV, but we were @ a hotel w/movie channels (HBO, Cinnemax, Showtime, etc), so it may not have been old enough to be on regular TV. Actually, I'm pretty sure this WAS NOT on regular TV... too graphic The scene is set in, maybe, a jail cell... there is a priest and another man, sitting across from each other on the cell beds. They are talking. (the walls MAY be made of stone or something... (they were dark, is all i remember and stone is coming to mind). The priest must have enraged the other man, because (i'm pretty sure the other man was possessed) his eyes started to glow and he (mentally or whatever) slung the priest high and hard against the wall. I'm very sorry, but that's all I remember. Any help you can give would be great. This movie scared the CRAP out of me when I was little... and I'm always desperate for something that is ACTUALLY scary... they are few and far between.

The movie was in color and was sometime in the 90's. It was more of a suspense/creepy film. It was about a boy who lived with his mom and step dad and then he started killing people. I remember he shot a boy that was picking on him by a tree and killed his nanny in the elevator shaft in the house. The mom and step dad find disturbing drawings in the boys room (which may have been an attic) one is of a really scary teddy bear. [[spoiler]] but it turns out that the real dad was actually living the in attic and killing anyone that was at all mean to the boy,

I'm looking for a movie from the mid to late 80's (88 if I have to place a year to it) that I believe was a collection of stories. (probably made for TV) In one of these stories a boy sees a monster in his closet, and tells his father (uncle?) about the monster and the father (I think it was James Belushi though I'm not certain) doesn't believe him. The story tracks the child through the night as the father/uncle grows increasingly upset and eventually makes the kid go to bed, where the monster eats him. The monster, kind of looked like a frog if I remember right, haha, though it terrified me at the time because my closet looked exactly like the boys. Another one of the stories had something to do with little red riding hood, though I never was able to watch all of the video. It might have been Tales from the darkside, or a collection of outer limits or something, I'm not sure.

All I can remember from this film is the ending. A girls walks into what I remember to be a basement cellar and finds a boy sitting facing away from her. I can remember the feeling that the boy, all along was doing evil things throughout the film, but am not sure. At any rate, when she walks up to the boy, after having overcome her ordeal through the movie, the boy turns around and I remember his face being some atrocious lookin bug covered thing.

Saw this on HBO, mid to late 80's perhaps. Definitely color. A lady ends up in a house where the woman who lives there is hidind a deformed/retarded (but big!) child in the basement. He watches through the heat vents. I may be getting movies mixed together here, but I remember 2 scenes. The first has the lady wearing a scarf, she drops something and bends down to pisck it up. He scarf falls near one of the vents and the guy in the basement grabs it and pulls her down into the floor hard, knocking her out. The next scene, the lady is in the basement with the guy. He's definitely deformed and wearing what looks to be a diaper? He plays with (or taunts) her, shakes his hands a lot, going "Ooooh!! Ooooh!" (he can't talk). He has a stuffed animal that he puts in his diaper, and runs around.
I've been trying to find the same movie. I saw it in an American movie theater early 1980's. I'd guess 1981 or 1982. After the monster and the girl end up in the basement the deformed child's parents come down stairs as well. We find out they are actually brother and sister and the child belongs to them. He has killed other girls (2 I believe) and I believe he hides one of them under a pile of clothes. I think (but I'm not sure) the father gets upset and starts to beat the child. The girl's boyfriend shows up to help. Someone uses a 2x4 with a nail on the creature in the end.

I'm not sure that I've even seen this movie. I'm also assuming that this clip does indeed come from a movie. I have been searching the internet for about two days trying to find some clue as well as asking friends. Every suggestion--Tales from the Crypt, Saw, Feardotcom, Curtains--has resulted in me still being stuck with a clip and no answer as to what it's from. I'm not even positive that it's from a horror movie, but it looks like it. It's color. The clip features a very gaunt, almost maniquin-like woman in a wheelchair. She/it has on a long, curly dark red wig as well as a white mask. She rolls towards the camera and you see her eyes in the slits of the mask, but they don't look human. In fact, nothing about her looks human. Her head rolls around and then there are no eyes in the mask. It's an older, metal wheelchair, but the clip moves so fast that it's hard to tell. Here is a link to the image.

I am desperately trying to track down a movie from the early 80's and you guys are my last hope. The movie was quite possibly a made for T.V movie, but I am not positive. There is very little information I can recall since I haven't seen this movie in like 20 years or so. It is a ghost story involving the haunting of a young boy. The boy was proabably around 12 years old and he died at the beginning of the movie. I believe he chocked at the breakfast table and his parents were unable to save him. His death left an impression on the house and his ghost would haunt a new family that moved in at a future date.

This was some kind of scary TV series episode I think. It was in color, and I saw it in the 80's. It was about a man using a ouija board. The board led him to a key near a fireplace. The key was to a secret room in his house. When he entered the room I think there were old dolls on the floor. The board told him to put the key in a crack in the floor. He could not get out after he lost the key, and was stuck in that secret room.

I think this was some kind of scary series episode. I saw it in the 80's. It was in color and was about a killer, I think a strangler, who was killing girls at a school, it might have been a college or highschool. An unpopular girl decides to fake that she was attacked in the woods to get attention from the media and her peers. This leads the killer to her who comes after her at her house and kills her. At the end it shows another girl listening to the story on TV with a creepy smile on her face. You assume she is going to fake an attack too.

I am trying to find a movie that I am assuming came out between 1985-1990. I remember the movie starting out with a boy who goes to play outside and is walking around a well. A few kids come up and start messing with him and he somehow falls in. All the children except for one little girl leave. She gets help for him. So many years later he is in a coma and wakes up. He escapes from hospital and goes around killing selected people who did not help him. The man dies at the end leaving the one girl that helped him alive. Ending seen is him telling her he loved her with a tear drop falling as he dies. Color film. My babysitter rented this for me from small video shop.

Watched this film in about 1998, but the film could have been made earlier. It has a young boy aged about 7 who lives with his mum and dad in a house that has a white picket fence (maybe a lake?). He keeps drawing these graphic scary pictures of horrible stuff happening, like murders, and it keeps coming true. Think one is of a house burning down and it happens, and something to do with his dog buried in the garden and it happens. Everyone thinks it is the little boy who is doing it, but it turns out to be a man hidden in his house (attic?) who is telling the boy to do these drawings, and the man is actually doing the killing. Think there's some scary piano music in it. It was American.

I saw this film in the late 1980's i believe - my mother used to go and rent it at an old movie store in Flemington NJ.It's definatly in color but I can't remember character names. I do remember that there is a half boy half goat, another (possibly asian) boy and a girl that i beleive could be a fairy that the possibly asain boy falls in love with. I remember that there is a lot of war type scenes in the movie and gun fights - actually it seemed kind of gory to me as a child. I rememeber this one scene in particular where the possibly asian boy is in a cave and the fairy girl is sitting on a branch and asks him if he is trying to capture her heart....at least i think so. Anyway, it's been driving me crazy for over 10 years so if you could help me please and suggestions would be helpful.

I saw a movie many years ago (maybe late 70's). It was on TV. I think it was black and White. In the movie the main character is a guy in a military prison. He decides he is going to pretend to go crazy so he will get moved to a hospital. The guard doesn't believe that the guy is really crazy and tries all kinds of physical and psycological abuse to get the guy to admit he is just faking it. In one scene I remember the guard saying that he tried beating him on regular intervals and that didn't work and then tried random intervals and that didn't work. At the end the guard gives up and the guy is transfered to the hospital but by that point he really had gone crazy and, thinking that the ambulance he was being transported in was a trick he breaks out the back door and falls out of the ambulance and dies.

a movie from the late 40's or 50's. Black and white, [I think} about war. A battalion of our men land on an island, fighting the Japanese. They're job was to clear the place and save the war..[of course]. One young man finds a young horse caught in a bog or thicket. He saves the horse, nurses it to health and falls in love with it. They are instructed to leave the Island, clear out... He wants to load the horse on the carrier. It was one that had a ramp on the back for loading and unloading equipment. The C.O. says, "no way, not an option" All the men want the horse to come. It will die if left there alone. They shove off without her, tears are flowing etc. They look back and she is swimming behind this big ship...I think he called her bess but am not sure and I have no clue who he was. It was great to watch and of course everyone in the theater was crying and cheering on the horse.

This movie was in color around the 80's. I don't remember where I saw it, It may have come on the movie cable channels. It was about a young girl, maybe a sophomor or junior in high school, she and her boyfriend is on their way to the prom. The boyfriend is speeding down this backroad, being stupid. He drives up to some cars or bikes honking his horn, swerving side to side telling them to move out of the way. While following this biker gang on motorcycles or the cars, the boy get's impatient, passes them and gives them the finger or something. The boy loses control of his car and gets into a car wreck down a hill on the side of the road. He is killed but the girl survives. The girls manages to crawl to the road, sees the biker gang standing around and asks them to help her. The biker gang surrounds her and she is beaten, raped, sodomized and later put into the hospital and dies. Their father is a police man and tells his son they have nothing and the case was closed. The brother feels that his father is not doing enough, so he and a few of his senior high school friends takes justice into their hands and starts finding and killing off the biker gang who was involved in his sisters death. The father later finds out it is his son going around killing off the biker gang. After a gun shoot out, the brother and his friends goes to thier tree house and blows themselves up with a grenade.

It involved a father and his daughters (i can't remember if there were any boys)being shipwrecked or stranded. At one point girls are trying to stay warm and dry under raft plastic or something. The father was wearing a yellow jacket/raincoat. I think there might have been a bear or animal attack at one point???I saw it on television I believe for the first time.

Okay I saw this movie when I was a kid. Black and white movie on TV. I would say this would be around the middle 1970's to middle 1980's. Probably early '80s. Not sure about the actors. Can not remember anyone that really stands out. I saw a close version of this movie one day when I was watching a Twilight Zone or Outer Limits episode where two men make a bet where one man must be confined to a room or house and can not talk to anyone for a certain amount of days/time. In this episode the person who can not talk cuts his vocal cords to win the bet. But, the man who is supposed to pay the other man can not actually pay his bet at the end. The movie I saw was similar to this. Two men make a bet. I believe the rich man wanted to keep the other man away from a woman or give him time to win her hand from the other man. The bet is that the man can not stay in a see-through room and not leave or talk to anyone who comes into the room. I remember the "glass room" was made for the bet in a library or study room who was owned by the rich man. The man in the "glass room" spends his time reading and reading all kinds of books. The rich man brings him books, and his dinners and tempts him to give up on the bet repeatedly. The movie ends with the man in the "glass room" winning the bet, but he leaves a note for the rich man explaining what he has learned from this bet. He leaves the "glass room" and the rich man's house, and spends his time in his own house secluded from the world. I've looked on Ebay and Amazon for various possible searches with this plot, and could not find anything. I am hoping you can help me in this quest to find this movie. I did a search through all your pages of found movies for the word "bet". Since this would be a good indicator of possible finding it in the movie descriptions.

Seen on late night tv in the 80's. Likely black & white. Storyline: An older couple with an adult daughter who is learning disabled travel abroad with her. I think they went to Italy. (Could be wrong on the locale.) A young man falls in love with the daughter, and the parents must decide whether or not to permit a marriage. They finally decide that the young man will care for her, that her handicaps are pleasingly concealed within her "foreignness", and they let the couple marry.

(not the Kevin Bacon flic - The River Wild - me)I saw this movie about 15 years ago, I think it was on HBO or something back when movies actually had violence, blood, gore and exploitation. Anyway I think that the people were on a rafting trip or something to do with the outdoors, it looked like a two couples and a tour guide or maybe just someone that they bumped into in the outdoors because he tagged along. Eventually trouble started and a girl tried to escape or something. The guy ran after her and the girls boyfriend tried to help her but the guy grabbed a gun and stopped the people from getting away. As a punishment he had the girl handcuff her boyfriend and he made him watch him violate her while she was forced to act like she was enjoying it. It was a color movie, I would guess made in the 80-90's but I am not sure. I have looked for this but have not been able to find it for years. It has to be a movie before the year 1991, I am sure about that. I am tempted to say the movie was made about the same time as a movie "The adventures of ?" not Buckaro Bonzai but when a group of people were taken to a tribes camp and one of the women was lathered up with oil by other woman as part of something. I only mention this movie because I think these were all on HBO about the same time frame. I think that the movie was on HBO between 1980-1988, but that is just a guess. You help is much appreciated with this as I have literally spent hours trying to find it. I even have gone to Boarders and those type of places and try to search their movie network with terms.
Result: Over The Edge (1979) starring Matt Dillon. Thanx snotjello.
I just remember the end of the movie from the 1980's, 3 teenagers in an abandoned building. I want to say they were running from someone (the law?) or one of them is hurt or one of them has a gun and is going to do something drastic. (Yes, I know, very broad scenarios, but I just remember this scene at the end having something going on that would change the fate of these kids.) I picture the building being very high up or at a slant. I'm picturing the underside of a bridge, slanted. Maybe that's where they were? I think there is a girl (who is the "bad girl") and 2 brothers. I remember some scene with bicycles on a bridge. I think the movie took place in California.
Result: Through The Eyes Of A Killer (1992) (TV) starring Marg Helgenberger and Richard Dean Anderson. Thanx Marphisa.
This movie was from the mid 80's to early 90's. All I remember is a man living in the walls of a woman's house/apartment. At the end when she discovers this there is a big chase scene within the walls. I'm not sure if he was a stalker, murderer, or just some strange guy. Now, this may be a different movie, but in her apartment there is a stained glass window with "God's Eye" on it. I think a person living in your walls is scarier than being chased by Jason Voorhees or the neatest thing would be to be able to walk within the walls of your house.
Result: The Dollmaker (1984) (TV) starring Jane Fonda. Thanx Marphisa.
This movie was in the early 80's and played on basic networks (ABC,CBS,NBC) not cable. Most likely it was a Made-for-TV movie. I can only remember two things and they might be from different movies. One part is a little girl in the checkout line of a grocery store with her mother. She starts coughing up blood. She had something wrong with her (perhaps pneumonia?) so the mother felt sorry for her daughter, but it wasn't a shock. I think maybe she hands her a tissue. The other part I remember is at the end of the movie. The little girl is on train tracks. I think she was in her back yard, fenced in, wasn't supposed to go beyond the fence (perhaps because she was sick?) and I assume is hit by a train, can't remember, but she is very injured, bleeding badly. Her mother picks her up and... blank space... but she ends up dying. The little girl had glasses. I want to say other kids teased her. As I said, these may be 2 completely different movies.
Result: Brainscan (1994) starring Edward Furlong. The demon looking guy is named, "Trickster". He purchases an interactive video game where he commits murders. He also has a telephone via the computer where he tells it a name and the computer dials it for him. Thanx Charity, RomanyX.
This movie was released between 1991 and 1994. This movie was released in the USA. I rented the movie from a video store in my hometown. The only thing I can remember about this movie is that it was about a young guy that receives a CD-ROM in the mail and he is told not to put it in his computer, but he does anyway. A monster or "demon" that looks like the demon from the movie "Little Monsters" appears to him and tells him that the CD-ROM will allow him to dream up or devise his wildest fantasies. The movie is kind of a thriller but with a mix of early virtual reality type material. The movie was released in the pre-internet days. I'm pretty sure it was early 90's.
Result: Coupe De Ville (1990) starring Patrick Dempsey. Thanx Marphisa.
I saw a part of a film on BBC TV (in the UK) a few weeks ago (end of MAy 2005), but frustratingly cannot find any historic tv listings. The film looks like it was set in the 60's (possibly) but was made recently. It concerns three brothers that are asked by their father to pick up his car on the east coast US to drive it to him on the west coast. The brothers do not get on, but during the trip develop a bond. It is revealed that the father actually has cancer, and is soon to die. The film is therefore exploring the relationship of the brothers and how they come to terms with the fathers imminent death. I believe the car was a red cadillac, which is of course is trashed during the trip. Other events include them going to the dog races to try and win money to fix the trashed car etc. The oldest brother was in the army, the youngest still at school. A film similar to feel as Stand By Me. The film is in colour.
Result: Cavegirl (1985) Thanx ALNA70.
I saw this movie (a comedy) at my aunts around the early 90's, and if I had to guess I'd say it was probably made sometime in the 80's. It starts out with some sort of tour or something at some kind of caves. The title character (he wears glasses) strays off from the rest of the group, and then an earthquake hits. When he comes out from the caves (at a differnet place) he finds out that he has travelled back in time to the caveman days. he meets up with a woman first I think, and eventually tries to play "hide the weenie" with her. they also run across a tribe of male cavemen, who are not all to friendly at first, but eventually i think they sort of form a tribe or become friends at least. I don't remember much else except for the end. He somehow manages to return to the caves and comes back out in the present during the first earthquake. No one believes him but one of the cavemen has come through with him, and he decides he is better off in the past, so before the earthquake is over he and the caveman go back through the cave.
Result: The Happiest Millionaire (1967) starring Fred MacMurray and Greer Garson. Thanx Marphisa.
I watched this movie when I was a child(early 1980s)about an Alligator(s) that lived inside this beautiful mansion set back in the 1920's. I believe one of the Alligators was named "George". These alligators were the mans pets. They had a little pool in the house where the alligator stayed, and sometimes he would go up the staircase. The movie was in color. It was on TV, possibly Disney channel.
Result: Danger Island (1992) (TV) starring Kathy Ireland. Thanx Marphisa.
I am wondering the name of a movie that I believe was on TV. It wasn't a TV show, it could have been a mini-series or made for TV movie. Either late 80's, early 90's. The television series "Lost" has brought up memories of it and I would really like to watch it again. There were people lost on an island and strange things were happening. They ended up finding this big building which was responsible for the strange occurances. Because either the building contained radition or nuclear items or a secret experiment or something going on. I can't remember if the government was involved or what. It wasn't the "Land of the Lost". I don't think there were weird things like dinosaurs, just strange occurances, similar to what is going on in "Lost". Now, this might be a completely different movie I am thinking about. But there is some strange worshipping structure in the jungle. You know, made of stone, statues, smoke/fires around it, etc... Strange natives worship this statue as a GOD. Weird things happen because of it.
Result: Circuito Chiuso (1978) (TV) Thanx Alli.
this was a kind of western where the action took place in the movie theatre where spectators who sat on a certain chair were shot each show - practically from the screen. At the end the main character is smoking a cigar in the film, throws it from the screen and everybody see the smoking cigar on the floor of the movie theater....
Result: Lucky Stiff (1988) directed by Anthony Perkins. Thanx Marphisa.
I saw this film on VHS around the early 90s so the movie probably came out late 80s early 90s. It was a comedy about a fat man who goes on some type of vacation, (i'm thinking a ski resort). He ends up finding this beautiful blonde who lives there and think she's in love with him. What he didn't know what that the blonde and her family were cannibals and wanted to cook him for christmas dinner. I think at the end of the movie her family and there rivals neighbors go on a shot out the capture the fat man and eat him for dinner.
Result: Bad Dreams (1988) with Jennifer Rubin. Thanx Alli, RomanyX.
I think that I saw this movie in the 80s or early 90s. I don't rememember very much but here goes. There is this girl who has joined a cult. The cult "hangs out" by a body of water, possibly a lake. The cult followers are "born" into the cult in the water. There is this really scary cult leader who is this older man. The main character of the movie starts to go crazy. She is taken the a hospital / psychiatric hospital. While in the hospital, she starts to have hallucinations or visions of the cult leader appearing to her. The viewer doesn't know if he is really there or not. There is a scene when she is in the hospital where she is walking down the hall and the cult leader "makes" or she hallucinates that someone (another patient?) gets put into a huge exhaust fan that sprays blood everywhere. I seem to remember that she is not really crazy and the cult leader is not really after here but she is being given medication by ? who makes here experience all of these horrible things. Maybe a doctor helps her out of the hospital in the end of the movie.
Result: Blind Faith with Robert Urich, and yes he does pretend to break down on a lonely road at night and then push his wife in front of a car. True story. Thanx Charity.
A man marries and takes out an insurance policy. I get the feeling he is already married to someone else. On the honeymoon, he pretends the car has broken down and pulls over to the side of the road. They both get out and I think he pretends to look at the engine. He pushes his wife in front of an oncoming car, killing her. I'm not sure if the driver is in on it or not and I can't remember if it is male or female. (maybe the mans original wife?)
Result: Welcome To Woop Woop (1997) with Johnathon Schaech and Rod Taylor. Schaech meets a girl in the Outback and she sleeps w/ him, then drugs him and takes him back to this strange town run by her father, Daddy-O. They are married while he is drugged. He eventually falls in love w/ her sister. Great movie--really weird, but lots of fun. They watch old musicals as entertainment. Thanx Alli.
This movie is about a guy in australia who sleeps with a girl who in turn kidnaps him and takes him to meet her family at some compound. He tries to escape and eventually decides he loves her. I think it was within the last ten years.
Result: The Watcher In The Woods (1980) with Bette Davis and Lynne-Holly Johnson. Thanx Alli.
I saw this on tv in the late 80s, early 90s. It was in color. I remember it being about a girl who was somehow communicating with the ghost of another girl. For some reason, I think one of the girls was named Karen. I believe the girl who had died had drowned. Her mother is still alive, but reclusive. I think there was a necklace somehow involved. And in the end, the living girl falls into the water and you think that the mother is holding her under, but she's really trying to rescue her. I hope I'm not mixing two movies together or something because I can't find this anywhere!
Result: Hard Rock Zombies (1985) with Phil Fondacaro, aka, the Troll from the Troll movies. Thanx Alli.
It definitely isnt Return of the Living Dead 3. The zombie was a military person or a punk rocker, that movie which I seen, yes the boyfriend is a military guys son ,but not the movie I was looking for. Plus that movie was made in 1993. This movie I was needing help on was made and aired in the mid 1980s,best estimate is 1985-87.It was aired on the old USA network movie show-"Saturday Nightmares". A few more details me and my friend remember in addition to the stuff we mentioned before-The zombie that ate its own arm put some sort of condiment on his arm before he ate it(Mustard,Mayo ,or A1).He ate all of his arm and then later on he pulled his lip over his head and ate what that was left of himself and disappeared into nothing(ala a black hole).Other sites have told us the movie might be C.h.u.d (aint seen it in ages) or Neon Maniacs(never seen it) or Street Trash(never seen it as well).Maybe some one can help us out who has seen any of those movies I mentioned and let me know if the Self eating zombie is in it.
It was in the early to mid 1980s.The premise of the movie was either involving zombies or mutants in a town, I dunno if it was in the future times or not. There was one zombie or mutant/monster in the movie that ate his arm and continued to eat itself. It ate its whole self away. We thought the zombie was either a punk rocker type or was in some sort of army uniform (not too sure). We also remember the movie had a comic theme and was kind of a parody.
Result: The Angry Red Planet (1960) Thanx Stareater.
Result: Man Eater Of Hydra (1967) aka Island of the Doomed Thanx Stareater.
I'm 100% sure that the requestor of film #1031 has two different movies mixed up. The '60s film with a killer tree getting chopped with an axe is definitely "Man Eater of Hydra"(aka Island of the Doomed, 1967), directed by Mel Welles and starring Cameron Mitchell, about a deranged botanist who develops a vampiric tree that kills his guests one by one. The mad doctor engages in a climactic axe fight with the hero, who chops into the tree and unleashes tons of blood everywhere. As far as astronauts getting munched by a tree, he may be thinking of "The Angry Red Planet"(1960), where astronauts encounter a carnivorous plant among other horrors. The plant is frozen, however, and not destroyed by an axe. - Stareater
I amk looking for a Horror Film that I believe I saw in the mid to late sixties on TV. It was about abunch of astronauts on Mars (I think) that were getting eaten by this tree. Finally-- possibly the lone survivor-- starting whacking at the tree with an axe and blood was gushing out everywhere. I really believe the movie was astronauts and a really nasty carnivorous tree but I was a little kid-- I might be getting my horror films mixed up. I do remember the bright green leaves on the tree and the gory red of the blood gushing from the trunk as it was being whacked with an axe.
Result: The Crying Red Giant Thanx acquistapasta. Aug 1, 2006
Looking for a children's movie from 1975-1979 about a Blue Giant and Yellow Giant. It was animated (or clay or whatever Morph is made of). All i remember is crying for the Yellow Giant because something happens to the Blue Giant (dies) and he keeps yelling out "Blue Giant"
Result: Ollie Hopnoodle's Haven Of Bliss (1988) made-for-PBS. Thanx Mark, Marphisa.
Movie shown on PBS probably somewhere in the 1980's. Story of couple going on vacation with their two children back in the 40's or 50's. They loaded up all their belonging on top of the car and where headed to some odd named motor lodge. It is a hilarious story of their journey. They made all kind os stops along the way at side the road sellers, etc.I believe at the end they may have made it to the camp but don't remember.
Result: Flight Of The Navigator (1986) Thanx Mini Me, Joanie, Bruce, Marphisa, Patricia, kimothy.
This movie was made in the 70's or 80's. It's about a boy that's in the woods with his friends one day and then he suddenly disappears. His friends try to look for him but can't find him. Then boy finds himself in the woods and looks for his friends, thinking that no time has passed. He hasn't aged at all. But when he goes home he friends out that years have passed by. He is welcomed back from his family but it is hard for them to adjust. His brother, which had been younger is now older/the same as his brother who had disappeared. There's a scene where the boy is on a boat with a girl that he likes and the brother is jealous.
Result: A Hazard Of Hearts (1987) (TV) starred Helena Bonham Carter and Marcus Gilbert, with Edward Fox as the villain. An adaptation of a Barbara Cartland period romance. Thanx Marphisa, poster, Patricia.
I saw this movie between the years 1987- 1990(Maybe). It is in color and it seems to have a european 1700's or 1800's setting. I saw it on TV though it could have been a movie made earlier and only shown on TV after. From what I remember, the movie starts off with this man who is lusts after this young girl. This man plays the father of this girl in a hand of poker where the father, after losing everything, bets ownership of the daughter and loses. The father ends up killing himself. Another man, who was at the poker match, challenges this first man for the ownership of the girl and wins. She then has to go live with him in his big mansion. She dispises him at first but they start to fall in love. I thought I remembered a sword fight in a cave towards the end of the movie. The daughter looked very young and a kind of Helena Bonham Carter or Christina Ricci look to her. Other details I remember if it helps is when the gentlemen first goes with friends to fetch the girl, a friend(servant) who is old and not very pretty walks down the stairs and he and his friends think it is her and snicker, but then she walks down and he is stunned into silence. The man who lusts after her had her in his carriage at some point in the movie and tore at her clothes, she got away and ran into the arms of her "guardian" owner, where she then remebered she hated him and pushed him away and ran off to her room.
Result: The Phantom Tollbooth (1970) Butch Patrick Thanx djb, blue, David.
I am looking for a movie I saw on tv in the 7o's possibly early 80's.A kid comes home from school and is talking on the phone with a friend when he discovers a huge box,it may have been wrapped up like a gift.I think his friend tells him to open it and when he does he goes inside the box(maybe). When he does the movie turns into animation ,he meets some characters and they have some kind of adventure. At the end he gets back home(and turns into a real kid again). The phone is still sitting there and when he picks it up his friend is still waiting for him.He said to him something like "where have you been, you've been gone for like 5 minutes.(when in the adventure it had been maybe days).
Result: Anguish (English title) aka Angustia (original title) (1987) starring Zelda Rubinstein and Michael Lerner. Thanx Stareater, Will, ALNA70.
It was either the 70's or 80's. It was a horror film which took place in a movie theatre. The audience was watching a scary film but really it was as though you were supposed to be watching the audience. I think that Robert Costanza was in it, or a character actor similar to him. All I remember is this one scene with a syringe going into an eyeball. It was very trippy.
Result: Curse Of The Black Widow (1977) (TV) starring Donna Mills. Thanx Stareater, ALNA70.
A TV Show/Movie? - Black Widow spider w/ a womans head eating a man caught in her web? I'd say from 1977 or so.
Result: Child Of Glass (again) Thanx runninrabbit.
I saw this movie in the early to mid eighties on tv one night. Don't remember if it was black and white but I don't remember a lot of color. There was a young girl who was dead, who had befriended a young boy who was alive. She has scary visions in her head about (her dad?) yelling at her and she's running away but getting nowhere. She has a doll made of glass. She is allowed to come alive for one night only, and since she has a crush on the boy, she chooses a night when there is a dance to come alive so she may dance with him. They end up fighting about something, and her glass doll breaks at some point.
Result: Deadly Friend (1986) starring Kristy Swanson and directed by Wes Craven. Thanx Stareater.
I saw this movie late 80's-early 90's and there was this scene with a girl walking down the street at night and her face was (melting?) Appeared to metal or robot type under the skin. In another scene there was a basketball that appeared in the bed under the sheets that was rolling up towards the pillows. I know this is very vague. Really want to see the movie again.
Result: The Changeling (1980) starring George C. Scott. Thanx Stareater, ALNA70.
Back in late 70's maybe early 80's I saw a film about a man who moved into a house haunted by the ghost of a crippled boy who was murdered by his parents (drowned in a bath tub)and I think they replaced him with a healthy child who looked just like him. They hid his body in a well and at one point in the movie they are digging and looking for his body when all of a sudden the necklace the boy had been wearing starts coming up through the ground.
Result: AnnŽe des mŽduses, L' (1984) aka Year of the Jellyfish aka Year of the Medusa Thanx simnia.
I am looking for a movie that was shown on one of the three early cable channels (HBO, Showtime, or Cinemax). It was a french film with subtitles. I believe it came on in the late 1970's or ealry 1980's. It was about a young lady who was after the same man that her mother was romancing. He chose the mother. I can't recall all of the details, but I know that the daughter killed the man in the end by pushing him off of a boat. He was stung to death by starfish (to which he was extremely allergic).I believe this movie was on HBO, but I'm not 100% sure. I would greatly appreciate any info you can provide.
Result: Stitches (1985) starring Parker Stevenson. Thanx hmarx20.
In the 80's there was a comedy film based on medical students - starts off with newbies in the morgue with two of the older meds dressed up as cadavers - the sheets come off, they spring to life etc. Also, the men have a medical - the doctor comes to one and says "Wheres the dbeef - ooh, there it is!"
Result: Closer And Closer Starring Kim Delaney. Thanx Dalilah.
The first scene is a woman 40ish blond. wheelchair bound, i think a writer journalist maybe. lives in a mountain house and never leaves. the sherif of the town always comes to visit her. he is the main protector in this movie. she has a dog or cat that is killed. she has a bunch of computers in her home. like i said before very mid west mountain type setting. they track the stalker across country. the main female character is a blond i still think in a wheelchair, but may be blind also. at the very end she crawls out the french doors onto a balcony, climbs up on the roof with a full chin up press flips and hides above. when he comes out the door she left open she throws her body off the roof above and tosses him onto the ground below. she gets phone calls, from the nut, she could be FBI or CIA she gets a lot of help tracking this guy. i have no clue please help. great movie and never suspected it to be that person at the end. i do know that when they tried to make her go into hiding she refused because she felt safe and would not run away again. The cia fbi connection may have been witness protection but can't say for sure.
Result: Ghost In The Machine (1993) Thanx Jeremy.
A horror/ drama movie from the early 90's, possibly 88/89. About a haunted, fairly high tech house with a mind of its own (kills the family dog by closing electric pool cover over it). Pretty sure it was one of Ryan Reynolds' first films, probably 12 at the time.
Result: Siege Of 31 August (1981) from ABC's Darkroom series. Thanx RomanyX, ALNA70, Mark.
It was in the early to mid-80's, color and at night (primetime-ish) on one of the 'Big 3' (CBS, NBC or ABC). The plot involved two young boys (brothers?) who had toy army figures. These figures would 'come to life' at night and create havoc. I specifically remember them burning down a barn. The next day the children were blamed but no one believed them. I have searched Tales from the Darkside, Night Gallery and The Twilight Zone with no luck.
Result: Something Evil (1971) Thanx Alli.
I'm looking for a scary film I saw on midday TV in the 70's. It was colour and I'm pretty sure it was American. I don't remember much except for a scene where a woman opens her curtains and a demon-like man is staring in at her through the rain. It scared the hell out of me. There is a climactic scene where either the demon or Satan appears in her house but is quickly burnt to death. He has wings and I think he is burnt in a ring of fire but I'm not sure. I think the house burns down. It felt similar to 'Don't be Afraid of The Dark' and 'Gargoyles' but it isn't either of those films.
Result: The Unseen starring Barbara Bach and Sydney Lassick. Thanx poster.
I had originally posted question 1003 and you suggested that the movie sounded like a mix between The People Under the Stairs and American Gothic. Although the movie I am searching for is neither, you mad a great observation in pointing out that the film is definitely like a hybird between the two. I am almost positive the movie was from early to mid 80's. It involved a brother and sister that were involved in a secret inappropriate/incestuous relationship which had produced 2 deformed/inbred offspring. The couple was clearly ashamed of their involement with each other and they lived together in a secluded country like area where they could hide their dark secret. The mutant teenagers were kept locked in the basement and there were floorboards throughout the house that were bolted down to prevent them from escaping or being discovered. I can recall a couple of scenes where they were trying desperately to break through floor from the cellar. I believe that the deformed offspring would ultimately take revenge for their mistreatment by killing off their parents in the end. This took place down in the basement and I think the entire home was set ablaze.
This movie was from the early 80's and it involved an incestuous relationship between a brother and sister. They lived together in a remote area possibly in the countryside or a remote wooded area. They were ashamed of their relationship and kept it a secret along with their 2 deformed children which they mistreated and kept locked in the basement. I think there were floor boards throughout the house with locks on them to prevent these deformed offspring from escaping the cellar. I believe the mutant kids killed some teens that were camping in the area and they would ultimately kill off their parents at the end of the movie down in the basement.
Result: Picture Mommy Dead (yet again) (1966) with Don Ameche and Zsa Zsa Gabor. Another poster has given us the words to The Hearse Song (see #561). Thanx RomanyX, Alli.
There is a girl with her doll in front of a large house singing "The worms go in, the worms go out, in your stomach and out your mouth..." then she opens the back of her doll and pulls out the necklace - which is what ties the film together. Do you know the name. It was release between the late 50's - 70's. American film. Believe it's color.
Result: Without Warning (again) (1980) starring Jack Palance & Martin Landau. Thanx Stareater, ALNA70, Alli.
I am looking for a movie from the late 1970s/ early 1980s (it was in color) that has the following:
1. A group of teenagers in a van go camping and breakdown/get lost.
2. They start disappearing one by one.
3. They are being killed by a flying disc shaped creature that when it lands on you, it starts eating you and vein-like tubes go into the body.
4. The kids that are left find a shack where all of their dead friends are hanging like trophies.
5. Finally, you see where the discs are coming from. An alien like creature, similar to a vampire opens his cloak/cape and takes the eating discs out and throws them.
6. A memorable scene was when the kids are trying to drive away in their van, a disc lands on the windshield and you see how it operates through the glass.
7. I was watching HBO as a pre-teen in the early 80s when I saw ths movie.
